I had read they were drained before shipping if its shipped by air.
The 6000 psi check valve arrived today and I installed it between the black and gold filters after adding quick disconnects on both ends. I then proceeded to top off one of my SCBA tanks. The valve worked just as I had hoped. I was able to purge the compressor without having to shut off the SCBA valve. This makes filling the tanks just as easy as filling a gun directly.

BobHere's the 6000 psi stainless steel check valve that I ordered: http://www.discovervalve.com/INCVSS01.htmlIt was $26.90 including shipping. You will also need 1/8" NPT quick disconnects for each end unless you plan to connect it with threaded connections.

Why do you want one for each end of the filter?
Quote from: elguapo99 on July 14, 2017, 10:59:27 AMWhy do you want one for each end of the filter? My goal was to hold pressure in the large filter after a refill, but after giving it some thought a check valve on the out put won't work, so I think that I will add a needle valve together with a bleeder on the output that will allow the filter to stay pressurized to save time for the next refill. I will add the check valve on the input side of the filter as you suggested. I found that it takes quite a few minutes to fill up the empty filter. Bob
