I feel ya, but there seem to be many "apologists" or even "enablers" of scammers.  I'll say it again, I do hate and would hate to see my fellow hobbyists get scammed.  Bargain Gate should be reserved for deals that can be readily duplicated.

I don't honestly think the fellow that posted it in the bargain gate was being malicious (and I'm assuming you don't either  ). I posted it here first (with a warning that the seller was potentially suspect) because I felt like the group following this thread knows the risks. I also know the risks, I also don't have much time to mess with refunds, but I do have lots of time before I feel like I "need" a compressor.

I agree with you Bizill!  A "deal" on ebay of all places from someone with hardly any sales offers at too good of a price to be true...I wouldn't post that "deal" up.  Being we're all willing to buy cheaply made compressors vs the Bauer units and what not, we ought to be careful where we buy from.  For all we know, Bizill, is that these things could be refurbs or factory rejects.  Only way I'd want to post a deal is if a seller who is actually a legitimate distributor had a coupon code or Chinese New Year sale or something to that effect.

We've already encountered 2 bogus deals.  One seller sends coins and another, what, asks for more money?  Hot "dang", Bizill, you're such a card for pointing this out.

I know there was no malicious intent by the poster.  But there are LOTS of people who read the forums and some don't even become members here that might see those deals and go on to get scammed, long after we who've been following these "deals" have learned the truth of the scam.  We must all be cautious and watch each others' backs.  I see we're now talking about a 3rd "deal" already in this thread alone.  Sheesh.

Once more for the record, I purchased for "Chon Electronics" on Aliexpress.  No, i'm not pimpin' for them.  Buy wherever you want but when I had questions and needed more "tampon" material for my pre-filter, they responded and took care of me.  Should something go awry I know they'll be there to address my concerns.  These Ebay fly-by-night guys will leave you high and dry.  Just wish the compressors left the compressed air high and dry, then no need for hp filters!

Don't be mad, my brother from another mother, we were on the same page at first when you were even pointing toward a potential scam.  That's what we're here for, to look out for one another, even if you end up getting flogged for it which I seem to be.

Well I did not post the eBay compressor deal in the bargain gate knowing that it could be a scam and I do not think any other person that posted did so either.  There are so many chances to get scammed in todays world that it truly is buyer beware. If we waited to know its a real deal before posting it then all would lose out on the deals. Each has their own criteria as to what they are comfortable with when buying off the web so if you are not comfortable then do not buy its really that easy. The only reason I trust and buy off eBay is the fact that the buyer is protected for these situations very well.

Agreed that no one wants to have to deal with being scammed but unless you live in a cocoon chances are you will be scammed at least once in your lifetime. If it does not seem right to you then stay away it just that simple.

I just received my compressor about 30 minutes ago and have no inclination that the seller will not stand behind their product and be there if I need any supplies or assistance and if not then there are plenty more seller on the web to provide me with what I need or desire.

Yep its a real stiff corrugated cardboard box that is secured with the flat nylon straps like heavy freight use to bundle packages in shipping. It would take a very good impact to get to the compressor since there is another 1 1/2" of Styrofoam inside the cardboard box as well.

Yippee Ky Yay no more all day filling tanks now and more time shooting .

Now that I have the compressor I will be gathering the rest of the supplies to get it up and running tomorrow. Then just swap it for the shoebox setup and plumb the hoses and water bucket and away we go.
