I was hitting a steel plate at 150 with the 50 daq. and hitting propane tanks at 100 with the rws 350 even hit the steel plate at 150 with the rws 350 22 cal, Thanks had a good time hope I get invited again, got to shoot my theoben some to.

That was Jim. Saw him posting in the Darkside gate and he's a newbie like me and I knew he'd get some friendly help if he could make it. Glad you finally got to spend some time w/a Gladius.

Donny is a genius with the Hatsan Gladius and the BullBoss. Thanks again for the help with my Gladius Donny. I KNEW that trigger could be better. Donny thought that trigger was about 6 pounds when we started. I believe it. It was HORRIBLE. Now it's sweet as can be.
He gave me an oring to put on the hammer too. It lightened up the "PING" a bit.
I started trying some heavier pellets and wound up with the Barracuda match grouping fairly well at 30 yards, and we didn't even need to tune the curve really. It puts those 10.6 grain pellets out at about an average of 950 FPS if I keep the pressure between ~180-108 BAR. I could hit the 80 yard targets fairly consistently, but the 100 yard shots were impossible. I even tried the HUGE 150 yard target, but had NO idea where the pellets were landing...

Donny has his Bullboss unbelievably quiet. It's amazing.

Later on I'll post some pix and maybe a video of Troy's .50 cal making that 150 yard shot... Unfortunately, I can't remember what brand that gun was... But what a HOOT! It put a ball slap through a 2x6 at about 40 yards. I don't think it even made that board bounce as it went through...

I had several adventures yesterday, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Jim so glad you got to go. I knew those fine boys would help you out. Donny helped me quite a bit w/my AT44 long when the magazine lever broke. They've forgotten more than I'll ever know.

Jim, that gun Troy let us shoot is .50 cal Quackenbush Gun. I think Troy has a gun problem like most of us if all those guns he brought with him was only a fraction of his collections.

I'm no master, I just keep taking things apart and tearing my own stuff up first, before I tell you guys anything,lol! Troy brought a freaking collection with him, and it was awesome! He had a lot of guns I've never heard of, much less seen. I still think Jesse gets the marksman award. He did shoot gravel off the top of 100 yard target, multiple times. I'm still in awe of how accurate that Vulcan was...

I was also pleasantly surprised by the P12 Steve brought. That is nice looking little gun, and of course the Condor is a beast! It was great meeting all you guys, and shooting your guns didn't hurt either

Awesome time at the North GA fun shoot/ mudbogg, thanks again Jesse for hosting the event and generously sharing the nitro fills. Troy came loaded for mouse to bear, and that .50 cal Quackenbush was a cannon. Donny's Bullboss sure caught my eye, not that I could hit the rocks at 80 yards like he was. Jesse's Vulcan just couldn't miss, even out to 150 yards.

Half inch spinners at 40 and 50 yards in a rain so hard the range finders wouldn't work still seemed easy for the Vulcan and the P12.

Jim, I was impressed that the Gladius power wheel worked perfectly and the results of changing the setting was immediately visible through the chrony.
Trinh, sorry that you didn't get to shoot the big iron, maybe next time, but the Cricket is a piece of art. I think you knocked over a rock or two at 80 and 100 also.

A few pix...

I was one of the ones who got lost up in those mountains by following Google Maps. A word of warning; be sure to look at the route before you get there to make sure you're actually going where you want.

I wound up on this paved single track (Mountain Cove Road) which turned into gravel road (Miller Cove Road), and upon which Google Maps announced that I had "arrived at my destination". As the crow flies, I wasn't that far away, after all, Jesse's place was just down the mountain a piece... And I do mean "DOWN". Anyway, I busted out in helpless laughter when Google Maps told me to "continue straight" on a mountain goat trail upon which there wasn't even enough room to turn a wheelbarrow around, much less my Ranger.
Saw a Turkey run across this road though, which was a bonus. Plenty of deer and other wildlife up there.

Anyways, be aware that the GPS might steer you wrong if you go visit Jesse...

After my adventure on the fine mountain roads that Google apparently has no clue about, I did wind up in the right place, even it was up another single track paved road. This time I knew it was the right one when I saw canopies and targets set up...

Steve is shown here with his P12, which is one sweet little varmint rifle, that I actually took the time to shoot.... One regret I have is that I didn't take the opportunity to shoot more of the rifles you guys brought. I'll have to remedy that next time...
And then we have Troy with one of his break barrels. I think this might be the Theoben, (which I didn't know was pronounced Thweeben) which was a pretty accurate and hard hitting shooter even up to 100-150 yards.
And you can see my Gladius there on my homemade folding bench.
Also a pair of pretty bullpups that I have no idea what they are.
And last Steve's Condor keeping the cooker company. I was impressed at the sound level of that thing until I heard the .50 cal Quakenbush go off. I'll post the video of it if I can figure it out.
Sorry I didn't get a picture of you, Trinh (Tin Soldier). Trinh's a great guy, full of energy, who kept us all laughing. Next time I need to try out your rifle too, sir!

Oh. Almost forgot...
We got rained on pretty well. Heard tell that Jesse got quite a bit of water down his back on Friday when someone opened the cabin door and disturbed the canopy. Whee!
Here's a taste of what it looked like on the range. And folks (Jesse, Donny, and Steve) scrambling to get the stuff out of the water.

The rain made it kinda interesting getting the trucks back out of the deep woods parking lot too. Jesse wound up getting stuck down there and having to get the tractor to pull it out. Luckily Steve and I got our Rangers out with not too much difficulty.
Well... Not difficult if you don't count me having to borrow Steve's expensive custom hanger* to break into my Ranger and get the keys out of the ignition... Oops. Forgot they were there after rolling up the windows during the rain, and consequently locking the doors with the key turned on, and not noticing til hours later. And then having to jump off my dead battery. Yep. I did it. How embarrassing!

All part of the adventure. I wouldn't change a thing!

*Steve, I promise to bring you another just like it.

Here is a vid of the .50 cal Quackenbush going off. The video doesn't do the muzzle blast justice (it even flutters the canopy). But you can hear the lead hit the 150 yard target...

We all had huge grins on our faces when we shot it. It was like; "do it again!"

All in all, it was a great day.

Good food, great company, lots of laughter and good natured ribbing, good fun, great rifles.
And being up in the mountains was a bonus. It's gorgeous up there. What a spectacular sunset over on Ts Jarrard road.
