Thx, that will add about 25% to my time to fill the guppy or 90ci bottle. Something to think about.

I didn't time mine, but my gold filter will take less than 5 mins to get up to like 4,000+ psi. I'll have to remember to time it next time.

I'm considering grabbing a second Gold filter. Monies dictate otherwise at the moment. I just don't want to spend the money on it right now. I'd do a second one filled with molecular sieve and leave my first filter a mixture of charcoal and sieve.

That looks like a great pre filter!

I'd have to see the inside for it to make complete sense. Air should go in the middle hose, water and oil would drop out, the first bleed would be where you did your water/oil bleeds. The top hose is out going air, this I would plug into my current gold filter.

The confusing part, and why I'd like to see the inside, why the end cap bleed?

I'd put a nice chunk of tampon in the bottom, fill the rest with carbon. Then I'd use my gold filter, filled with just sieve for final drying.

Giving it a little more thought, I could use a foster check valve on the input, but would need a high pressure shut-off on the output. I'm not finding a reasonable shut-off that will work with these pressures. Anyone know of any? Considering filling half of the pvc filter housing with delron, to minimize impact to my fill times and still provide filtration.

From the pictures, it looks like the internal volume is 1.4" ID X 9.5" L is > 75 cc's of volume. That is before adding pvc or any filter material. ie using it "as is" would be a significant impact to fill time.

It's a little expensive but what isn't in this hobby.

I am looking for lower cost alternatives. I am not sure if ball valves will work but I am not a valve expert.

Yea, something half that cost would be nice.

Don't know if those hydraulic ball valves would work, either.

My thinking of the ball valves is that maybe the pressure differential will make the valve hard to open because one side will be 4500 psi and the other will be lower. But like I said, I don't the first hand have experience to know for sure.

You can get 6000 psi ball valves, they are NOT cheap!!!

The shut off you linked would do. As would a needle seat valve with the correct pressure rating of course.

They seem to be built for liquid/oils. Will they leak when using HP air? Even a slow leak will be an issue for what I'm trying to do, hold the pressure in the filter for weeks at a time.

I added my own twist, I put a groove in the pvc and added an o-ring to make sure the air goes thru the filter and not around. I only added 1 o-ring so the air can still equalize and hopefully not crack the pvc. I am going to test it out tomorrow. I am running it on a Altaros booster with an old 40 gallon single stage shop compressor.
