What airgun related did you do today?

I have a customer that has gone through the legal processes for building his own silencers; he rolls his own barrels for his AR builds, and he does a lot of long range coyote-popping for farmers and ranchers.  A couple years ago he showed me some coyote-footage at a short shot for him, ~ 200 yards- his iPhone was a couple fee away from the longest can I've ever seen on the tip of an AR (.300 Blackout) and all you heard is pop-snap.  So we talked a bit about that, then I showed pictures of my PP700 and some of the squirrel-kills as well as accuracy at 20 and 25 yards.  I figured he'd just kind of nod and move on, an instead he wanted to know all about my little air pistol; he was both impressed and excited.  Not six weeks later he told me he ordered a .25 Marauder and was using it for jacks and ground squirrels around the fleet facility.

I think some shooters are into the joy of the shot and appreciate anything with a trigger.  Others seem to prefer just waving around their calibers and gun collection as a erection-extension like your standard fare contractor-grade-special Bro-truck.

When I took my PP700 to the local range, I got the glazed eyes thing until people noticed the accuracy and the lack of noise. Sometimes, that's all it takes- that's when I bring up cost of ammo.

Met up with Igolfat8 at Tim Hortons had breakfast today and talked airguns. I gave him some of my cast pellets to try out. Very nice and down to earth gent and I hope at some time we can get together when the weather breaks and do some shooting.

Finally got my 1377 back together- using an old crusty 760 pumper's barrel.  So old it is rifled.  Last I checked this barrel was a laser with JSB and Air Arms domes, but it's been a while.

Also said ixnay to the 2240; now it is a 1740 with my 1377's old barrel- known to be accurate with CM brown-box domes.

So far? I put my 24oz CO2 tank in the freezer.
Going to put it in an insulated bag and get a Bulk Refill today and want to get my moneys worth.

Only one shot so far today. Wanted to see if the Polgmag would fit and load properly in the Bullboss' magazine. Yes!........as long as you don't fully seat them like regular pellets. It chambered fine.
I removed the bipod and see what I can do off-hand, now that I have a much lighter scope. I leaned my back against one of the deck leggings, and sent a Polymag down range. It made full contact with the squirrel silhouette resetting plate.....40yd down range. I'm satisfied!

I started the fun process of cutting down, crowning, cutting a leade, and drilling the TP on a new Crosman barrel for my 1377

Rain started before I could finish the leade so I put things away.  About that time some of Matt's (Insanity) wadcutters in .25 showed up via the mail, so I squeezed in 3 shots before I got soaked.

Made a Walnut stock for my daisy 105b.

Not perfect, but not bad and the shape is better than the little factory stock.

This past weekend, I got the new Yong Heng up and running. Everything went nice and smooth, except for the initial start-up. The garage was in the high 30's on Friday. So, the compressor trying to fire up for the very first time was slow going and tried the breaker about 10 times before it finally fired up. Since it was it's first run, I only wanted to run it for about 10min then change the oil.
Then next day, the temp got into the 60's, and this time, if only had to reset the breaker about 5 times. I ran it until the temp hit 60C, then shut it down and change the oil again. I let it rest for several hours while I went out to do other stuff. Later that evening, I'd fired it up again with it trying the breaker about 4 times. I got the 6.8L 300bar carbon fiber tank now up to 200bars.
On Sunday, the temp got into the upper 60's.  It only tried the breaker twice this time, and just as it got pass the 300bar mark, the burst disc blew. No biggie since it came with about 6 replacement discs. One more oil change before I put the tank to rest until the next time it's needed.
The tank was now nearly full, and ready to air up my guns. However, I'd found out the next day that the tank dropped down to just under 4000psi. At first I thought my regulator's bleeder wasn't on tight, but later, it occurred to me, the drop was most likely from the air coolng down inside the tank. Thus, dropping the pressure some.
Very happy with the YH so far. So far it's been a much better experience than the Vevor clone, and my garage doesn't stink of oil like it did with the Vevor. From what I'm hearing, it seems YH had improved their product from the first generation. Fingers cross it'll keep on getting on.

Was on a Job Site in Cleveland today fixing things others had messed up.
A guy came up and asked about my truck and the cap.
As we chatted about it I mentioned that I had camped in it at Air Gun shoots.
That started about a half hour of talking about Air Guns!
Guy has a few and does know a bit so I told him about us and GTA.
Hope to see him sign up.

I 3D printed a barrel band for my Gauntlet.  I found it on Thingiverse and thought I'd give it a try.  The ID was a bit too tight, but a little sanding opened it up enough to give a good snug fit over the air tube and shroud.  This thing really stiffened the barrel!  I referred the scope and was getting nice tight groups using H&N Sniper Mediums!
