This is going to be a few silly questions, butWhere are you guys buying your o-rings from? I've been to nearly every single hardware store (big box or otherwise) in my area and I'm just not finding proper fitting o-rings. I read here that the size to use is a 3mm x 25mm o-ring, but it seems no one is selling metric sizes. I really don't want to order from McMaster Carr or some other warehouse because I don't need 20+ o-rings.
New to the group guys. Just ordered a Hong Yeng Compressor, Chinese Gold Filter and bits and pieces to build my HPA charging rig. Until I see concrete evidence to the contrary, I am going to fill my Gold Filter directly. I’m omitting an inner PVC liner and using 2" and 1″ thick cut sections of the supplied tampon as inner end caps for 13X molecular sieve beads. Here’s why I don’t toss out junk from the workshop! …..salvaged this old Hankison refrigerated air dryer and did a 5-minute conversion to a water chiller …will be used as a closed-loop chill water/glycol cooling system for my Yong Heng compressor rig 😉 …..It’s the right color too! (epoxy containers for size reference).
Hehehe, I just know I'm way overkill on this cooling thing, but I love to build stuff!BTW How long did your filter take to arrive in the US after it was shipped? (mine shipped yesterday)
My thanks to you for the inspiration. Your description walked me right through it, I just thought some pics might help others.Did you struggle like I did getting the second cap off? Boy it was really on there. I tried a strap wrench, and couldn't budge it. That is when I wrapped it in a dozen layers of duct tape and clamped it in the vice. One other note - The internal threads are incredibly sharp. I saw some paper remnants in them and reached in with my finger to wipe them out of there, and the project took a short break for first aid.....Thanks again.Rod
Rod,Is that a 30min cyl? looks like it, pictures can be deceiving...if it is a 30min cyl, this is the bag I used Brian.http://www.ebay.com/itm/LINE2design-EMS-Oxygen-Sleeve-Bag-Star-of-Life-Logo-Navy/302240278658?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l264930 min cylinder fits perfectly, nicely padded, and the pouch will hold the fill adapter and hose as long as the hose can be disconnected and coiled up like mine...
