Now that I am ready, where did all them tree rats go?

Zoey and I went for a woods walk with the Kratos.
She found four squirrels ... but when I caught up they were nowhere to be seen.
I emptied the mag on a tree stump out of frustration.

So...I got the field mowed.
Brought out my model 99 .300 Savage and rechecked zero at 125 yrds with peeps.

Well, kinda sorta
Red is what I mow... Yellow is what I own.
For reference, the driveway is 600'
And those trees are mostly Black Walnuts...
Careful what you wish for... the "field" on the right side of the driveway only gets mowed 3 times a season....
 And the walnuts play havoc on the mower blades.

I shot spinners today with all 6 of the rifles I own, at 30 meters. It felt really good. Even changed carts in the QB78D and got it dialed in good. Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll see where the POI is now at at 20 meters. This evening, it’s going to be pizza and axe throwing with the youth. Should be interesting, to say the least.

I was there.
Had the Marauder leaning on my lap, resting on the sticks while I was checking my drop data.
Boom.
On the ground.
I think I just shifted the barrel a bit.
No visible damage..
Had no affect on my score.
How could it?

I took my new favorite (latest gun) the .25 caliber Hatsan Striker out for a "walk".  I've got little trail set up where I can engage targets at different ranges and angles.  I hang beer cans from tree branches and wander around contorting my body into uncomfortable shooting positions (anyone ever get an easy shot while hunting?).  In the parlance of my mountain biking hobby I "cleaned" the trail.  24 hits for 26 shots (12 cans, 2 shots each +2 misses).  I am stoked!  Now it's time to hang the tomato paste cans to make it more challenging.

Found a small square stamped sheet metal fry pan at the grocery store. The label claimed it was for grilled cheese sandwiches.  I had other ideas.

Bent a piece of 1/4" steel rod into a hanger and added the pan to my 78 yard swinger array. A pretty fair standing target just less than 5MOAs.

Fired the stock Marauder FT with 10.5 CPD pellets. Got 6 hits in 12 shots fired, My daughter and son in law took a few shots too.  About 3 3/4 mills above the 25 yard zero.

A little disappointed at how deep the 17 dented the pan. Pretty sure the 25 EDgun is going to convert it from a pan to a colander.

Shot the 397 with a utg 2x7 pistol scope set on 7 power standing offhand and semi rested leaning against the wall, sitting and kneeling at 20 yds.
Shooting the pistol scope mounted scout style is a bit of a challenge in that if your head is out of position at all, the scope blurs out.
But, when the field of vision is clear, there’s no parallax problem at all... I like that!
Makes me concentrate more on my form and is now second nature.
This one has a stiff stock trigger on it, but I shoot it well for some reason from the bench and offhand.
The 39x guns just fit me well I guess.

I’m waiting on a 392 steroid job from Mac1 right now... can’t wait to try the trigger on that one when I get it back!

I really like my steroid 392. It’s a little to loud for an urban environment though.

It’s been a while, but I think I remember mine getting over 25fpe with heavier pellets.
And I like that Tim uses better quality seals, billet pump arm, steel end cap, etc. so if you take care of it, you should be able to pass it on to your grandkids.

RWS 34 with a B25 .22 barrel on it.

I like the shot cycle a little more in .22.

Any decent glass is already mounted and sighted on another gun, so it’s sporting a millett 30mm dot sight. It’s pretty inaccurate right now.

Going to get another scope and see what happens before I put it’s proper .177 barrel back on.

Got my PR900W back "on the road" with new barrel o-rings.  Sonja LOVES the little firecracker.  Apparently, the little cannon doesn't mind NSAs.  Still too early to tell given I only sent 3 down the throat, but a dime group at 30 yards and no sights, no scope.  Just "sighting" down the LDC.

Sonja also eyeballed the old Maximus, so if we end up staying in VA this weekend, we'll be playing.

Shot the Beeman Chief II using some of the .177 cal. JSB Hades at 800FPS not as much expansion as I hoped for, but I can use then for hunting.

I took the Hatsan Striker to the 50 yard range and fine tuned the zero.  It is now zeroed with AA 25.4gr domes at 25 yards for range.  I zeroed the azimuth at 35 yards because my 25 yard zero was tending to the left at 35 yards.  I made up what I hope is the definitive range card.   I'm all set to hunt this year with either the H&N FTT's or the AA domes.  Accuracy is very good at 25 yards and I think that with a bit more practice I'll be able to push the maximum range on this gun to 30 yards.  The Hatsan Striker is a very handy package.  It compares well with the Diana 34.  It is a similar size and heft.  The cocking effort is stout but the reward is 20+ fpe.  I'd like to have one in .22 now.

All of the Marauders.
Last Sunday at FT I dropped the .177. No visible damage but the barrel was moved a bit inside the barrel clamp (I use two additional o-rings to keep the barrel stable). When I arrived home I checked it and it was shooting one mil-dot left at 18 yards. I suppose that is why I missed my last seven targets at Concord. (That’s my story and I am sticking with it.)
The other day I saw some droppings in the yard so I set up the trail camera last night, along with my kibbles-n-bit w/cheese mixture.
I caught Mickey’s cousin on film at 12:22am this am so I will be out tonight (tomorrow).
An old screw, I am normally horizontal by 8pm so I will set everything up before dark, catch some z’s then get up at midnight and do the deed..
While the .177 would be enough, I do have the .22 and the .25 so I shot them today, too.
The .22 likes any pellet as long as it is 5.52mm, period.
Only 20 yards from bench to rat but, it will stack them all day.
The .25 will shoot anything you feed it.
But mine, for some reason it shoots 27.4 Benjis very well....Cheap shooting.
A bit too much power though for Rattus Norvegicus so the .22 will have to do..

Pretty much the same here.  I cooked dinner after work and once my little family was fed I snuck outside with the XS60c and some 16gr JSB Straton Diablo's.  I just ordered a tin of these on a hunch and it paid off.  They are hands down the most accurate pellet in my RIM and they also shoot very accurately in the XS60c.  I shot til it was too dark to distinguish the crosshairs.
