Yumny beef bacon for breakfast then a grilled swiss cheese burger with caramelized onions and a dill spear for lunch! Wanting a baked potato for dinner.

Family gathering... Let's see what I can recall.
Fried chicken (25 lbs), Awesome Greek Salad, Massive soft bread Rolls, German potato salad, Macaroni salad, Red skin potato salad, DEVILED EGGS, veggie tray with Ranch dip...then Zucchini bread, Peach Cobbler... and Ice cream for desert.

If it sounds like I was feeding an "army" ... I was. Those littles can eat a lot!!

Sorry no pics... I was the host and when the smoke settled, I passed out on a food comma.

I was planning on grilling today but i woke up to rain. I figured if singing in the rain was worth a movie, why not grilling in the rain! The result was a delicious,  typical romanian lunch. Pork loin, romanian sausage without casing,  mashed taters and pickled red peppers. All washed down with beer.
Now it's nap time.

Let’s see, the three youngest boys are out of town helping friends work on a rental house, Micah works and Heather is at the barn.  Mrs. P and myself went out for a bit, just the two of us with nothing to tie us back to the house.  We stopped for refreshers and drove out to Enumclaw to get some pizzas.  We headed to the park to eat and talk.  Afterwards we parked in town and wandered the sidewalks with all of the people out on a  beautiful evening.  We stopped in and picked up a couple scoops of ice cream and wandered some more settling in the lawn area of the city hall building.  Later we walked back to the car and drove home.  Now we are settling in for the evening and thinking about watching a movie.

Son took the train up from NYC to spend the weekend with us.   He was starving when I picked him up and wanted BBQ.  Went to Smokey Bones BBQ joint.   I had a rack of ribs, he had a pulled pork platter.    I'd rate the meal as OK but it was great to see him.

It is.  I was at the house alone working all day yesterday.  When I stopped to eat or take a break it was an odd feeling being there alone.  It definitely felt different too being able to go out and not feel like we needed to get back to the house because of the kids.  It was like I was on vacation but at home.  It was nice but uncomfortable all at the same time.  We have made choices and sacrifices to be able to have Mrs. P at home to teach and be there for the kids.  I wouldn’t change a thing.  It’s so nice to come home after a day at work and have the house alive.  I don’t have to turn the lights on or turn up the heat.  Dinner is usually in some stage of completion and the kids have their own things going on either in the shop, yard or a room of the house. It’s been a great situation for us.  It’s going to be strange to get to the point when there aren’t any kids at home…

I have so much respect for the 2 of you, and how you accomplished the lifestyle you set out to do. 8 kids on a single income! Simply outstanding!

Enjoyed a yummy egg, potato, cheese, onion, jalapeno and salsa burrito for breakfast. Fixing to enjoy a hanger steak with a baked potato this evening!

We like the Red Robin burgers.   I think my favorite is the one with whiskey sauce.   I like the onion rings also.   Endless fries are OK but nothing special.

I like the Banzai burger but tonight I had just the cheeseburger.  Not sure what it was called.  We ordered it for take out so we ordered all the same burger.  It hit the spot!

I like to sprinkle the seasoning salt on the fries and dip them in bleu cheese dressing.

Day off, on this beautiful day!
Just got in a little while ago from errands and shopping.  Picked up fresh made fried chicken from the grocery store. Crisped it up in the air fryer at home. Yum!
