Went from 900max to 964fps with jsb 35 pellets.
Going to try for pics

Did some shooting today at 45-50 yards.
I need to work on trigger some but overall I'm am real happy with my 35cal Hercules.

Tomorrow I hope I can get the new valves made and barrel crown done.
Going to have an extra 30 and 35 cal pellet probes made.
And two valve rods that have been shaved down where seal is.

Done so far, barrel port drilled out, pellet probe shaved down, and I filed down the valve shaft down.

Hammer spring has been a head ache for sure. Might look into a lighter/shorter spring

Jsb 81gr 964fps 167fep. So far. This might be the limit as I don't have any heavier pellets or slugs that can fit.

The 30 cal didn't have big increase of fep but we have shoot the 44gr jsb over 1080fps and the 50gr jsb over 1030fps.

As you can tell in pics the air tanks are not steel. (Lots have said they were)

I see as usual almost everyone is consumed about how much FPE can I get.......Do you EVER balance that shooting with groups as testing to see where accuracy is going at the same time?

? Up to a certain speed and increase more, and accuracy is like a shotgun. If you can't hit anything what good is it....

So many of posters here seem to be so happy they can shoot inch and a half, 5 shot group at 50 yds..........Then that is 3" at 100, WOW............I don't know how accurate your guns are but skimming through your write ups all it seems to me is, I can make

? FPE..

I like POWER probably more than most but needs to be balanced at the accuracy node, especially if killing animals or trying to..........IMO

Hey Carl, good point.

I shot some under inch groups at 45-50 yards today with my 35. And 1 half inch group, and I'm not even used to this trigger. When I get used to the gun I think it will stack holes.

I tend to like shooting hatsan's around 930-960fps depending on the gun.
My brother's 30 cal is a little hot right now but what we are doing will become clear when I let the cat out of the bag.

Right now I'm interested in bringing down the Es and getting the bell curve to have a curve and not a drop off.

This post is just tuning. I hope to end up with the most usable power, shots, low Es that I can. But at 1st I always go power then bring it down if I need to.

AMEN to that Carl! I'm starting to see videos of powder burner hunters (many are PROs) getting there hands on these new airguns and they are just so stoked the thing can KILL something. The point is, Accuracy is becoming a thing of the past it seems when it comes to airguns cause you certainly don't see picture post or video post of groups as much IMO.

The Hercules takes some getting used to with the trigger, I hope I can tune the trigger a little to make it better but it's way different than the bt65 or the at44 platform.

I'm not going to lie and say I got better groups than what I did but it was me the shooter, not the gun.
I was changing holds a lot and trying to find what works today.
I did have many that went into the same hole so that leads me to think the gun will deliver on the shots when I learn it.

Again I'll say this is just a tuning thread, if I was half as good at shooting as y'all are trolling I'm sure I would have had great groups today.

Because I had and opinion about what your doing and IT IS TROLLING?...........I would re-think that!!!!

Ok......I'm going past that.

Moving on now.

For all of you that took the bt65/at44 apart you will know that blocking off the ports on the valve and leaving one straight up would really help out the Es and even get more shots.

I'm going to have a new valve made with no holes and drill out 1 that feeds into the transfer port.

Last thing I really need help with is the spring, I think it's too much even backed off all the way at factory setting.

If this was a bt65 I would back off the hammer spring but I can't with this. Think I need a weaker spring but I do not know anything about springs or even a place to buy them.

Any info on springs would really help me now.
Hoping the valve will fix a lot of this but I'm thinking I may need to change hammer spring.

The new valves I'm having made for both guns should be finished tomorrow.

In pic, this part connects bottle to block. It has the same holes that the valve spring holder in the bt56/at44 did.

I drilled them all out one size bigger.

Hope to get barrels recrowned tomorrow and that just leaves putting the guns back together and setting to fps I want to shoot.

I'll see how it goes before I mess with hammer spring any.

both tanks are connected by the line in the pic.
No real reason to take rear tank off other than I found some shavings in my front tank. (Other gun didn't)
I'll check that out and clean if needed.

Valves are going to be running late, the guy at shop said he had to order new brass.

Today I noticed something, the barrels on the bt65 25/30 are the same barrel as the Hercules 30/35.
Same thickness, length just cut different on how the barrel goes into the block. (Getting barrels out to get recrowned) well maybe next week. Deer hunting has my gun smith busy.

I planned on mostly shooting pellets but it would have been nice for hatsan to give us a wider clip or loading space. 30 cal and 35 cal clips are the same thickness.

Wonder if the 22 and 177 cal has same width clips? Could shoot some nice size pellets/slugs.

I actually think both of them are great guys.
Shooting an air gun at 1000yards!!!! That's incredible!!!

But it's so easy to have a thread go way off topic for some reason in here. I was just wanting to shut that down as soon as I could. Guess I should not have even paid it any mind.

But I think I'm one of the 1st people to go into the Hercules and found that it has the same old tunning suspects the bt65/at44 did.

Found the bottle was not steel, I posted the bottles threads, I found that more power could be attained.
I did some searching for this info before I started and I did not find anything in English on net or YouTube.

What I'm really interested in is seeing how much the new valves help extreme spread. Was a hold up on theses but I hope they will be made soon.

When I get the gun done I plan on doing a you tube vid.

I could have used set screws, Jb wield on the valve and did the same thing but sometimes Jb wield does break loose and I wanted a cleaner install. So I'm having new ones made for the 30 and the 35cal.
