You were missed Donny. A couple of guys, Chad and Brian, already left by the time Trinh's pics were taken and my little video below. Chad was wanting to check out the Gladius and I think Brian came along as an interested observer. I'm pretty sure Brian is going to end up w/a PCP too. Be fun to see what they get.
Jesse's chrony set up was awesome and it fed data to his phone. I didn't really pay attention to memorizing the numbers because he said he'd email them to me. But after a bit of adjusting I'm down on power but I think I got 2 solid mags at high power and 3 solid mags at power level 4 I think. I guess the biggest discovery and kind of disappointment for me was learning that the Gladius doesn't really save air when shooting on a lower power setting. Also, when I was running over the chrony I was cycling the mags as fast as I could and even with the "anti-double feed" I double fed the gun at least 5 times. But when target shooting that never happened. I also discovered that around 2800psi on Norman's tank gauge reads a bit lower on my gun's cylinder gauge. So I guess I need to just trust the gauges on the pumps/tanks and not the gun. At least with this cylinder. I figured on the way home the Gladius probably has 400 pellets through it by now. I'm still not 100% dialed in on scope relief but getting it closer. I've also come to the conclusion that eye relief for me on high power scopes is next to impossible. I'm guessing it's my glasses. At 24X it's almost the difference between inhaling and exhaling for the relief to be just right for me to see. Way too narrow of a window; I spend 80%+ of my time on the gun just trying to see the target. Lesson learned. My Optima scope is only 10X so it works fine.
Billy's friend, forgot his name, was popping K cups at 103 yards using Billy's Mrod like crazy. I was able to get a few of them at 80 yards. I didn't get anything at 103 this time. It was pretty windy though. I think even w/a PCP my strengths are going to be in the <35 yard zone. I was able to get some at 50 but if I was pesting I'd probably wait until I could get inside of 36 yards. I was also shooting off my cheap bipod on the table for the most part and never used Norman's field pod. Everyone shooting off that typically did better.

Great Video Glen, wish I could have stay a little longer to see Billy's friend taking out the K-cups at 103 yards (that is impressive). Next time honestly, we should do it like at 10-11 am. At least we won't waste half a day. It was still successful turnout thanks to Norman's hospitality. We missed you Donny, new comers would have been impressive at how quiet your Hatsan would have been.

Hey guys,
I wanted to thank all of you who helped Brian and I answering all of our beginner questions and let us shoot your guns. Norman, thanks for setting it up and being such a great host. With PA new 20% gimmick, it looks like I will be buying something today. Like Glen said, great food, great people, - alot of fun. See you all soon. Jesse, watch out, Brian couldn't stop talking about your Cricket carbine on the way home.

Great meeting you and Brian. What's on the wish list from PA?
Oh, if I'm not mistaken Jesse and Norman struck up a deal for that Carbine. Lots of horse trading going on yesterday later in the afternoon.
Hey Jesse, when you get a chance could you tell me the name/model of your chrony? That thing was the bomb. I think mine is great for springers for checking performance on a 10 shot string etc but to get the info you need for multiple shots that locked in 10 shot string gets cumbersome.

I am happy to say that actually holding and shooting the guns; and especially looking through the scopes (Optisan, Hawke SW, Vector, etc.) - I realized I will buy my scope with my Amazon treasury and buy my gun wherever. the only real option on Amazon right now is the Gladius - the BSA R10 and Ataman are no longer available. Not to mention, my wife put a dent in the balance since I have been researching this purchase too long (ha). I really think that smaller carbines and bullpups are my interest. I loved the way the Norman's Sumatra and AT44 look and feel, and like he said they are the "muscle cars" of the bunch. I loved Jesse's Vulcan and Cricket carbine. So, I think I am putting the Brocock Compatto back on the list vs the Gladius. Hopefully, Airguns of Arizona will have one "used" here shortly. For PA offers, I am going to have Brian use his new impulses to spend some money.

I considered the Compatto as well. Don't forget some kind of air source.

It is a Caldwell Ballistic Precision Premium Chronograph, I got it on sale at Cabela's for $109 shipped but I think there is a cheeper one that doesn't have the stand.

Glen, you may want to order some of the H&N 19 grain pellets for your Gladius when shooting lower power levels. That way you could keep the velocity very close, and it would be a good option if you're shooting where you need to worry about pass throughs. I think that gun is capable of more still. Also, if it makes you feel better, I always shoot my gun with the scope on 10X,lol! Granted, my scope is only a 3-12X. I also would have loved to see some of those other guns too
While I didn't go out there with you guys to shoot, I did get a few "pesting" shots off here at the house. I did something I didn't think possible. I took out 3 starlings with 1 shot!! I'd had enough of their racket and running off the other less annoying birds. I waited for some of them to line up in the scope, and I pulled the trigger. I was really surprised when I saw I actually pulled that off,ha! I shot 2 times and got rid of 4 starlings. Funny thing you mention the quietness of my gun, because I took out the first one, and the others didn't even jump
They did when the 3 went down though. I left them there for about an hour, and no starlings came back, which was mission accomplished.
Of course, I missed wasting Norman's air too, lol! I'll make it to one of the next ones for sure.

Chad, the Brocock Compatto looks like a good gun but the extra mags are almost $100 by the time you get the gun and two extra mags you are right up there in the cricket and wildcat territory. There is a used wildcat and a used cricket in the classifieds of AGN, I could not find many top end airguns in this forum. Also check out topgun airguns they have a lot of the top end bullpups there and at vary good prices, I got my Vulcan from them.

It didn't seem too complicated either. I will post the process when he respond to my IM. He also redid the stocks on his BSA guns too and they look better than the originals IMO.

Norman - I like that stock.
Jesse - That is a point about the magazine cost, didn't think of it that way. Plus the FX would be dream. I returned my attention to the Compatto after shooting your Cricket carbine and Glen's Gladius. It seemed like a good mix of both guns. I look at AoA and yellow for used guns. Now, that I am all keyed up with research and real world experience, hopefully I can pull the trigger (no pun intended) on my gun purchase. Thanks again guys.

Holy carp that is a great deal!!!! How did you post a link? I tried too post a link to a cricket that is listed on AGN but it was blocked, the deal you found is a lot better.
Chad, Some times AoA won't post fast selling guns on the website it is best to call them from time to time and see if they have a store demo or used one in. If you get one place bring it to the next shoot I have been wanting to shoot a Campatto even since shot show.
