 It only took off part of the oring and the gun was so loud to begin with I couldnt tell. But It was apparent there was a issue right away.

I figure you're playing with a balanced valve when on shot #9, you figure how to make it a dump valve and empty your entire vessel that's acting as a 2700psi tether.

Hammer lug came loose and tilted at an angle backwards a bit after the first shot.

Valve stuck open on first shot then settled down.

I see the 2700 psi tether but......it looks like a nonregulated gun that got filled quite a bit higher than the tune calls for.

  That’s exactly what happened! It was tethered to and external regulator that had a bad gauge reading much lower than the actual fill pressure. Once I figured it out and shut off the tank that’s string is how many shots it took to get to normal speed again. Moral of the story gauges are not always right and when doing work with a new set up verify it with a known good set up.

 I stopped using white Thread sealant tape long ago I found it did a poor job sealing pcp guns for various reasons including balling up during installation and poor slippage between parts while tightening so I started using ptfe gas pipe tape. Like this.
 50% less failures with this!

 When I have my guns fully assembled I test with leaks with a 1 part dawn dish washing soap 10 parts water mix in a spray gun. I simply spray on all areas of the gun that may leak then wipe down and blow off with compressed air.

 When I have a gun fully assembled and ready to ship or when I’m using it in the field I spray it down and wipe it with SC-1 by Maximus it makes it shine and smells awesome but more importantly it prevents things from sticking to the gun and that’s always a plus.

 I’ve been asked by many people what I use to lube my hammers the answer was and is nothing. I don’t believe in hammer lubes they all fail from either collecting debris or changing viscosity with temperature or absorbing moisture every hammer lube has a weak point. So I either polish the hammer and tube and run it dry or use a MDS hammer that is self lubricating. Never lube hammers ever.

Oh yes. As someone who has used thousands of feet of teflon tape. I keep it far away from my pcp. Pieces can come off and get stuck in places you don't want lol
The "gas" pipe tape you referenced is WAY better if you must use tape.

The "gas" pipe tape you referenced is WAY better if you must use tape.

Also while its obvious to some... The tape needs to be wrapped correctly to have any chance. Wrap in the direction of the threads or it comes of or bunches up.
