I removed the barrel and removed the screw from the ldc and drilled a hole through a 2x4 a little larger than the barrel then slid it over the barrel and force-ably slid it down on the ldc a few times and it popped off without any damage.

Wayne, which slugs are you using in your Sentry?

NOE 250-41-FN with the Lyman HP pin.  I wish I had the RG mold because they didn't have them back when I bought the mold.

You might have clipping going on. I have that problem with my.25 sentry. With the ldc removed it shot much more accurate. Warning, it's a real PITA to get the ldc off.

Could you walk me through the disassembly process? I have no clue where to start on this gun.

It's been longer than my sometimers can remember. I'm sure Wayne could tell you. I do remember once you get the barrel out you need to grip the shroud with the ldc up and slam it on a WELL padded flat surface like a work bench which will slide the shroud down and allow you to remove it from the barrel. You then need to drill a hole just a little bit bigger than the barrel then thread the barrel thru the hole and pull hard. That should remove the ldc. It takes a lot of force to get it off.

I'll send it back then, sounds like a lot of things could go wrong.

Not necessarily. I'm not saying it is clipping just saying it's a possibility. The slugs may not have been the right size to engage the rifling correctly. The crown might not be correct thou the crown on mine was fine. The bore on mine was drilled off center from the chamber end but centered up by the muzzle.

That's the same way I do it,  The 2x4 is like using a slide hammer on the barrel and they tap right off.

I took delivery of my …..25 Sentry today …first thing I noticed its got quite a bark…came partly charged….but havent started the process of getting to know the gun….wasnt aware it came with a scope (which now resides on another gun)……My apologies folks…Im too tired to read all 66 pages and search yielded nada….I promise I will read…..is there a source for the magazines ….FDAR is out….emails off to several sources no responses yet….

Stay with me on this: I shot the DAR Gen ll today alongside the Sentry 704-9T, I used NSA slugs, NOE molds of different diameters and the venerable JSB Kings, you judge for yourself but I see some similarities and some disparities.

I also see left-right changes with the NSA and NOE slugs, telling me that something is enacting upon them sending them awry.

I sent an email to Mike (he has nothing in stock right now so he has the time to read it) with the same picture I am posting here. I just cannot believe you all shot good groups with slugs with this gun...

What does the “RG” mean on the NOE mold?

I’ve got the 4 cavity BT mold in 25 and I’m just now getting them dialed in on my Raptor.  I told a friend of the Sentry sale at FDAR and she picked one up. Cast up a couple hundred of those boat tails both as cast and sized to .249 for her to try as well as some of the more conventional “bullet” shaped slugs and some of the 26 grain pellets.  Since my Sentry is a .22, I couldn’t test any of those for accuracy.  Would love to find that boat tail mold in 22, but they seem to be scarce as hens teeth.

 My 703 shoots BBT just fine, on the other hand my 705 seems to be a pellet gun  Have not tried BBT slugs as of yet, but I suspect it will not like them either.

Ok I created another post …but will ask here …but questions seem to get buried and unanswered…new gun …side lever is sloppy and shows wear….should i be concerned …
And I will ask again …source for parts…all my emails to various vendors go unanswered,,,

Have you notified the vendor that sold it to you? Did you say it doesn't look like a new gun but was sold as new?

He said it was normal testing wear….and stood by the gun….given his reputation I got to live with it…would like to stockpile some parts…gun is just not as tight as I was expecting (maybe the newb in me) would really feel bummed if paid full price….kinda dissappointed given how long Ive wanted one…..guess I got to man up…lol

I had paid full price for mine, and it does not have your rub mark …… yet.  Depends on how the mechanism is treated.  As with anything purchased today, you should take it apart, clean, de-burr, lube and reassemble.  Especially items from China.  If Mike M. says it is good, I would trust him.   The side lever on these guns are loose and operate well.   My .02

Mine is the first “new gun” Ive seen with that wear….*(&^ of a lot of testing …should be good to go….called around/emailed nobody has parts for these guns….I always like to have a few bits and pieces for those W>>>T>>>F ….moments….will do as u recommend and then shoot it like I stole it…..many thanks

Looks good….my concern is the small rivet ,wearing enough to fail….and lever coming apart…obviously the wear shows how much play there is…will just have to baby it…lol….thanks for reply

Both my DAR's and the Sentry have plenty of 'slop' so there is no concern for me.

I like the rest of the gun, the stock feels nice too but for resale in the future, it sure would be nice to have the whole thing.

The RG molds come with pins for flat point, cup point and flat point.  In other words if for example you get a 2 cavity mold it will come with six pins total.

I like the gun…..took 1 mag to sight the accushot in at 30 feet….first shot way left then just walked it to center mass…lol.I did a search
