What do you use for holsters Bill? I would like to find a decent leather holster that fits well

I too am looking for a holster, but I'll probably be using a red dot sight.

One of the reasons I'm trying to not shoulder brace my 2240 is so I can holster.  Once I finalize what optic's going to ride on it I will break out the Kydex :-)
You might peak at some youtube videos, if you can disassemble an AG you can probably handle a DIY Kydex...best of luck and enjoy your 2240!

You could attach an AR adapter though to switch it into a carbine should the need arise.

Found Gippeto’s to be the best in fit and finish, but I think others find them too flashy, and you have to screw in the stock properly; not a quickie, obviously.

I like it that they have built-in power adjusters.

Some of them are hybrids: 22xx and 17xx/PROD compatible.

Bill, could you post a pic of how the ruger sight is secured by the drill bit? I still can't seem to wrap my head around exactly what your talking about? I did find most of the components earlier, breech, barrel, disco front sight, smooth 2300 tube, a prod trigger, bolt, front plug, barrel band and an old valve. Need a few o rings, rebuild kit or a new valve, hammer , rva , spring and a rear sight. I have a baker aluminum so I may try that and a factory rear for now until I can get that ruger sight figured out lol.

The guns are out in the Red Shed right now but I went back to the beginning of this thread and took a clip of one of those pics. You can see the drill bit shank in the dove tail just in front of the peep base. Basically you hook the rear of the dovetail on the peep into the groove the find the right size drill bit to fit tight in the front. I can't remember the exact size bit but a little test fitting will get you the right one.
I could just leave it as tight but I didn't want it to move if bumped so, after getting the windage adjusted, I put a drop of super glue on it.

How do you like shooting with this setup? I don't know anyone else that shoots a pistol with a peep. I've considered it just because it would be really easy to get a dovetail grove peep sight. I love them on a rifle, just not sure about a pistol.

It's usually a peep or a red dot on pistols for me. The scope on Willie G. is optional and was on there for pellet testing purposes.

Hi All,
I built this 2250 specifically because of the Willie G/Twisted Sister pair - so thank you for the inspiration.  My valve and assorted springs are completely stock - the barrel is the OEM 2240 7" barrel and dropped right in - it's a 177 but I have a 22 as well.  The RVA is OEM Crosman, I forget what model it came off of.  The Williams sight has been replaced with an LPA.

In the interest of documenting performance, I'll run a cart and chrony and do some accuracy testing. 

I have an RVA from Mellon on the way. Once the RVA comes in I'll be making an SSG.  For now the gun is 100% OEM parts & specs.  When the SSG is installed I'll leave the valve alone and see what i does to performance.  After that , I may mess with the valve.

Question:
If the valve volume is decrease, will it affect velocity?  By adding a sleeve to the valve body volume will be decreased but no moving mass to affect the operation o the stem, springs, etc.  The goal is to tune the air use required for effective velocities.  Sure there might be some waste but not as much as the spring bounce for instance.

That's a good question to which I don't have the answer. But I'd love to see your results if you don't mind posting them here.
These 2 guns weren't built with any specific goal in mind. They were done with 75% to 90% leftover spare parts and what came out of that is what they are.... fun little gas hogs.

I will of course post results of "valve stuffing" - for as much info I've gleaned out of here, I'm happy to provide info - even if it's in the "what you don't need to waste time doing" category.

My purpose is to have a sexy little pester handy if needed and a fun plinker.  The whole Lego, drop in fit aspect was a big contributor.  It's also going to be something of a test platform for the SSG - I have a couple 22xx's that could benefit.

For the valve stuffing, I'm considering using leather because I have some and it's easily fabricated...  Or possibly put a sleeve on the valve stem but that may change the operation of the system, even a nylon sleeve has mass.  Ease of fabrication is a consideration as I don't have access to a lathe other than my drills and dremels.  I'll create a separate post on it.

I'm building mine using parts from different sources - RVA from Mellon (to facilitate easy spring swaps), a brake line nut to replace the inner nut, a trip to LHS (Local Hardware Store) for the bolt, nuts and spring, etc.  I can to this list after a lot of reading on the SSG and stumbling on the brake line piece in the middle of another topic.  Look for my write up when I get going.
