Maybe we should begin a thread in the back room for the Secret Squirrel Society. We could talk about what we set out to do and ended up doing instead.

That would be tough. It’s pretty much accurate for me in this thread, I just hardly come back to show what I did vs. what I said I would in this thread. I’m just glad I’m not the only one.

It happens constantly....
I went out to the shop this morning to make another attempt at cleaning work benches and putting tools away.
I got one bench done and spotted the Avenger at the shooting window bench. SQUIRREL !!!
I opened the window and sat down. Wait, that target is all shot up.. better go change it. With shoot n see in hand I walked out to the small trap I had hanging on a tree. Well, that trap wasn't made for .25 at 40fpe.
So I walked back to the shop and grabbed one of my 1'x3'x2mm high strength steel blanks. Ok, I need to paint that... so I took the blank and a rattle can back to the tree, hung and painted it.
Back at the shooting bench I ranged the blank at 40yds. So far I've shot 6 mags with the Avenger and a 2k fill's worth with the FD-PCP.
Then I got the idea that I wanted to sample some 99.9% pure lead casting.... but I don't have any 99.9% pure lead. Next I found myself on Rotometal's website ordering lead.
Still have 2 work benches to clean...

Sheriff West called me this morning and told me and Betty Lou to come out to the barn this afternoon. He asked if I had an airgun for sale. I sold him a springer some time back and he wanted something different. I took the Dragonfly MK2 and the SPA Plinkster (MRodAir C02) both in .177. He chose the Plinkster but said he wants the Dragonfly next month. The Starlings are messin' with his Martins.
Then he walked me into his mancave and handed me a gallon jug. We'll split a 3 gallon run of creek water happy pie.

I actually used a 12x12 Amazon box to make a "pellet trap" filled with cut up boxes.  The 30cal slugs go through and hit by steel plate backed trap, but the 22 cal stuff can be found near the back of the box and the 177s are mid to two thirds into the box.  A lot easier to recover than out of the insulation on my steel backing plate.

 Did a shot string on low power and 89 grain NOE .350 fn slugs in my Recluse, after swapping out the THOR LT off the Recluse on to the AEA Challenger .303 with 60 gr pellets puts out about the same power, but the Recluse has over drive in reserve 100+ fps faster on high, will be doing more ammo crony strings and make and save better notes than the last times.
 Next up tomorrow will be sight in and double check the AEA and get the thermal sighted in, Coyotes be ware, or better yet not

I shot and submitted my target for the Casual Match #7.

It's the first target to submit after the O-ring / valve replacement.
It's shootin' ok.
