does the synrod stock have sling studs ?
reason i ask, i just bought a syn stock for my marauder to hunt with. my bipod connects to the stud.
but i like what you did, much more meat for strength.....

Yup.... sling stud were already there. I like these cuz their easy on and off and I have the same rails on other guns to use them on.

Oh no.... the legs I had.. they come in a pair. The weaver rail is what I thought was to be a pair and came a single.

Tracking shows that the Weaver rail delivery has been bumped up from Friday to Thursday. Eager to get this thing on the bench with the legs and stretch them out a bit. I think I've also decided to take that 1" Weaver rail and fix it under the stock just ahead of the sling stud to attach the light when needed.

Just bringing the old thread back to the front....
I received the JSAR light weight air tube today. The plan is to dig back into SynBad this weekend. The GAMO Urban has been getting more shooting time lately. 1.5 pounds in weight reduction should even the score some. Who knows, I may be closer to getting it sent to Shadow for that awesome paint job.

Well, here we are...
Doing the JSAR light weight SROD GenII air tube install this morning.
I want to give a shout out to Haj and his installation video seen at this link:

This one, if not, the best "how to" video I've ever watched. Haj put this video together so professionally. He refers to schematics and speaks clearly without adding the fluff others junk their videos up with. Either if you've never been inside of a PCP or you've been tinkering/tuning forever, this video will give you confidence to safely and properly make this particular upgrade.

For me to take pics and step by step explanation would be redundant after watching this video so I'm not even going to waste that time. I'm doing exactly what Haj did, move by move in his video. Right down to using the fiber glass broom handle to push the guts out and back in. I told Betty Lou she could have it back when I'm done.
I'm not installing a regulator or the SS balanced valve. I'm using the stock valve, gauge block and gauge, TSS and MDS hammer from Rocker1. I'm not going to tie the nylon string (fishing line) on the depinger because I don't anticipate going back in and I also have hooked tool to pull it out if I do.

At this point I have the gun completely disassembled and the components all cleaned up. I'm ready to put it back together. I am only about 30 minutes into the upgrade so far. I didn't have the degassing tool so I have to shoot the gun down from around 2800 psi. That took about half of that 30 minutes.

Something I did notice..
I heard some (including Travis) say that the JSAR light weight tube is variably shorter than the stock tube. I was very happy to find that not true with the one JSAR sent me. As a matter of fact, it's about 1mm longer.
Guys, holding one of these tubes in each hand is like holding a steak dinner complete with baked tater in one hand and a cheeseburger slider in the other. I'M STOKED !!! ... and hungry.

All back together now. Not a single issue with re assembly. If anything, it would be putting the depinger in. It fights going past every single thread for the fill port assembly. I've learned from my "lego" gun builds to use a blunt object to coax o-rings past holes in the tube so as not to 'nic' them. It would do you well to do this as well.

BTW... I originally received 2 MDS hammers from Rocker1 (thanks David).
One is marked 49.5 and the other 44. I installed the 44. I also went back in with the same TSS spring setup that I had in it in previous posts in this thread. So, this gun has the same exact tune on it that it had before I began the upgrade. If my chrono has good batteries in it I'll post some strings. I also have the NSA slugs to try out.
As for now, I aired the gun to 2600 psi to check for any leaking and to insure it was cycling correct and smoothly. It feels butt butter smooth... I would imagine.

Bill I've already got the TSS on mine, if I want to use my degassing tool I need to put the original rear cap on to degass it first, I just shoot it down myself but the degassing tool is going to be a requirement for my SS valve. I haven't ordered the lightweight tube yet but hopefully soon. Haji hit a home run with that tutorial on that upgrade though.

Oh yeah..... the gun now feels "GAMO Urban" light. It's the way Crosman should have built it in the first place. But... add another $150 plus shipping to the cost of the SRod for this tube........ You also have to use an MDS hammer so as not to scar the delicate material that the tube is made of with the stock steel hammer.... another $50. With the MDS you'll most likely want to also go with an SSG or TSS, yet another $50 to $80. With the UTG SWAT scope w/sidewheel AO at $100 and this is, by nearly 3 times, my most expensive air gun had I paid full prices for all included.
The original gun came to me in a trade.
The TSS was sold to me at a discount from another member.
Rocker1's generosity provided the MDS hammers.
The UTG scope was bought from the GTA classifieds at a great deal and I did pay full price for the JSAR tube.
If not for the GTA and it's members I wouldn't have it at all. The GTA is truly a Great Place To Be !!!

Now, let me fill my tanks and get to shootin'

I would think if you could find a screw long enough with matching threads as the adjuster on the TSS you could degas with it. I haven't looked for one yet.

28 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Air Rifle Pellets | .217 Caliber Air Gun Slug | Swaged

Don't fit SynBad's mag. Too long. They do cycle in the Urban and SPA Varmint.
Guess I'll have to use the single shot tray to shoot them in the SRod.
