You are right about the free shipping as I just spent 4 hours sorting out a hundred pounds of wheel weights and ended up with 20 lbs. of 100% lead (stick ons) and 30 lbs. of clip ons.

Thanks Bob !!! I would much rather just find the free lead but in reality I'm burning gas up in my truck looking for a good spot to begin with, it is fun finding it with a metal detector too but it's a hit and miss with cans and large iron objects. I need to read what different size lead pipe reads like and put that in my memory bank. I usually dig it every time I come across a similar signal but still I'm always unsure of what it might be before I dig it.

I've also got muzzle loaders to use it on too, the pure lead is what you need for a muzzle loader. I first started casting back in the 70's when I bought my Remington Zouave replica by Lyman and also a Remington New model army revolver. I literally thousands of round through the revolver and still shooting great. Back in the day a hunting buddy and I use to hunt red squirrels with these revolvers and it was a challenge.

Well it's gotten very light outside, it's cool and I'm heading to the woods with my Mrod soon to shoot up some of these pellets.

Only Wayne knew of this. I couldn't get the NOE pellets to shoot consistently. the mold was eating its self up. Sharp wings, on the bases were being caused by the base pins.

Calling Swede, I knew it had to be something I was doing wrong. Made me Sick!

Well, in typical Swede fashion he said, No Mike, it isn't you, it is the pins. Said they looked fine to me and seemed to fit well.

Swede said "Send her In" That was a week ago, and today, the day before my Birthday, I was casting with the NEW NOE .25 Pellet mold. (prepped the new mold last night).

Long story short, the old mold would do just ok with weighed and sorted pellets. The new mold is putting out, with its first outing, Pellets that are shooting markedly better, while unsorted and not weighed.

Have very high hopes for the results, especially after breaking and sorting the pellets. Took the first vermin with it today. That Metplat nose exploded the offending trash bird.

The skirt forming pins were slightly out of spec, causing burning of the cavity at the base of the skirt.

the 39 Gr. bullet I am testing is coming along very well also!

Michael my aluminum mold did about the same thing as yours did however not to the extent that yours was, I got the good pins before I got much further than casting some of the 38 grainers and those pins were also off but not near as much as the 36.5 grainers if my memory serves me right. You were getting much worse I think. I've got quite a few of the pellets with too much flash in the spot you're talking about that need to be put in the pot cause they're not worth shooting.

Even with the brass mold I hold it with the sprueplate pointed down when I close it plus slightly shaking it and it closes perfect everytime. The skirts are beautiful out of the brass one.

Manny if you got the revised pins for your mold you're good to go if you decide to cast some. I think everyone got the correct pins automatically shipped to them

Wayne, reverse what you are doing. It will damage the mold. The spru plate should be on top when gently shaking the pins into place. Reason being, the slight gap needed for the pins to release the pellets, at the holder, will allow the pins to drop too far, and will cause the pins to try and bind in the very end of the fitting. this WILL cause the dreaded divots in the mold.

Cast about 400 this after noon, and the same last night of the 39 gr bullets.

At least 90% of the pellets are now coming out perfect! Even more so the bullets.

Tomorrow is my Birthday, and I am going to do what I enjoy most. AirGunning.

^X2.... Sprue plate on top, gentle taps on the mould while closing to seat the pins right down against the slotted holders.... If they aren't high enough and you are getting flashing around the skirt, then the holders need to be CAREFULLY bent upward until the pins will barely settle into place against the skirt taper in the mould cavities....

What Bob said. I don't tap when settling the pins. I simply gently vibrate the mold with a gentle shake of the hand. (That don't sound right)!

Just for grins, I just raised the Reg pressure to 165 from 145 and lowered the hammer spring pressure. Looking for possible slug/Bullet performance.

Initial Test, Mold is breaking in beautifully). Good looking pellets!

No dings, no flashing. No divots, no wrinkling. Just casting nicely. Reject rate was about 50% with the first mold, increasing as I used it as the pins were eating up the sides of the mold.

New mold, no such issues what so ever.

34.6 gr NOE----929 fps for 66.32 average

34.8------------925 fps For 66.13

Gun has lots more to give. Learned from Hubb today that the plenum os far too small. He tried to find a .357 plenum in inventory, but they were all gone. Said they didn't have much demand at all for the .357 plenums. GRRRRRR!!!

Need sizers for bullets. Sadly, have to wait until next month. Double GRRRR

Michael that boat tail mold is scheduled to be in the mail tomorrow. I used the 34.5 grain on the Dynamic today and I'm getting 15 regulated shots at about 51fpe then the last five shots on the second mag drop slowly so I'm sure they'll be usable shots. I don't figure that's to awful bad for a $300 gun. It is a monoblock too. I checked the port when I had it apart in the barrel connector and it can also be opened up some if I want.
