Went shooting yesterday to test a few more pellets out over the chrony. The Crosman Premiers 14.3gr pellets averaged 870 fps over a 16 shot string, but extreme spread was 57fps and I only got a solid 16 shots before the velocity started to drop off rapidly. This seems strange to me being as the JSB Diabolo 18.14gr. yielded 30 shots from starting @ 799fps to 836fps peak velocity down to 789fps @ shot 30.
Anyone have any insight on this?

would you not be able to get one through flying dragon? he can tune them to Canada standards
and they are not junk, if you can't get one from mike pester airgunsource CA to get a few, though i like the longer HC version, and the production run of those will be in soon

I would be very interested in hearing their rational for such a statement... and could put up a strong argument (unless they got a bad sample) that they are full of it. Never forget that there is now real competition for your dollars, and that there are many hidden motives for statements like this. It could be as simple as they can't make as much on them as some other gun they stock. I can't compete with FDAR's prices, and have no intention of trying. He does what he does... we do what we do (works just fine)

Things are going to get cutthroat out there... and the consumer is going to benefit greatly. I suggest you do your own homework, and take such blanket statements with a grain of salt (if even that).

I really am surprised at how easy it was to get to make 51 fpe. Mike M. did all the porting and I don't know if he did anything to the valve. Since the rifle is not leaking I am not opening it up! lol

So, the rifle cost $250, full tune from FDAR $100, shroud from Rocker1 $105, 10 lb/inch rate spring and washer $8.50. That totals $463. This is my first 50 fpe rifle so I don't know how it compares to the competition. Ie. Marauder, Sumatra and Rainstorm II.

I guess the Marauder would be the closest competitor price wise, under $400 when they're on sale. But since I have not tuned one or really followed online what work they need to produce 50 fpe, I cannot compere them.

Now on to accuracy testing!

So yesterday, Saturday, I had some time to do accuracy testing at 12 yards with my 1-4x BSA scope at 1x and tethered to my scba cylinder with the regulator set at ~2650 psi. The best accuracy came from the 33.95 grain JSB Match Diabolo Exact King Heavy MKII's at smaller than a dime 5 shot groups. Velocity was around 825 fps.

The other pellets I tested, JSB 33.95 grain originals, JSB 25.39, Benjamin 27.8 domes and 31 grain H&N Grizzly's shot around 3" groups. I think the second place pellet was around 1.5" groups. The Grizzly's were the worst at about 5" groups and the pellets were hitting the target sideways. I've never see that before!

I guess I could try the lighter pellets at a lower velocity to see if accuracy improves. Since the MKII Heavy's shoot so well I don't want to mess with the setup.

Ironically, I just came in from an evening with my Sentry.
Been too long since I shot it.
Pumped it up to 3000psi and grabbed all 3 magazines and loaded them with different pellets. Did it all again with 3 other pellets... Then went back to it's favorite JSB 18.13g and shot 2 more mags until the POI started to fall.
3 Mags X 8 pellets=24, TWICE around is 48, then another 2 mags X 8=16...
That's 64 shots and the air charge dropped to 1600 PSI.... WOWZERS!

I got it used... very lightly used... (like new)
So while I can not be 100% positive, I am confident there are no internal modifications. The power adjuster is set in the middle of it's range on the indicator.
I do not own a Chrony but do use a smart phone ap "Chono Connect". I think it reads fast but can use it to track changes or deviations. I can use it next time out.
I can tell you, on the last Mag I could actually see through the scope the pellet travel to the target 35 yards away, that is usually around 650 fps or less for me. It was hitting about 2" low on the last 4 shots so I called it quits and looked at the gauge reading to see what pressure was "too low".

I've been experimenting with air pressure as per Mike M's suggestion. With the 14.3gr Crosman Premier Domed pellets I'm now averaging 867fps out of a 30 string w/ an extreme spread of 37fps. @3200psi. Total shot counts from 3200-2000psi is 56 before point of impact drops. I just shot a 30 shoot group at 10 yards that measures 1/4" ctc. Though I can't figure out why the group was 1" lower than point of aim at that range.

That is because the pellet travels in an arc along it's path. At that close it was still climbing.
Imagine the scope zero being out at 25 -30 yards, and your cross hair is 2 inches above the muzzle. The Zero is where those two intersect. The pellet has to climb to get there but then falls further out. More technically it may happen twice depending on the trajectory, once near, and again farther out.

This is my chrony numbers after I installed a huma reg. Mods are open up all the ports lighter hammer spring. This is the best I can do with this gun. Mine is a 22 shooting jsb 18.13

i am looking into it, i have tried to attach the assembly diagram, its too big to do, but it would do you no good it does not include the probe but it is the right one for the proto's,
i would try an auto parts store so you can grab one in metric or standard or a good hardware store

Go to the source or take the originals to an industrial belt/hose/O ring house.Really cheap and accurate sizing with plenty of types & materials available. Cheers
