BSA single shot tray

Placed an ad in the classified for a bsa single shot tray. Checked on fleabay nothing anyone know where or who makes them for the bsa ultra in 22 and scorpion in 177

I'd like to get one for the Coyote and the Urban but don't want to pay $50 each.

So ... I've been thinkin' (can be dangerous). I believe it might be possible to make one from a simple block of hardwood. The mag well is a relatively simple, mostly rectangular shape. On the Urban/Coyote the mag is held in by a magnet, making it even simpler to construct. I'm still thinking about it. 🙂

Currently a work in progress but functional.   They insert a bit too far to the right and are plastic so do not lock in place.   The pellets will fall through.   My plan is to thread the lower, right, rear for a machine screw, leaving it proud of the right side and file to proper fitment which will then be captured to the proper location by the magnet.   As to the the pellet, I am thinking of grooving the perimeter for an o-ring which will barely hold the pellet in place.   I am advised it costs 6 to 8 cents to make.

With shipping it was £ 31.66 so about $42.31.  They are out of stock at the moment.  So is Pyramyd Air oddly.

I know back in the day some had hand carved trays out of rubber eraser material.  The BSA entry port is a bit "up there" vertically so was thinking to give a go at a hand carved one sometime.

So it’s a stock mag but with one hole that you pull out every time you want to shoot a pellet? Are you selling these and how much

Yes, it is pulled out for each shot being a single shot device.   Most likely not going to be a "commercial" endeavor.   Look in the webpage for the ".stl" file under "Things Files".   It is a free download.   Anyone with a 3-D printer can make it (I do not have a 3D printer).

What about waxing up the receiver, And molding one up with a wad of JB weld putty??  Just a thought

i used the 3d printer file posted above.  But also extended the pellet hole at a slight angle to the right so you can slide the pellet without removing the single shot tray.  Works but the pellet tumbles out of position occasionally.  Working on a slight modification.Will post picture once it works.

That would be my thought.... be nice if someone could make these available at a reasonable cost. However, one of the features that brought me to the Urban was the repeater mag.

Yes, the repeater function.   And it is a very nice magazine - but $50!?!   I thought a single-shot tray would be nice to have, but the BSA loader is the same price, mostly because of its complexity.   So I found the 3-D printed loader while searching for a lower-priced magazine.

Regarding 3-D printing - some public libraries have "maker" spaces that may have 3-D printers and volunteers that could print the loader from the .stl file.

I have a single shot tray for all my other repeaters but rarely use them unless I'm pellet testing. A 3D printed mag would be nice if it didn't cost $50. I'm thinking that sooner or later someone will make an aftermarket mag for the Urban.... fingers crossed.

Here's a pict of the modified single shot tray ver 2.  Printing it maybe this week and will test. 

I've been having a blast designing and printing air rifle parts.  Beats the boredom at work. If you have spare $$,  a good tool to our darkside tool arsenal is a 3d printer.
