Picked up a late 60's Daisy 99 (forerunner of the 499) from a house we were cleaning out yesterday.
Oiled her up this morning but she still didn't have much compression.
Thinking of opening it up tomorrow to do a detailed clean and lube.

Took the Notos on a 2.7mile safari on USACOE Hunting area.  It's still too hot and lots of loud boats, jet skis and swimmers partying on the lake.  I found a nice path that one of the locals rides her horse on so she unknowingly cleared out all the spider webs for me.  Tons of chestnuts (green) on the ground and den looking trees.  I'm guessing once it's too cold to swim or water ski there will be a lot less noise.  Later in the fall USACOE will lower the lake level so even less traffic.  I stumbled on a second trail camera so at least two of us think this is a good spot.  I think I'll wait until the lake lowers to deploy a camera here.  Sunday I will check out the other USACOE hunting area also less than 15 minutes from the house.

Bought a beand new YH clone off eBay for $180 shipped. Took only 5 days to get from CA to NH. This one replaced the YH I stupidly killed last week when I unknowingly ran it without any lubricant. Because I didn't refill right after I changed out the old lubricant. Anyways, this one is identical to my YH, so hopefully parts will swap without issues should I need to do so in the future.
Started it up a couple of hours ago, and just let it run without load for about 5min. After it cooled down, I connected my large cf tank, which had about 2200psi remaining. I filled the tank for about 8 minutes then shut it down. Breaking it in slowly.
I monitored the temp diligently with both the on board thermometer, and with my handheld infrared thermometer at different components of the compressor.  So, far, I've done three 10min runs, and the tank is around 4k right now. Gonna do one more run to get it to 4300psi.
Everything has been going smoothly, and the on board temp has yet to get above 70°C/140°F.

Nice set up. Those compressors have gone up quite a bit. I got a couple barrel bands from buck rail this week to hopefully make work on a couple different guns. I was able to make the 1358 Beeman underlever work on a little discovery carbine thing I got going and worked on the other one I got. It's for a kral bottle gun. I think I can make it work on my 357 bottle armada. If I can not make it a barrel band I can make it a barrel support. I want to try a ronin with the expansion chamber but don't want to have barrel droop from all that extra weight. Hopefully with the cooler weather coming I will be doing more shooting. Dinh how long do you let it cool before you fire it back up and continue filling?

At, $180 shipped, it's the lowest price I've ever seen on these water cooled units. An original YH runs about $400 on Amazon. Hopefully, this clone will last awhile.

I think I was waiting about 15-20min between fills. I didn't want it to completely cool down. When the on board thermometer reaches room temp and everything is cool to the touch, it's a go. The temp actually drops rather rapidly as soon as the compressor is turned off.
Also, I didn't use any ice in the water. The air temp was 80°F and water temp, out of the spigot, was around 66°F. Between the runs, the temp never got above 75°F. I got new, cool water for each run.

Notos in hand off to the second 15minutes away public land spot.  It's more rural than the first and shear cliff to the lake so much quieter.  I jumped a doe at 710am and found her bed and found a second bed about a mile in.  Right in the middle I found a nice draw and set trail camera #1.  Then I did the sit and wait 45minutes.  Dang treerats lobbing chestnuts at me like grenades but never saw them.....On the way back to the car I caught one on the side of a tree.  Up he went before I got crosshairs on him.  He ran so fast he fell out of the trees (a good 40 feet) I pursued and he ran on the ground about 10 yards before going vertical again....

Yeah, I've noticed that. Everything is cold to the touch in minutes. I wonder how quickly the pistons and oil cool down though.
I do keep the water and desk fan running the entire time.

I hung a flat screen and external speakers above the roll up door in the Red Shed.
We can stream everything we have access to like we have in the house... all access. I usually have sports or airgun/hunting related stuff on. That's Indy Car on the screen.
I can also cast videos from devices and connect to the ATN X Sight scope through a mini HDMI cable. It will also display our security camera system.

My new to me Crosman MK2 has a slow leak at the CO2 piercing cap assembly.    I want to replace the piercing pin Oring but haven't been able to drive the roll pin out so I've been soaking it with penetrating oil.   I noticed that the piercing cap assembly on my S&W 78G looks pretty similar to the same part on the Crosman.   I tried the S&W part in the Crosman.   Well I'll be darned, it went right in and worked just fine.   When the Crosman piercing cap stopped leaking, a slower leak revealed itself.  Probably from one of the valve orings.  Guess I'll be resealing all of the MK2.   It looks quite easy to reseal except for the seized roll pin.   Anybody have a great idea on how to remove a seized roll pin?

Tear down of the Project1322 replaced a car coilover sized spring in the air valve with a light spring from my Lowe's goody bag of springs.  And yes I have to cock the gun to pump up and headspace the FTP.  Posting in pump up the jam thread.

Found out that the artillery hold on my LGU is a waste of time.  It shoots considerably better when held tight to the shoulder and at the fore grip.

Made a rack for my GRACE screwdrivers.

I use the Chapman set more because of the larger array of blade sizes, buy the GRACE driver still get used and need to be within handy reach.

Got a 50 pellet test run in the tumbler. I haven't poured any of these .22 magnums in a while so I just wanna check some before I make a full run.

I ended up breaking down an unused target/trap area. I had used and old aluminum truck tool box to catch the deflected pellets in. The problem was that I didn't drill the drain holes big enough and they got plugged and the box filled with water. This soon became a skeeter breeder. All said and done I was able to recover a good 5# of lead. I put it in a pan and filled it with water. As I stirred most of the trashy stuff floated to the top and I scraped it off. I poured the remainder in a strainer and left it there to dry. Once dry I'll fire up the propane burner and smelt everything else out before pouring lead ingots. This will be my first lead recovery since I started casting.
Oh, just remembered, I have one more trap to clean out and add to it.

Somehow the clear plastic cover of my Notos magazine developed a crack from the small metal pin, to the screw hole, all the way to outer edge. This caused the pin to fall and render the magazine useless.
To repair this, I used super glue gel to bond the crack. Then I apply a clear packing tape to the entire one side of the cover, and used an Xacto knife to trim off all the excess all around the perimeter of the cover. Apply a bit of glue to the small metal pin, and reinstalled it.
I waited about an hour to allow some time for the glue to cure. Reloaded the mag and ran some shots through the Notos. Everything seems to be working fine again.
