It's got really good power if it's holding air, unfortunately I haven't been able to test it shooting yet but only the chrony. I've got a feeling it will be a decent shooter, time will tell. I did get the boat tail mold this morning and now it's just do I want to pursue the DAR or the mold today. I better take my blood pressure pill if I start back up on the DAR.

I know with m y mean. With my Maximus, ever blood pressure med's don't work. Something has to be done with it virtually every single time I want to shoot it. It never ends. Now setting in a corner, propping up the wall LOL.

Rainstorm, take it out and shoot it. Such a relief!

I guess for right now DAR is short for Danged Air Rifle... Bet you can get it working...

Me I am feeling mostly better... almost ready to get back at things was able to mow the lawns yesterday... the ab pain turned out to be pancreatitis not an ulcer... still not quite up to snuff but way better... but should be able to get back to testing when my crosman parts get in...

The Heym 24" .22 Hornet barrel I scored got here along with the .17 HMR barrel... the hornet barrel seems to be choked down to ~.220... I just might be able to send the 30g BBT ..22 out of it...the drive band engages pretty well just past the chamber and may be swagging out enough... the .217 30g are a bit to loose... time will tell...

looking into a new machinist the older gentleman I had planned on going to retired... the other in town well I would rather not use... But there is a smith that one of the gun shops recommended that just opened up shop recently... will have to go check him out...

Really need to quit getting distracted into spending my $$ on other things and get a few of my barrels turned... But just put a Black wrap BSA Buccaneer .22 on pre order... could not help myself I like my .177 Buc that much and did want a .22 to go with it... and at 300$ is a steal...
do have another mold to get (223-38 RN)but after that I will finally show some discipline..

But back to the subject of this thread... am really looking forward to more testing with these pellets I am betting on moa or near moa at 40 yards from my brief testing with a bad transfer port seal and seeing your guy's results... once again time will tell...

B'day great. Spent the day at the bench. Hard to beat that! Liked it so much, I'm doing it again today.

My Choke is .250, and the bullets are .260 as cast. Huge difference. I did shoot a few single loaded. A little over 1" groups at 36 yards,

Got out a .2573 sizing die to try. Forced a few into a Mag, and sent them down range. Even being so oversized, they went barley over 1/2" for 9 bullets. With two fliers.

Can't until first of month to be able to order an NOE sizing die set. Should make a HUGE Difference!

The skirt on pellets is SUPPOSED to be oversize.... JSB Kings and King Heavy Mk.IIs are about the same size as the NOEs.... It is the head diameter that is close to the bore size....

I'll be headed out to the woods soon to try out some boat tails from the 217-30-FN 5 cavity, I've shot a couple so far, one with my Prod and I tried one in a CP2 also and surprisingly they both hit was I was shooting at. I think the SPA M16 will do good with them, it has a 1 in 20" twist with plenty of poop behind it so it should do good.

Michael they're definitely a big time winner in the accuracy department, at least in my SPA they are, anyone who's got an SPA M16 that's doing 40+ fpe they simply love these boat tails. When I got home I had to chrony one and I had put 22 shots through it already from about a 2800psi start today and it was 802fps. I stretched them out to about 70 yards on 12x and it had actually went up just a tad but they were going where they were supposed to. The gun was zeroed for about 40 yards with the JSB 25.39's to begin with, the POI had changed just a tad but very little, after I tweeked the scope I was amazed. I never even sorted any of them either, I just was shooting what I cast this morning.

I have been casting with a 4 cavity brass mold with the 34gr pins installed the last couple of days. I am running a Lyman Mag25 with temp seat at 780 deg. using lead with less than 1% tin added and bottom pouring. Mold is dropping real nice pellets especially once the mold is good and hot.

I had to order a single shot tray for my rifle to use the pellets. They are too long for my magazine...which is kind of a bummer!

What temps are you guys have the best success at and what alloy?

Pretty much exactly the same temp, with 1 1/2%, soon to be dropped to 1%

I will definitely own one of the 41 grain BT molds for the 25, I prefer a brass mold and probably get the HP version that's 39grain for the hollow points. I wonder if they also include pins for the flat nose, I'm guessing they do. I could probably open the regulator 1/4 turn on my DAR25 and it would probably put me close to 60fpe with a 39 grain so I'd be slinging them plenty fast.

The soonest I'll get one will be next month though, it's property taxes this month.

Wayne, the nose of the 41 gr. (and 51 gr.) .25 cal BBTs is too small for the RG system (min. 0.200" Meplat), you can only get a HP by ordering the Lyman pin, which can only be installed in one cavity.... Your 30 gr. .22 cal BBT mould is the same, if you ordered the HP version.... You can turn the HP pin around in the holder to get all the cavities casting FN bullets....
