It is closed group run by Tony Roman. The name is Airguns: air rifles and pistols discussion group. A guy from airgun depot was doing a review on Hatsan bullboss, so I asked what's the differences between that and gladius.

It might take getting your valve modified to be more efficient to get a longer stream at the power you want.

If you are going to hunt small game up to rabbits or a little larger 117 cal will kill them same as a 22 cal. Think of this in Germany and some other places the power limit is a little over 5 fpe. Make the UK's 12 fpe sound good right? But that level you can still kill most small game at shorter distances.

you can get .177 in 10+ grain pellets but I agree, .177 isn't even the most air efficient so I kind of don't get it.

If you are limited to 12 fpe then .177 has more penetration and a flatter trejectery the. .22 at the same 12 Fpe. .22 at 12 fpe flight path looks like a rainbow at 50yr.

That rat shooting looks like it would be fun, haha! Those 12 fpe guns are quiet. I think the lowest I can tune my gun is 21fpe without making regulator changes. It is "mouse fart" quiet at 21fpe though. I took a spacer out of my hammer/spring, so I can cover from 21-35 fpe without changing the regulator. On my un-regged cylinder I can cover from 25-50 fpe with just spring adjustment

I'm thinking the same mods I've done to my AT-44 applied to a bull boss would make for a pretty sweet, low cost pup setup? I just wish hammer spring changes could be made one handed and on the fly.

Norman, I polished the lead on my barrel, and re-addressed my crown job. I think I got my accuracy better now. I did some tests at 30 yards, and every pellet I tried was making sub-dime sized groups when I didn't yank a shot. I won't know for sure, until I come out to shoot with you/you guys again at some longer ranges.

It's a ton of British ratting videos that got me back into air guns and allowed me to discover what PCPs were. There's a guy in Washington state though that pests rats on a dairy farm w/a PCP pistol w/a green laser dot sight. It's just point and shoot. Crazy.

I have to say that these UK hunting videos look really fun. That is why I asked awhile back if we could investigate local farmers to see if they needed a team of airgun hunter (us) to rid him of their pest problem. I elect Norman as our B.Walton (youtube). But as a rifle specialist (Sumatra King) format since B.Walton loves bullpups. Maybe Glen or Jesse could fulfill that role. Or me or Brian if we ever buy a gun.

I have a guy down here that has a 4 acre pecan grove and I'll get opportunities to knock out some squirrels whenever I want to. The owners live on the property so I want to respect their privacy but I'll see what I can do about bringing a friend or two whenever I go out.

These guys are kind of serving as a model for what I want to do. Even though it's in a pecan grove I'd set up a peanut feeder at a designated spot. They set up 15 yards from the feeder. I think I would be fine at 25 or so just to keep the squirrels that much more at ease. No romping around the woods, ducking branches, etc. I'll try and find a natural blind if not then maybe build or buy one. Set up the feeder in a spot where pass throughs or misses will not be an issue, grab a comfy chair and a shooting platform and wait.

I'll talk to the land owner to see if I buy the peanuts if he'll fill up the feeder so I don't have to run out there too often. In this video he talks about the feeders for a bit, then some gear briefly then the 'hunt' starts at around 7 minutes in. Next would be to find a horse, dairy or chicken farm that could use pesting control. That might include squirrels, chipmonks, pigeons, HOSPs, and Starlings. Even raccoon, opossum and fox might be in the mix. Coyote too. Then get the night set up for rats.

That's a very good price. Can't go wrong with the cricket .25. Gets 40 plus shots. It won't last long . That's why I consolidated and kept my cricket bullpup.
