What airgun related did you do today?

I surfed the airgun forums and had to tell myself “NO” countless times whenever I saw an airgun that I needed to have.  I’m supposed to be getting better, not worse.

First thing I did was put some squirrel stew in the crockpot at about 6am, got to the state land about 7am, managed to get a couple chippers and a red squirrel.  I'm starting to do some slide animations at the moment of pictures of the hunt for a video.  The squirrel stew turned out killer by the way, got the second half of it in the fridge to be reheated.

Is there cream of mushroom involved?

Creme of chicken and mushroom, red peppers, creole seasoning, onions and potato's.

There is the difference...
I find myself trying to rationalize all sorts of spending that I "want", but don't need.
I usually lose the argument due to finances.  And I am the only one arguing...

Kerry I have the same problem and it's hard not to buy sometimes but indeed I need another airgun like I need a hole in my head.  The casting stuff has me doing the same thing too.

LOL!  There are a LOT of things I want.
Justifying them is the problem.
Fortunately, I have pretty much all of the things I really need.  Well, mostly...

Wayne, that sounds "Ummmmm. Good".  And the crockpot is the way to go.  The squirrel I shared with my son Thursday had cooked for over two hours and was still like boot leather ---> Good and tough!

Got the AM77 fixed... new valve oring and a new tp. Shot that a few times to sight back in. Then I went to the local hardware to pick up a couple hex head screws to replace the Allen type adjuster screws on the power adjusters on the pair of Maximus I picked up a couple weeks ago. The Allen was a bit awkward to adjust.
On the left is the original. In the middle is one of the hex heads I bought and on the right is a finished product.

LOL.... especially when done on a throw away Harbor Freight lathe from work that is missing all the tooling and guides.... with a file. Basically it's just the motor, control box and chuck on the frame.

Thanks... it's handy for simple jobs like this. I've chopped and crowned several Crosman "lego" barrels with it. Hacksaw blade, files, drill bit and stones.
Best part.... it was free. Be nice if I could find the missing parts for it on the cheap... heck, a new one is only like $600.

Was your barrel moving, so that you JBWelded it to stop any movement. BTW, that's a very interesting and innovative solution. One pair of tubes?

Yep, now the barrel stays put, and the top feels a lot more solid.  I also noticed that the E.S. dropped a lot.  It was usually at least 6 over 10 shots, now it's less than 2.  One tube of each should do it - I had some of the big tubes, and I ended up mixing a lot more than I needed.

yikes! Now, I had better start checking mine. Could be that I could blame all those misses on this newly discovered issue  . Nope, it's the shooter!

Thanks for this info, though. I think that it's a great (and easy) solution for fixing this kind of problem. And, when you say, "more solid," is that referring to weight...?

It feels a little more rigid - not that it was flimsy before, but I could swear that it feels better now.  It added a little weight too, nothing major.

Ordered some parts and got my new 12 volt compressor's inverter all wired up and fired it up and did a quick pressure test. I will be using it today and see how it works. Tuning just got a lot more enjoyable!
