eBay compressor

Well I did not post the eBay compressor deal in the bargain gate knowing that it could be a scam and I do not think any other person that posted did so either.  There are so many chances to get scammed in todays world that it truly is buyer beware. If we waited to know its a real deal before posting it then all would lose out on the deals. Each has their own criteria as to what they are comfortable with when buying off the web so if you are not comfortable then do not buy its really that easy. The only reason I trust and buy off eBay is the fact that the buyer is protected for these situations very well.

Agreed that no one wants to have to deal with being scammed but unless you live in a cocoon chances are you will be scammed at least once in your lifetime. If it does not seem right to you then stay away it just that simple.

I just received my compressor about 30 minutes ago and have no inclination that the seller will not stand behind their product and be there if I need any supplies or assistance and if not then there are plenty more seller on the web to provide me with what I need or desire.

So it's safe to say the seller is honest at this point

Yep I will take pics and give a run down of my setup as I go tomorrow. I have to decide how I am going to stand my gold filter up vertical and how to run lines so the lowest point will be the line out of the compressor so any moisture that collects at the bottom of the line will not flow into the compressor blocks or into the gold filter except when in use. By doing that I can unhook the quick connect at the lower end of the gold filter so any water accumulated drains out of line and filter end between each use. I will have a shutoff valve in the HPA line somewhere undecided as of yet to be able to just drain the compressor without bleeding the pressure off the entire high side when filling tanks.

It should be fine to restart the compressor so that it pressurizes the line before I open the system back up to allow filling as long as I let the line fill to a higher  pressure than in the filter side before the shutoff is opened back up so there is no back flow of air or vapor.

Well his price went up to $260 with 38 sold.... At that price, I don't think anyone would have questioned if this was a scam or not, that's right in the sweet spot of good deal but not TOO good of a deal....

So perplexing..... would be crazy if we actually received compressors for $228. Not holding my breath yet, no tracking number to speak of (but it hasn't been 5 days for me either).

I wonder if this guy actually has the compressors in stock. Something tells me they do these "sales" to get a load of capital going then drive down the street and buy them cheaply in bulk. With almost 40 of these sold, you would think they would have started shipping by now. Just trying to keep my hopes up in Yong-gate 2017. I noticed a new thing on Paypal as well, there is now a $.25 charge to transfer a balance into your bank account. They must have an entire room of people who sit around and come up with ways to milk every cent from us.

I just got my money this morning. Well notification from ebay that I will be refunded, it hasn't actually hit my account yet, but I'm sure it will. It was painless, but took 2 weeks or so.
For the record, I was not coined... I was braceleted. LOL

I haven't done one of these in years, last time I had to make a claim like this I had to return the item to the seller on my dime with full tracking before I got a refund. I assume it's nothing like that now but I have to ask (for a friend of course  )

Well that's good news.... not good news that it happened... good news that it worked out. I sure hope Ebay takes action on the offender. Not sure what can be done... other than banning them from Ebay.... I'm sure the crafty little boogers will find a way back. We have an abundance of corruption right here in our own backyard, it should be a surprise that it's Worldwide. It's a darned shame when it happens to other people everyday.... It"s HUGE when it happens to us.

He got in on the first deal where the seller was asking for more money post-sale.  He stood his ground and got his stuff shipped without shelling out more money.  I think most others either cancelled or paid the "ransom".

So the "new" seller is the old topse.6666 or they are affiliated and part of a "network" of folk or perhaps work for the same company or boss over there/here.

Unless Ebay knows this is somehow the same item and is allowing reviews from various sellers.  Weird if so as there are only 6 reviews...am I missing something?

When I check reviews from other higher priced sellers the reviews show as sold by that seller for that particular auction.

No, possible false alarm.  Looked at a few other items not pertaining to compressors and in the reviews section there are reviews from multiple sellers.

I tried to connect those dots before I plunked down my paypal but I didn't see a connection (other than those reviews are all for similar items, only one of which was actually sold by chenglong).

Yah, you have to wait until the item arrives, then wait 3 business days for the seller to reply to the claim of "item didn't match description". Then another 5 business days while ebay investigates.

Sorry guys I was sick yesterday so could not get out to try to find the oil locally. I had no luck today after searching everywhere local. I just ordered a half gallon of the Chemlube 751 so will be waiting for it to arrive to fire it up and test it out. having it sent priority mail so hopefully will have it early next week.
