Next Ad On.

The gun on this 70 FPE tune and with the Neil Clague LDC is pretty darn quiet but, It does have a ping, something that I could live with but if we can improve, why not ?

So today I received my Depinger from Will Piatt

I will try to get it in this Week End.

I have a Mongoose hunt planned so the gun will stay in the present Tune/Configuration until I get this hunt done.

Nice. I've got one in my fully shrouded .22 Rainstorm & even though the rifle is cranked up to just under 50fpe, it's very quiet. Way more sound from the pellet impacting the target than from the rifle itself. Will Piatt does great work.

Got the Depinger in today,

Unscrew the fill unit with the probe

Inside the tube. dry as always and I HandPump.

a little silicone on the depinger

Push it to the end of the tube

get the fill unit on and than the shroud unit

I never tighten the barrel band until the shroud is in place

All done

All it's left to do is go and shoot a great gun with zero ping now

Never had one tuned before, but I think this gun could be something special.

A Will Piatt tune is always nice, he does a great trigger, and he installs a Transfer port Adjuster so it makes it very easy if you want to power the gun up or down,
you can fine tune it real nice.

Randbo got me all fired up with his Storm .30 great hunts

So right now I'm replacing the 70 FPE spring with the 85 FPE one, and since I had 2 consecutive successful spot and stalk hunts I wont feel bad next Wednesday go hunt my feeder, I will also make sure I'll bring my camera mount to see if I can get the hunt on film.

Well, last week hunt turn into nothing,

However, in keeping with the Chronicles I have to say that the Storm .30 took its 1st porker, matter of fact it took two

Did I mention before that I love this rifle

The original is 95 FPE, I have than this one for 85 FPE and one for 70 FPE

Yup, that makes sense as I could hit 930s with JSB 50gr, thanks. I still have done nothing, buts its broken in by now, so its time.

After yesterday fantastic twofer on those boars I'm putting the 70 FPE spring back on ( planning a mongoose hunt )

Also I got a longer trigger blade screw ( M3 if anybody is interested )

Like this I can shim the trigger blade so it drops a bit and sit better with the tactical stock

It now sits perfectly

And the tactical stock is back on ready for action

It seems to be that inside this thread is most experienced guys for Rainstorm PCP base I ask for help.

My NXwerks QR Bulpup shoots 25,4 gr JSB Jumbo monster at max. 900 FPS by pressure 2700 PSI within grouping 2MOA up to 60 Yards. Unfortunately at larger distances some pellets start spiraling.

It is the reason that I sagest to reduce power to be usable for 18.13gr Jumbo heavy.
Because I believe that my Bulpup has the same base parts as JKhan Noblesse and Evanix RS2 I have purchase next regulator.

Which pressure have I set to reach 900 FPS ?
Haw many wheels I have cut of from hammer spring ?

Also I am thinking to add gaude at front of air reservoir.

My air reservoir has outer diameter 35mm . Rainstorm has the same ?

I like the plain look of your bullpup, Peter- clean lines!

Also, if pellets are spiraling, it's going too fast for the twist rate of the barrel and is destabilizing. Might be worth slowing things down a little more.

So, do we all agree that reviews on guns should really extend to cover long time durability/performance ?

Well it has been one year and a half since I got my Storm .30

this is what it looks like today.

Other then swapping the stock to the one that came with an other Storm .30 that I got me a couple months back the gun is exactly what it was long time ago, this gun never been to a tuner, all I did was adjust the trigger ad a Will Piatt depinger and now is running on the 85 FPE spring.

Zero problems with this gun in one and half years of hard use, killed a bunch of game, shot it plenty and not a single problem not even a minimal one, magazine is flawless, never a hint of a leak and no hickups with the action and trigger, never a POI shift ( and I even dropped it couple weeks back from that coffee table you see in the background to the stone floor

)

I'm all about rugged reliable guns and this Storm is on par with the others that I had through the years.

Not the most refined guns, but if you looking for a relatively low price built to last and work Hunter it's hard to go wrong in this direction.

Will update again when we hit year 3

In fact, I would love for you to copy and past this on the Rainstorm Arrived thread we have going. You have given great info there. and the more the better!

Or at least, If you don't want to go to the trouble, I would be glad to do it myself.
