Buddy you need to drill the exhaust port on the valve, breach port and the transfer port and not even mess with the 3 barrel ports on the barrel.

Seems JSAR Hawk has identical receiver, stock, trigger(although his is manual safety), hammer spring adjuster. It looks like the sentry that had its lower shroud removed, the air res cut off and a bottle adapter added. Knowing them, they almost definitely port them too. Not sure how much us done in house or if Xisico does a special order for them. Wither way I can easily see where their added cost comes from. The sentry with a bottle adapter, bottle, and a ninja regulator can easily come to around $475, if not than close enough to cover the labor of doing it yourself.

On the Hawke if you remove the shroud, the end of the barrel is threaded for a moderator. Is that true for the sentry as well?

Dan evidently they had barrel problems shipped from China (that's what I heard) and last that I knew they hadn't gotten the problem resolved yet    Travis may be able to enlighten us on what's up with them, haven't seen much from JSAR recently about them   All the new Sentry HC Deluxe models have a manual safety on them now.  I also just checked my newer 702-5 as well and it too is manual safety.  I might even take that one in the field next time I get out because it's a great shooter as well but you don't get near the amount of shots from it like the 705's with the longer barrel and air tube.

Hajimoto did a tear down of the hawk, so if anyone's looking for an assembly and tear down video, that's it. He also did trigger adjustment and a few other things I think.

Wayne id check that hajimoto teardown video to confirm, he does show the valve quite clearly, I don't own the gun so I can't confirm anything. My guess is that jsar doesn't do much to the gun, they may just have them shipped from the manufacturer to their specs. They are very busy with their house built raptor, saw a video that they sent mrod custom work to a different vendor. So I doubt they're doing much to the hawk in house. But again, can't confirm.

Actually the JSAR valve is much different and flows quite a bit more and potential energy is much higher. And the TP and breech are way bigger as well.

Good to know. It would be awesome if that valve ever became for sale for the sentry, for those who live the gun without the bottle

What pellet has everyone found to be most accurate from the 705-9K .22 Sentry guns? I have some 16.36 H&N Terminators and they do ok at 25 yards but once you go much beyond that they start opening up too much for squirrel hunting.

 I tried some 21.14 Barracudas but they don't group well at 10 yards so I didn't try them any further.

I haven't tried the CPHPs or the Crossman domed. I do have some polymags and redfires I can try.

One of my .22  Sentries loves the RWS Superdomes and Field Target Trophies.
My .25 Sentries prefer slugs or about the heaviest pellets I can feed them. But both of them are turned up.

Mine loves the Cpdm’s. It’s a ragged hole it 30yrds. I did do a couple shots propped up on a tree at my 75yrd target & put the shots with in 1/2”. This gun is absolutely awesome. I let a freind shoot it today & he was like “I’m ordering one tonight!!” He did take his Kalibergun Cricket off the shooting stand & set it beside his Ataman M2R to shoot my Sentry. 😎😎

Since I've opened up the ports on all my Sentry's they're right at home shooting the heavier pellets and do really awesome with my cast BBT's, very accurate to say the least.

Wayne, did you ever open up the ports in your 705 Sentry .22 or leave it stock?

I'm trying to figure out what you did to get the 40-45 fpe.

Buddy I opened the exhaust port on the valve, the port in the breech and the transfer port.  No need to mess with the barrel ports they're all big enough to allow flow through because all three ports is well over 5/32"



by the time I get out in this cool Michigan air the gun will be doing probably 40fpe to begin with because it brings down the pressure enough.

I'm thinking of trying some slugs just not sure which ones...not sure of the power setting to use them.

I ordered a package of each one to see what shot the best. I can’t remember which one it was but I’ll look when I get home.

I set the power on 4, but I don’t remember what the FPS was. Now that I have my Mrod running I’m gonna tear this one apart & what mods I can do to it. I’d like to be running the 18gr slugs around 925.
