In this case free shipping might be better than buy 3 ingots get the 4th free
Well I went and did it, ordered a 55lb-61lb pig ingot of 99.9% pure lead from roto metals, in reality if I did start trying to find all my lead with my metal detector it would take forever besides the fact of the gas I'd burn up going from site to site. I'll still definitely keep all the good lead that I do find with it though, I just won't be so zeroed in on the big targets with my detector but I sure won't ignore them either. Roto metals is really the best deal out there IMO.
Wayne, reverse what you are doing. It will damage the mold. The spru plate should be on top when gently shaking the pins into place. Reason being, the slight gap needed for the pins to release the pellets, at the holder, will allow the pins to drop too far, and will cause the pins to try and bind in the very end of the fitting. this WILL cause the dreaded divots in the mold.
This is for you Knife... don't watch till tomorrow..
Initial Test, Mold is breaking in beautifully). Good looking pellets! No dings, no flashing. No divots, no wrinkling. Just casting nicely. Reject rate was about 50% with the first mold, increasing as I used it as the pins were eating up the sides of the mold. New mold, no such issues what so ever.
