Probably right. I was thinking if one was on the upstroke as the other was on the down stroke.. but it don't matter. You and I both know I ain't gonna build nothing of the sort anyhow. That's $100 towards a Chinese compressor... Heck, a few more weeks and those will be $200.

I'm really surprised that Crosman is even still selling their pumps, people in general that buy them must not be aware of how bad the pumps really are.
When I bought the pump that Earl is talking about for $49.99 I paid 64.99 plus $15 shipping and that was direct from China, it's truly a stainless
pump which makes it rust free, really the only thing to wear out on them is the o rings.  If you use good silicone oil in them they'll probably last a
really long time.  Mine came with an extra set of o rings to boot.  I posted a picture of it probably ten pages or more back in this thread. Now there's even
a video on youtube putting water in one to cool but I wouldn't ever try that because it's an accident waiting to happen, I've already seen a guy who
posted how water shot out of his pump when he got it.  Supposedly the Chinese guy uses the pump with water in it though.

seems to me , you get a pump for 49.99 shipped you pretty much plan on a reseal right off the bat , and a basic quality control inspection.What we need in this thread is a " out the box " tutorial on what kinda issues there might be ..

Mine came with some oil inside, instructions to pump it a few dozen times before use.

Works great. The gauge is suspect. Other than that, it's a win.

Honestly, anyone who thinks the other more expensive pumps aren't made in china are kidding themselves.

I'm fine not paying an extra $150 for some stickers

I just ordered another at the $50

My original $72 has been used a lot over the last few weeks, no water has ever leaked out.
A fair bit of oil was on the exposed first inner sliding surface, enough to drip past the exposed oring and onto the feet.

I wiped that off but some more oil has collected with all the usage, not enough to drip out but a fair amount on the oring there.
Not sure if oil is stored in between one of the chambers like how I assume the water is.

well, it works fine!! pump delivered today, I didn't expect it in two freaking days Nicely boxed and padded. Only thing I had to install was the pressure gauge. Good amount of lube on it but not dripping silicone. NO, ZERO water in the second stage After checking it over real good and reading the directions(funny stuff!) adding water is not mentioned the engrish manual.

I put in the included pressure check fitting and took it up to 3500psi in about 7 pumps, not bad! bleeding off the pressure showed no signs of water, lube or moisture.

The fill whip is fairly nice but time will tell how good it is... the female foster fitting snaps right on every male fitting I have, mostly Benjamin with a Hipac and a couple Chinese AG's in the mix. The Blue thingie between the foster fitting and hose has a little fiber filter in it, nice touch! The fitting are brass, not sure how I feel about taking brass up to 4500PSI.... Thankfully, none of my guns even need a 3000PSI fill.

I pumped up my Prod from 1800 to 2600PSI in 35 strokes. This pump is easier than the benjie by a small margin. The gauge on the pump and the one on the gun were within 50-75psi... keep in mind I'm not positive either is correct.

Also included were what looks like a full Oring kit,6 8 of the little fiber filters and a cheap wrench as well.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. I'm kinda thinking I should have ordered TWO

Yep, I'm known for taking something out of the box and tearing it apart just because I can


forgot to add. I've got about a dozen fills off the pump so far, No issues yet.

I did make one small mod. Since the air intake is between the handle and top of the tube and can't easily be modified to accept a descant cartridge. I folded up a piece of filter mesh and sandwiched in between the handle and tube port. Might help keep a little dust out of the pump...

Little update on my pump.


Yesterday was a ruff day for my arms and shoulders... I shot several guns through out the day, LOTS of pumping

No issues at all with the cheap ebay pump. last night, I tore the pump down to inspect and lube a bit.

All the O-rings look new, no tears or noticeable ware. The sliding surfaces all look smooth and shiny, no burs or odd ware patterns.

I used silicone grease and oil to lube it and just reassembled, no need to replace anything. With fresh lube, the pump does seem a bit smoother, still works fine.

I had no heat issues and my pump has NO water in it. I only pump 35-75 strokes at a time.  The tube gets just warm to the touch, I didn't shoot a temp reading but I'd guess 90-100 degrees after about 75 strokes. I normally pump 50 or less strokes so heat build up is not a problem nor is the lack of water in the second stage(not that this pump ever had water in it)

I never pump more than 30 consecutive times.  I break for 15min. before I use it again, but I rarely get to pump the Disco's that much, unless I am filling both of them back to back.  One of these days I will use the pump on one of the Condors just to see how many pumps it takes to get the 500cc tank close to 3K psi, but I am not looking forward to it   And more importantly, I don't want to break the pump...

My normal fill with a hand pump is 25-40 pumps before stopping. Since I'm doing most of my shooting at home, I can keep the fill small and more frequent. I just did a couple of 75 stroke fills just to see how the pump handled a little more than normal use as far as heat build up is concerned. I'm pushing 50 years old, these "tests" won't be happening again

I've thought of motorizing using one of these budget pumps and have been looking for a "donor" but haven't thought about a drill press. Says its 1/2 hp. Wonder what size motor is needed...I may need something bigger, since I'd like to have a twin pump setup.
