What airgun related did you do today?

My FX 400 was leaking.  I determined that it was the regulator leaking.  Broke the gun down, cleaned, relubed and reassembled the rifle.  I filled it, and shot it down to 165b and put it away two days ago.  I just went out to see where the needle was pointing.  I think the problem has been solved.

Noticing the fortitude slipping in my shoulder. Groups are fine off the bench, but standing offhand I think a better grip beteween the butt and my shoulder will help things.

The stock is the same as the maximus. Any suggestions?

Hit right where I wanted, just bellow the symbol.  The purpose was towards satisfying my curiosity about what 13fpe can do in the form of an ftt in .177 at 50 ft in terms of damage.  This bottle is no skull test, I know, but my mind eye sees a skull cracking by association.  And in just the right spot: where I intended.

Round about airgun related...
Some time back when we had the RV I bought a folding base stand for the Blackstone type flat top grill. When it arrived it was too small and the legs on the off brand grill didn't line up. The heavy duty stand remained folded and stuck in a corner. I happened to run across a 2' x 3' cut off of 3/4" luan. I attached it to the top of the stand, fine sanded it. Then I mixed up some black and walnut stain for it. Once that dried I sprayed it with a clear acrylic semi gloss.
It will work great for a folding shooting and airgun tinkering table. Heavy duty and solid.

Had a suspicion that the mulch in my mulch trap had settled.  And I had a single kickback which was kind of exciting.  Anyways, opened up the box and found that nearly the top quarter was mostly air.  Yep, it had settled.  This was despite really compressing and shoving in as much mulch as I could, when I originally filled the box.

Lots of pellets floating around in the mulch too.  Haven't cleaned out all the pellets just yet.  Guess the only sure fire way is to float off the mulch?  As I was clearing the mulch away, the pellets would sink deeper in, escaping my grasp, even with tweezers.

So went off to Lowe's to grab some more mulch.  After wandering around outdoors, finally found it.  Online said they had 305 bags of it, I figured there might be a couple left!  Picked up a couple of bags.  I can't imagine using this stuff on the ground, it's kind of expensive for what you get, at least compared to normal mulch.  But for a pellet trap, it's great stuff.

Now to patch up the side of the cardboard box.  Last time I simply taped on a piece of cardboard.  This time I will stick a piece of cardboard inside the box to prevent stuff from falling out, and flip the box around to the other side.  Good for a little while longer!

Thanks, Brett!  Yeah, the break pattern is intriguing! It's hard to tell in the picture, but there's no hole in the back/no pass through.

I discovered that the new air tube I had installed in a Daisy Model 99 was broke off.........dunno how come.
But, I believe I am officially done trying to fix it........

Test run of powder coating some .3030 slugs with the new Harbor Freight PC Gun.
Took a .25" dowel and some steel wool and polished my Lee sizer to .3035.
Sized the aforementioned PC slugs to .3034 to .3036.
Hopefully tomorrow I can shoot them through the Challenger

Just couldn't make time to shoot but at least I did some shooting exercises.   At this point in my life, I find that exercising helps my offhand shooting as much or more than practicing shooting.

I have used a binder clip and folded the packet so that it is tight.  The idea is for more splatter effect but I’ve never done a comparison to know if there is even a noticeable difference or not.  Paintballs make the best splatters that I have found so far.

After installing the fixed sights on the bulldog Saturday I got out the bore sight today and confirmed. Then I did some case shuffling and got it lined up with a soft sided case   just big enough for it without an optic. I pulled out my current vinyl to possibly do the stock but nothing really popped so that's on hold for now as well.

I am a park ranger at a beach park.  At the end of each day we find all kinds of children’s toys left on the beach.  The best I give to a thrift store.  The rest go in a five gallon bucket to become airgun targets.

Today I lined up three plastic dinosaurs, a cartoon ogre, and a couple of Disney princesses at thirty yards.  I sometimes wonder about the Chinese workers laboring in some state owned plant to produce useless plastic junk for American consumers.  What must they think of our culture?  I like to think that some of them would get a good laugh if they knew what I was doing with the fruits of their labors.
