I carried one of my Crosman 1400's hunting today but I didn't see anything I wanted to eat so I gave several squirrels and an armadillo a pass.  I've still got a half dozen squirrels in the freezer.  Back at home I exercised the dogs for an hour and then sat down for a short session with a Crosman Fire.  I shot a couple dozen CPHP at my resetting spinner target at thirty yards.  It may be the perfect springer.  It is cheap, powerful, and accurate with 7.9gr CPHP.  What's not to like?

Nothin', it was uncomfortably cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be a sunny, mid 60's day that will be conducive to a  bunch of patio time with both long and short barreled airguns.

 Shot Nick's just converted bottle Chaser through the crony, gained some 50 fps on just 800 psi air, will be entertaining 1800 psi next.

I shot two identical 8.5x11” target sheets with the 880, sitting on the ground. Identical only until I completed the sets of shots on them, 

Results from the second page shot were worse than the first page, using the same gun, pellets, distance, and so forth. The only difference was using 4 pumps per shot on page 1 and 5 pumps per shot on page 2. I doubt that was the problem. Normally, at 33’ there hasn’t been much difference between 4 and 5 pumps.

To end on a good note I shot the pellet-tin-face-in-soup-can noisemaker, standing, some at 33’ and some at 42’. At least all was well there. Called it quits due to darkness and rain.

Will repeat this set of targets again soon, same distance, etc.

I’ve been shooting my Dragonfly Mk2 and Crosman C2023, as often as I can before and after work. Especially, after work. Just at tin cans at the end of the concrete part of the driveway, 20 meters from a kneeling position. Just too easy and yet so much fun.

Especially when the hit makes an unmistakeable sound! Now, to find a very small thing for that purpose. Maybe something like a jingle bell without its companions on the string. Sort of like a bright red “cherry” to knock off a fake ice cream sundae.

Windy but close range. Diana 34's favorite pellet (so far) are the destroyers, but I have a ton of leftover CPH so figured it's worth a try.

Sighted in at 25 it's not good for pesting anything smaller than a rabbit but inside 20 yards it's probably good to go for ground squirrels, maybe HOSP's inside 15 yds...

I began with my peep-sighted HW50S but it was too much shadow/shade to see the spoons at either 25 or 30 yards.  I next shot 30 yard targets with my scoped Diana 34. That gun prefers the heavier H&N pellet to the JSB pellet. Speaking of heavier,  my Diana 34 has become to big and heavy for me. I'm prepared to make someone a very good deal on this very accurate, tuned scoped rifle.

I ended the day with my scoped HW30S shooting both spoons and 30 yard targets.  The 30S definitely  prefers the AA  pellets over the JSB and I definitely prefer shooting the 30S over the much heavier Diana34.

The outside activities ended with the setting of the 10M targets.  Weather permitting,  I plan to shot my Daisy 853's tomorrow plus, I have a Daisy 901 enroute.

Finally got around to mounting a red dot on my GK1 and zeroed it at 20 yards.  It's shooting ¼" groups, rested at that didtance with the red dot!  Can't complain with that!

Also pulled out the Notos and mounted  the Eable Vision Scope Cam.  At 20 yards it shoots hole in hole!  For it's price point, it never fails to impress with it's accuracy!  It's ready for some rat sniping now!

It's been a while since I just plinked for the sake of plinking...  It was fun!

It was sunny and in the low 60s and I spent about 30 minutes sighting in and shooting my new Crosman custom shop pistol, with the Williams sigh and it only took a very few minutes to sight in.   After my QB78S arrived I cleaned the barrel and give the outside a quick rub down and shot it about 30 times to see if it was somewhat accurate and it seemed to b, however top rear sight is of little value as it's fixed and of course it was off about an 2 inches right and off about the same down.  I have mounted an old red dot sight and hopefully I can sight it in and see how well I like the setup.  So far I do like the rifle as it's a bargain for less than $100 dollars.  Charles

I've been under the impression that my scoped HW30S and Beeman R7 prefer the 7.33 gr. AA pellet over the JSB 7.33 gr. pellet.  Well, after taking inventory, I find that I have about three times the amount of unopened tins of JSB 7.33 gr. pellets as I do of the AA.  So, this morning was practice time the with the 30S and R7 using the 7.33 yr. JSB's.  I'm quite pleased with the results.

I also shot cans with my various handguns.  I ain't no pistolero but, I'm better with my Crosman .357 than I am with the others. That said, I do enjoy shooting cans with the others
as well as with my Daisy RR and 25.  Now then, we'll see how much I enjoy my new Daisy 90 that is out for delivery.

20 shots with the FWB 601 10M offhand.   As much as I love this AG I've been neglecting my daily practice sessions.    Oh well,  I'll tell myself it's the quality of the practice not quantity.

I started out shooting the 880 5x per bullseye from 33’, sitting on the ground. First shot hit almost dead on point. Another one was not as good but within my normal results. The other three got whooshed off by the wind. Today I knew it was not me, not the gun, not the pellets, because if I timed the shot to go in a lull, it was a good one. If not, it was “gone with the wind.” Moving the target to a different location didn’t help, until I moved it to a completely different place, with the garage wall shielding shots from prevailing wind. Then things went normally.

That location, however, would’ve had me sitting on sharp chunks of crushed rock, so I ditched the sitting bullseye targets and set up the pellet-tins-in-soup-can rig for standing offhand practice. What I paced out thinking was 50’ turned out to be at least 54’ when I later measured the span. What I thought was 58’ was also actually 62’. And the 64’ position (I soooo wanted to stretch it to 66’ but that would have had me stepping backward and down off a retaining wall, a pretty bad drop) turned out to be 67’ to 68’ after all. I hit all the 54’ shots, missed one of the 62’ shots and several of the 67’ shots. I did set the can upright for the 67’ distance, making it easier to hit than the other way.

But given the wind and the sharp coldness, that was good enough for today. Weather is supposed to warm up a bit more the next few days, which has me champing at the bit. Tomorrow will be P3 day.

Hunting plans changed and the family needed me at home.  Between chores I was able to shoot the new SPA800r and Harley.
Harley is now sighted in with the UTG red dot at 14M nickel sized groups on bags with H&N 18.2 Hunters and JSB 18s.  She prefers the JSBs and they load easier.  Sadly she bested at 330fps so even though she still fits in the coverall pocket with the UTG bulge, she doesn't look holster friendly and not enough fpe to carry as the "small game accompaniment tool" to the MSR or crossbow.  I like the groups and can count on a nice backyard stress reliever of 20-25 shots on a cart.
The SPA800r was MOS accurate out the box with iron sights at 14M she shot a 4 shot string at 4% ES and 8fpe on the HN18.2 Hunters.  Then a 7 shot string at sub 4% ES and 7.5fpe with good ole CPHP 14.3s.  She falls of the reg now at 100bar.  I was only able to hand pump 160bar into the gun then she would leak (only 40 pumps 100-160 bar).
First thoughts;
I love the balance with the BR grip and irons so my optic will need to be light (or maybe the WGS ghost ring).  The sticker says limited to 495fps per Canadian law and my max 14.3 was 489fps so dead on Canadian tune.  I believe once I get the reg to something like 120 bar and the starting fill closer to 200 bar I should get a mag of small game 15M deadly shots.  Speaking of which, the factory KooKoo clock sux, will be replaced with CARM...not sure about enhanced mag count as I just see the huge shark fin over the curve of the factory mag.  So on unboxing I like this pistol and believe the project when complete will meet my objective as a small game sidearm.
Questions:  Any way to degas the gun other than shooting to 0 bar?  Suggestions for alternative magazines?
