Put a few rounds through a Hatsan Edge Vortex. It's not a bad airgun, but that $60 jump up to a Hatsan 95 Vortex is well worth it due to the 95's nice walnut stock and Quattro trigger, which is sooooooooo much better than the trigger on the Edge.

Did some micro in letting on a Corcoran stock that I have on my 177.

Swapped some scopes around then transferred the PID out of the single box into the new dual PID box.
This side will run the lead pot and as soon as the kit arrives, the other side will run the mold oven. Each on it's own power curcuit.
Meantime I can still run the lead pot and the mold oven can run with the rheostat.

Basically it controls the temp setting in things such as water heaters where a static temp setting is needed.

Breweries use them also.

In my case, I use one to control the lead temps for casting and the oven temps to preheat the molds.

They are alot more precise than a rheostat like the high/medium/low controls. You can set a PID controller to maintain temps as close as +1/-1 degree.

Folks that have been casting for years just have a 'feel' for things and don't use them. I am new to it and needed it to eliminate causes for poor results. It really has helped me. Plus, it was fun learning and putting it together.

Your casting reminds of pouring molten lead into someone's mouth as one of the most hideous forms of torture, B sir

Anything inserted into one's mouth, or any other orifice for that matter, at 700F would surely be a step or 2 up from torture.
Also, any moisture, even as small as a droplet of sweat, causes molten lead to react in a way that I wouldn't want to be within several feet of.

I have to admit, before I gained a safe level of respect for the dangers of what I was doing, I held the wood handles a bit too close to the metal. Before I knew it I had burned a nice blister on my finger right through the leather glove I had on.... lesson learned.

I put together a 1377 pumper carbine out of spare parts, took a few shots to make sure the pump worked well, then put it away.  I also checked pressure on my SPA PR900- still sitting exactly at 1500, same as when I put it away last year.  I was sorely tempted to take a few shots but I still haven't mounted a scope on it.

Went on a patrol with my bottle Bandito and got a couple of squirrels near the tractor. I've gotten a lot of them in the last few weeks as the juveniles leave the nest.

Swapped out the scope rings on the impact. I chose correctly and they're the perfect hight. Funny how just that fraction of an inch difference can make or break being able to see through the scope.

Yep, and the right eye relief can make just as much difference.

Got another one about 45 minutes ago, a juvenile male. Never had this many squirrels so close to the house. I've averaged one a day for the past two weeks. The dogs have been thrilled.

been busy with studies but finally got my .25 bandit from Wes assembled, went straight to modding ported it to 4mm all through and valve throat to 5mm so about +30% area to accommodate the +30% caliber area, also put a stormrider spring, I'd be happy with >20fpe and 10 shots unregged

the poppet seat got scratched and on filling it the first time i noticed a small leak but after one shot to "seat" the leak seems to be gone

am looking forward to shoot it and do some tests
