Quote from: avator on June 13, 2024, 12:03:04 PMAdventures in HPA compressors...Among the normal carousel of insanity that runs through my head on an infinite loop was the crazy notion to adapt the autostop system out of the MRodAir MKII compressor to the Vevor (YH knockoff).I dragged the MKII out from under the workbench in the casting shed and began looking at the possibilities. Just for yahoos I decided to give the MKII one more chance at life before subjecting it to my madness. I hooked up the water and put a dead head in the hose. But wait... a memory flashed before my eyes.. I remember one time some years back I had overfilled the oil and filled the room with a thick cloud of oil vapor. I had a feeling there was a oil/water separator tampon in that bleed block. I don't remember ever looking at it.So I broke out the wrenches and took it apart.Sure enough, there was a wad of something that may have been a tampon at on time. There were also drying beads... nasty. It was all held in from the bottom by one of those brass air stone things. I couldn't even blow air through it.So I dug all that out and cleaned it up. I didn't replace any of it because I always use an inline filter.I dragged the hole shebang to the Red Shed and found it a home. Under better lighting I noticed I had the autostop set at 4k instead of where I thought it was at 3k. Well yeah dummy, that would take a bit longer to reach. The Xisico Sentry happened to be close by and was down to just under 2k. I plugged it in and pressed play. In just under 30 seconds ole Big Red shut off. Temp was at 35C up from ambient 29C.I think I'll let Big Red live a little longer.I'm glad you got that sorted out and it's working as it should for you.Ron

It also appears to have some tape or thin rubber rolled up on each side as a spacer..... ?Puzzling for sure. Ron

RonLOLThat looks like something I would have done in a pinch if I was shooting, noticed the missing spacers, and had nothing on hand but tape to fix it. That said, I have no memory of doing it[chuckling]. Memory is a funny thing.
Well I survived the Spider bite, Doc said I was lucky it was a shallow bite, so it looks like the Black Widow got the worst of it.... word to the wise: Don't make your home in a Fat Man's chair... with the unusually dry weather here in North East Texas, I decided to fill some SCBA Tanks, got 4 filled before it got too hot to run the gas compressor, got up to 90° and I didn't want to put too much stress on the compressor and myself, I'll fill the rest of them tomorrow morning....
Finished filling the last 3 SCBA tanks this morning, now I'm ready to take a nap

I hung more pegboard hardware in the Man shed/cave/studio/bunker/doghouse. Then I hung some more air rifles. Still not satisfied with the organization so no pictures. Once I gets it the way I wants it I'll post some photos.
