Before I found about the large GOLD filter I purchased the Diablo filter about a month ago.

Bob I have the diabolo air dry system as well. I found the gold filter on Ali express after the fact for cheaper. The only difference is the color. Go figure

I had seen the gold filter when I first ordered the Tuxing compressor I'm using now. I knew about the Diablo system and that is what I ordered. I hope the gold filter works well for everyone but, with the recent bolt handle breakage issues noted with the PR900 rifles, I'm glad I have a product sold by an American vendor for this specific high pressure application. The two could very well be made in the same factory and using the same materials and ultimately they may be exactly the same but 3000 psi (4500 for some guns?) contained inside a metal cylinder is always a concern.

I didn't think the filters were the same? I have one of the gold filters. Mine has two different cotton filters inside. I thought the Diablo had molecular sieve material?

Kurt,

Most,if not all of us, have modified our Gold filters to use sieve and carbon. I do use about an inch of the tampon at each end of my modified gold filter.

The tampons MIGHT be enough, the sieve/carbon will do a better job of getting DRY air in your tanks and or guns.

When I said "the same", I meant in terms of the tube material itself and not the drying/filtering material inside. I hope both the Diablo and the gold filter are made of high quality material for the tube body and end caps. Recent breakage of bolt arms on some PR900's just made me more conscious of the issue of material strength, especially with contained high pressure near me.

I think this is true for any filter... let gravity help as much as it can

I have my gold filter mounted vertical, I use the "black" yong heng filter as a pre filter, also vertical.

is there a supplier for the pre-filter that has quick-connects for hooking the input hose up from the pump and output directly to the gold filter ??

How I have mine set up.
Waiting on the check valve for the input side.
Also am checking out bleed valves for the output side so I can release the pressure when filling the p-rod.

The "black" filter comes with the yong heng compressor. It uses a tampon, I've lined mine with UHMW and added sieve thats thrown out after each use. I do use a small piece of the tampon to "plug" the outlet of the filter... you'll know what I mean if you have the same black filter.

I decided to use the hose end threaded directly into the black filter, then the black filter threads directly into the intake of the gold filter. On the discharge of the gold filter is a foster, I hook my micro bore hose to this and then my tank.
