Ok, now that I see the whole picture of the gun. It doesn't look bad. As long as it is quiet and shoots accurate.

I hope so. I got a little worried when I started reading the comments after he said that he torched it.

Have any of you seen anything that you can buy or make that covers the portion of the barrel between the cheek piece and the shroud on the Cricket? I want it to look like one continuous long shroud. I was thinking of using some carbon fiber wrap to encompass the shroud and the added moderator, then maybe a piece of foam with the same wrap would work. Kinda of like your handlebars on your bike when you were little.

Chad, I would not be worried too much about the discoloration that is easily fixed. as far as the pellets go I buy from airguns of Arizona because when I did the math they were the cheapest option and yes sometimes they are out of stock on pallets, likely they come back in stock rather quickly and I never wait until I'm out of ammo to order pallets.

What do you mean by a box I know they have them 30 tens to a case, and if that's what you want that's fine I was thinking about getting a case of 25.39 myself.

That's great that you buy in bulk. I usually try to keep around 3-5000 pellets on hand and re-order when I drop below 2000.

I'm still waiting to find someone that has the .22 25grain STRATONs in stock. I want to try them out for accuracy, since the regular monster 25 grain pellets are so darn finicky about fps/accuracy.

I just got that tin of .25's from you when we shot. I don't get to shoot as much as the rest of you, as in I've not even shot the gun since I was up there almost 3 weeks ago. So I'm ok for now.

I am good Jesse. I want to see how the ones I ordered work first, before I order in bulk.

I have been talking to Neil Clague and he can redo my shroud and add a "center piece" between the shroud and cheek piece for a very reasonable price - so it looks like one long shroud. That middle space is the only thing I don't like about the Cricket.

Neil Clague makes a good LDC but you need to check with him about if it is removable. Also, most of the time I know he requires you to send in the gun which means down time. I loved my Donny Du but after a while, it made the gun too long. The good thing was, it is removable so I can resort back to stock length.

Have you guys ever seen someone with a hydro-dipped gun stock? I am thinking of doing it in a dark, brown burlwood or gray wood grain. There is a group that does it professionally near my office, but I am wondering about its durability. I was thinking of hydro-dipping the stock, then covering the shroud in carbon fiber vinyl wrap.

There are some guys on GTA that have that. Never done it nor have I held one. Not sure how it would hold up. You could search the gates for threads on it.

I have seen it done on firearms with success, should work with an airrifle, lots of people clear coat over it to improve the durability.

On a side note, we will be shooting at my place in Cross,SC on June 11th.

This stock was hydro-dipped. I like the look of wood stocks so I've been looking to buy a wood stock. This looks ok but not my cup of tea.

I know you like wood and Voyles has a ton of wood patterns on their site to choose from since they mostly work on cars.

In the gallery, there is a hydro-dipped gun stock with the price of $85. But, in on their pricing page it says $120 and up.

I may stop by their shop just to talk to the guys and I will ask about pricing.

I like the rubber-like feel of that carbine, but with wood over it - that may be interesting.

Now that would be a triple stamp on a double stamp. It's wood that was dipped to look like camo and then re-dipped to look like wood. i'm too confused by that.

Al, I used to live in Charleston, and I raced nitro RC cars in Summerville. Small world!

Norman's gun with the dipped stock feels pretty durable to me, fwiw.

Got the gun 1 hour ago. Not sure how the moderator is attached to the shroud, but it seems to work. It was sent with 150 bar, so I shot a few. The gun is quiet and accurate, I am just going to wrap it in matte black vinyl to be uniform and just leave it. It balances the look of the gun. Also, the wood is nice and not going to hydro dip. I am in the club now.
