If you don't like negative posts about Hatsan, stop reading right now and move to another thread. You will not like this post.
I recieved my "new replacement" 125 from Hatsan USA today. There is absolutely nothing good I have to say, PERIOD.
Yes, they sent me a replacement even though I voided the warranty (Although the problem was clearly and without question a severe manufacturing defect) so let's get that out of the way.
#1. I shipped the rifle back to them at my cost.
#2. I was told I would recieve a NEW replacement.
#3. I received the wrong rifle, again. Instead of a 22 cal, I was sent a 177. Worthless in a max power magnum.
#4. I recieved what appears to be someone elses returned rifle.
#5. This rifle is also of very poor quality.
#6. I did not even fully remove it from the plastic. Just enough to confirm it's garbage. It goes back, ON THEIR DIME, and I demand my money back.
Pictures tell the story. While at first I though it was shipping damage, closer inspection revealed the outer shipping box to be in good unmolested condition. The actual rifle box however, has been almost bent in half, worn and torn edges, the flaps have clearly been opened and reclosed several times, and the corners are crushed. The plastic bag was opened (previous new rifle was sealed). There are tool marks on the scope screws.
At that point, I just took pictures and tossed it back in the box and have no intention of so much as looking at it again.
If I will be pardoned for this one forum transgression, I'd like to say that Hatsan USA can kiss my@$$.
On a happier note my Mike Melick tuned XS28 showed up, and it is good, so some of the sting was lessened. :o

Oups .... :o
-
Gees Paul gracious That's insane, totally insane, I am feeling for you, let us know how things get resolved.
On another note enjoy that Xisico 28, they were really nice copies. the RWS 350 is much much nicer / just cost so much more

Thanks Mike. I agree, it's just nuts. This is not some third party dealer. This is HATSAN USA that shipped this travesty. And to add insult, it's the wrong flippin caliber. ::)
I shot a 350 at the SC Fun Shoot. This XS28 isn't a 350, but it sure as heck comes dang close. I'll be posting a review in awhile. I will say, I now know why Mike is so well regarded.

I would be absolutely ticked off myself!! No excuse for that kind customer service.
I have had those kinds of issues dealing with aftermarket automotive parts many times.
-
UNBELIEVABLE . . .
I am stunned by the pics . . . There is no excuse for this !
Let us know what happens !

Very sorry to hear about your problems.
-
I don't blame one bit!!
After reading another Hatsan post, from someone in New Zealand, the same thng happened there, I think happened a year ago.
Then a citizen of Great Briton said "the same thing" happened there!!
Hatsan can't get it right!!!
-
Paul, you have some of the worse luck. After this they should upgrade you to a gun of your choice or at least a 125 sniper. Really hate to hear how this is going. I kinda wanted a 135 in .25 cal if they ever got them in.
-
Sorry Paul. That really stinks. Come on Hatsan - seriously? :-\
-
I know guys, I was sincerely and honestly hoping for rainbows and moonbeams, and got the Hudson river instead lol.
It gets better. ::)
Check out the sweet bluing and finish on the barrel. (Couldn't help it, had to pull it out and inspect the rifle more closely)
-
That is some BS right there, Paul I feel for you. My 125 sniper in .22 had issues not dissimilar to yours. I didn't crack it but instead sent it back to AGD within the 30 days. They had a new one in the mail to me within 5 working of when I sent the other one back to them.
The jury is out on this rifle for me, but AGD has been an A+ class act througout the entire process. After seeing this post, I am now really valuing being able to deal with them rather than HatsanUSA.
So a big vote of confidence for going with AGD amidst this inconsistent batch of air rifles.
Best Wishes Paul, they should not be doing this to you.

This is just unreal. I am shocked they could send you that as a replacement. Hatsan USA is asleep at the wheel. This really is unbelievable. Clearly nobody checked that gun before they shipped it. I cant wait to hear how they respond.
... I second the A++ for AGD. Scott has had my back with Hatsan.
-
They keep this up they won't survive. I wanted a 135 but not after all this bad press. I can't imagine scott will continue to carry that line much longer if this keeps up. Must cost him a ton of aggravation also. $600 PCPs I wouldn't take the chance with this company.
-
The PCP's seem to be in the upscale neighborhood for Hatsan, the Snipers in the nice middle class part of town, and the plain 125 are the low rent district ;D Gene has had great luck with Hatsan PCP's, so I would feel different about them.
I might just contact Joao since I bought from him originally and see what turns up there. I've e-mailed Hatsan USA and expressed my disappointment, and also sent Blaine Manifold a message as well.
We will see.

I had a sneaky suspicion when I contacted Hatsan USA about my factory defect in my 95, nothing good would come of sending it to a new rental space in a generic industrial park.
FWIW both of my single shot Pnuma's and Hatsan branded AT44PA seem to be fine. These products are not "art" they are a performance assembly. To see the correct materials there, the obvious thought and money spent on packaging them attractively, then assembled without a thought to their longevity is absurd.
I and I'm sure many others here have worked in manufacturing before. To claim the *FEW* precision components used in assembling an airgun cannot be at least cleaned properly is *not* going to work. To claim a reasonable amount of training and QC isn't in the budget, well you better go back to making garden tools and iron implements you have no business claiming world class anything.
*(&^ Cummins tools *sold* B-3's for $20 that had less issue than what we are seeing here ( I bet the factory saw less than $5 a rifle). Now there are I don't know how many container fulls of potentially self destructive Hatsan springers sitting all over the country and Hatsan USA is already starting to simply re churn product?, so much for that outlet.
Sorry just had to vent
Mark

HATSAN USA is nothing but a name.
I did some looking.
The rifle was shipped to me by Global Supplier Solutions.
Nothing more than a third party importer exporter.
If anyone is expecting Hatsan USA to service what they sell, forget it.
-
Sitting here reading these post as my mind wanders in my non reality mode. Thinking if just the parts where shipped over seas where shipping probably would be a lot cheaper. Where Mike Melick would assemble these rifles to be sold across the country. LOL
-
This is just sad. Very uncool.

Absolutley where would xisco air rifles be if it was not for Mike Mellick.
We are aloud to mention his name aren't we? I know the other vendor we are not.
-
That's a real disgrace how they let that ship like that, even the wrong caliber.Unbelievable.
-
%100 agree with you Paul. Hatsan USA has started off on a huge sour note.
-
I would wait at least another month before I'd buy any Hatsan air rifle.
-
Months ago this was one of the hottest topics (HATSAN COMING TO THE USA) Still hot topic with a different face. Your product is only as good as the man selling it. True maybe not but for 30 days most vendors will take care of you. After that, with very little parts available we are stuck with the HATSAN USA. WONDER WHAT THEY ARE DOING WITH ALL THOSE RETURNS, we know they are not shipping them back across the waters. We are seeing a hit and a miss on the hatsan. The 2 I have seem fine. The re-branded WFH is a good gun as well. There are many happy people out there and we hear about that but the bad seems to overshadow the good in this case,
-

My guess is that they will eventually show up as "refurbs" on AirGunDepot's website.

Hatsan USA contacted me.
Offered to give me $40 if I'll keep this thing, as "they want me to be happy". After shipping costs and add ons, that's all of about $5.00 for my trouble, for something I did not want in the first place.
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I gave em an out that I'll mention later depending on their reply. Sent em a photo of the barrel this time as well.

Edison had good PR spin, when you get a chance read up on Westinghouse, Tesla & Marconi. Edison was the "Bill Gates" of his day and was simply better at monetizing his and others work.

What are they saying Paul?
-
I'm curious as to how Hatsan USA inspected it, when it was shipped to me from their third party import/export service Global Supplier Solutions.
I'm kinda keeping most of the contact out of the public eye for now until I see how this resolves. There isn't much they can do to salvage this, and I have no intention of paying more shipping costs to return this one.

More like a cleaning, and proper tune, then a polishing, then you be back to square one with a good rifle. I wouldn't call them a $)((# , lol

I think air gundepot does such a good volume with hatsan,I bet Scott would be able to ship his returns back to hatsa usa, no questions asked. But still tell me that isn't frustrating to deal with for any vendor.. more paper work more money to be refunded more head ake

40 bucks??? How did they come up with a figure like that??
I would have expected a NEW and throughly inspected/tested rifle, like the one you originally had,at the very least!!
That is &^^&!!

I know this is off topic...but here is exceptional CUSTOMER SERVICE....
I purchased a shaft roller rocker arm setup for an engine build,5 years ago.
Then 1 1/2 year ago,I built another engine and used them on that.
While doing an inspection,I found the shafts were excessively worn. I called the company, but they said they had sold the business to another group.
The company then told me to send them to the new guys, for an all expense paid rebuild....no cost to me!
The new owners replaced the bearings and shafts and hardware with much stronger parts!!

If hatsan had that mentally they would of taken the air gun industry by storm for sure.
It feels great when you get customer service like that !

Right now, "Crosman Customer Service" keeps recurring in the back of my mind, reminding me just how important service is. It's right up there with a good product. Lower prices Crosmans have issues, but their customer service makes all the difference in how their company is regarded and how happy customers end up being.
Had this been Crosman, I likely would have made a single phone call, and the issue would have been resolved.
-
Tru that. Crosmans service is top notch.. One call and you would have a new one on the way. Shipping label included free of charge.

Absolutely.
And you would think any company breaking out to the U S market would of
#1 cleaned up all there Q C issues-at the factory.
#2 set up a service department and parts replacement first.
So what kind of message is hatsan sending us? oh well its there company they want to run it like that, they will pay the cost.
In light of all the other guys like me who can fix there own rifles, it does not take away the fact that hatsan operates like that, period. we all know it, none of us like it either.

OK. I emailed them before 10:00 am. It is now almost 5:00 pm, end of the business day and no response. Looks like this is going to be another case of 24 hours or more between each contact.
I am going to be contacting Hatsan in Turkey directly and putting in a major complaint against Hatsan USA.

Broken screw and a faulty seal. Scott offered a replacement at his cost, but I didn't want him to lose out on the $150 because he's such a nice guy.

Scott wouldn't of lost anything, they get there stock at a proper price in order to make it worth there trouble, other wise they would not bother with there business arrangement, return shipping cost is still covered in there profit, believe me. as well as re sending it to you. Scott is A-1 to deal with
-
I hope they improve things for you guys.
Service for them here is non-existent. Hatsan Has been around in Canada for a long time.
Most vendors do not sell them anymore. No walther talons or hunters, no 125's anymore, not that they came in a caliber bigger then 177.
The only place you can get them here that lists them is D&L airguns...all sub 500 fps and NO power house 125 or what not.
Goodluck guys, already been through this, too bad you guys are seeing it now.

He said Hatsan wouldn't service it and that he'd take a loss. No worries, i'll just shoot it itll it's broken then send.it to Shadow for a tune and he can fix the broken screw.

Day 3 after contacting Hatsan USA about this new screwup, and still no resolution.
-
It just goes to show you how disorganized they are. There really is a very basic and simple solution. Really, it's customer service 101. I would love to be a front line representative for a company like that. They have great potential. What a shame.
-
No matter what its going to be awhile for this big batch of springers with assembly issues will be cleared out. Unlike a Umarex or Crosman rebrander, there is nobody going to reject the entire on shelf stock and return to Turkey. So those waiting for a change in QC may be best to wait awhile. Those who know going in they are looking at taking on the rifle without factory help or parts are good to go.

Here is the deal with Hatsan USA near as I can tell. This is all sleuthing, so I could very well be wrong, but the addresses and importer information matches correctly.
Hatsan USA is a name only. There is no "service center", no support staff, nada.
Hatsan USA is represented by a guy out of Oklahoma, who has farmed out every aspect of the actual operation to an outfit called Global Supplier Solutions, who are based at the public address provided as being Hatsan USA's headquarters.
In other words, Hatsan USA is just an out of the box drop shipping service someone set up using their capital and name to set up an import registration to get em into the US.
When you call Hatsan, you are calling Global Supplier Solutions, a company which has no expertise or air gun orientation, just a company which handles all the business aspects of resellers who want no part of actual business operations outside of taking orders and checks.
When you ship a return, same deal. Goes to GSS. GSS, which deals with importing and shipping everything from pacifiers to tools.
I WILL NOT be dealing with anything Hatsan after this until they get proper US representation and support.
-
I cant figure out thier face book page :-\
What the heck do you click on..
-
Should be a recent posts box to the right under their main banner. All I got for my long winded post was, "Hatsan USA will fix it".
::)

You are absolutely right.
Blaine from hatsan usa needs to be fired, the hatsan usa people well according to Paul there aren't any , no wonder things are the way they are.
I posted on there wall too, its hard to see his pumpkin until you click on it, look for Paul's name

The guys who can fix there own issues, are ok. the rest will be taking chances,it is a shame isn't. The hatsan situation will be remembered for a long time in the air gun industry, looks like they made there mark one way or another.
For those of us who can do are own work, we have the opportunity to enjoy a great rifle.
I guess we can call them diamonds in the rough.

I can tune it myself thank goodness. But Im not touching it for 12 mo, thats for sure. Ill have another loom at favebook.

i still cant figure it out. Im on facebook, on Hatsans page. It says hatsan usa. Under recent posts it has mine from 2 hours ago, another one from May 1, and another from March 20th, and so on. There are like 5 in the last 90 days.
What the heck are you guys looking at????????
-
Not Hatsan USA, they ignore it. Just Hatsan Arms
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhh :o

Ok, I am there. Most recent post if from yesterday at 11am. I searched back to April. Nothing but a bunch of guys with turkey pictures. This the right place?
-
Its right there under the like button under recent posts
-
Funny how posting to the Hatsan Arms FB page suddenly results in my e-mails getting replied to.....
Hatsan USA is shipping a Black Sniper and covering costs for returning the TH. Regardless of how this one comes out, I'm done with Hatsan.
-
Sounds like the makings of a happy ending. Maybe they just have a 24 hour response time? If you get a good one, maybe you will get turned back around in time.
-
i give up!!!! I scrolled down all the way into april. Every single post was from hatsan. There were no guest threads.
-
I don't know about a "happy ending", but it's ending, and I'll have "something" to show for the hassle and the cost. Don't even like the Sniper. Just originally wanted a plain jane 125. Oh well. I'll be tearing this one down upon reciept and giving it a major tune.
-
Keep us posted with any tips & tricks.

Dear Sirs. I would like to notify you of my recent experience with Hatsan here in the USA. I purchased a model 125 from an online vendor here in the US. I received the wrong style rifle; I was sent a 125 TH, when I wanted a plain stock. However, I accepted it due to the vendor being very cordial and apologetic, and the rifle was still the same basic model. This rifle turned out to have severe damage and defects that made it unshootable. I contacted you here and was referred to Hatsan USA. I worked through Hatsan USA to get the problem taken care of. I shipped the rifle to Hatsan USA at my cost, and was sent a replacement. This process took over a week, and contact and service from Hatsan USA was very slow and poor. First, I was assured by Hatsan USA that the new rifle being sent to me was inspected and tested before being shipped. However……. Hatsan USA has sent me the wrong rifle, so this is twice I received the wrong product. This time, I received a .177 caliber rifle, when I originally wanted a .22 caliber. Also, I have once again been given a rifle of very poor quality. The rifle I received appears to have been previously used, and possibly is a returned item itself. It has damage to the finish, and the packaging was extremely damaged as well, with the rifle clearly having been very poorly packaged and handled. There is loose metal shavings in the cocking slot area, and I am again having problems getting the problem resolved due to Hatsan USA being difficult slow to work with. They are VERY slow in e-mail contact, never answer their phones, and do not seem to know how to handle customer problems. I am contacting you here for three reasons. #1. I want you to be aware of the reputation that Hatsan air rifles are gaining here in the US. We in the US airgun community were originally quite excited when we heard Hatsan would soon be available to US customers. Now, a few months after US customers have received their new Hatsans, this excitement has turned into disappointment and in some cases, hostility towards Hatsan products. At this point, rather than being excited, new Hatsan customers are now avoiding the Hatsan brand when buying new rifles, and current owners of Hatsan products are warning others away. The air gun community is very large and very tightly knit here, and news about brands travels very quickly. #2. The Hatsan products arriving here in the US are showing a consistent trend in poor quality and poor service support. The most common problems being encountered are loose metal in the receivers which is damaging seals, pistons and compression tube surfaces, very poor finish and bluing of metal components, poor stock finishes, bent barrels, and poor finishing of pistons which is resulting in pieces of material coming off the piston and damaging internal components. #3. I simply want the rifle I ordered or a better replacement, without defects, and without delays in shipping or further added costs to myself including shipping. In your defense, I will note that these problems seem to be for the most part prevalent with the plain MOD125’s, MOD95’s, and some of the other lower priced models. The Sniper line appears to have better quality control behind its manufacture, although there are a few reports of problems similar to the plain MOD125 line. At this time, it has been three days since I contacted HATSAN USA about this replacement rifle and the mistakes Hatsan USA has made regarding it. I still have not received a resolution, and Hatsan USA is not providing good customer support of your products. I hope this message reaches someone of influence within Hatsan Turkey’s corporate or Manufacturing management, as we here in the US do recognize the great potential and performance of a properly working Hatsan air rifle, we simply are having severe problems with the quality and support of the products we have received. We would love to have another competitive manufacturer of quality air rifles here, however, to date Hatsan’s USA introduction has fallen flat and appears to be heading into a negative perception of the Hatsan brand among US air gun enthusiasts. Thank you.

Well, I would say that definitely covers everything . . .
Now, what will Hatsan in Turkey do about it ?
Fingers crossed !

I think thats very cool of them to do. Still should be unnecessary. The US distributor should have handled this much better.

I don't know if id go so far as to say that. This is the first gun I have heard of that they are attempting to rectify. Seems from reading the boards that there was more then a few bad ones. Then again I don't have no boat in this race, other then I hope to pick up a Hatsan, and wont now.

So 10 or 12 Hatsan air rifles have a problem out of how many, thousands. Its in my opinion to say Iam done with Hatsan is to early to say. Heak Crosman has hundreds of problems with there air rifles but we arnt saying we are done with them right. This is there first try in the USA lets give them at least 6 months to get everything worked out. Ive seen where they are sending guys upgraded models to replace their defective rifles. I read on the net hmmm maybe it was a member here that was sent a floor model tx200 and the company made good with him so these things happen. I say give Hatsan a chance, they make some killer air guns, I would hate to see them say ok thats it no more USA. This is my thought. Brent

So 10 or 12 Hatsan air rifles have a problem out of how many, thousands.
So you are saying that only a fraction of 1% have problems? How did you arrive at this conclusion?
The fact is, there is no way at this point to quantify the scale of Hatsans QC issues. We are a microcosm of the airgun market here at GTA, but what we do know, is that the mojority of people here that bought one and tore it open, have found many of the same issues. Some of these issues are rectified by a simple tune up, others are not so easy to deal with, eg. oversized bores and cracked welds.
Part of me agrees with the "let's give them a chance" mentality, but the overwhelming part of me is disappointed in a company that rushes production of poorly assembled springers and believes their "chance" has already been given by the number of consumers who have already purchased their product.
-
It is not ten or so rifles out of thousands.
It is several major problems out of a small number of new buyers on this forum in this particular case, which is a very poor ratio.
These problems as shown on GTA are consistent.
These problems are well known outside of the US and have been for years.
There is nothing special about the run of Hatsan rifles reaching the US. They are not a "rushed batch". They are not a "special" shipment. They are nothing more than the same exact thing anyone else in any other country gets. Hatsan Arms merely takes orders, and ships em out.
There is no direct parts availability. Any parts must come from other vendors for rebranded versions.
Customer service does not exist with Hatsan USA. What customer service there is with Hatsan USA's third party processor, is slow, poorly executed, and maddeningly frustrating. Your options are to get a refund/replacement from whatever vendor you purchased from.
To receive a defective product once is forgiveable. To be unable to contact a service representative, have to hound corporate, wait three days for a final acknowledgment of the problem and a resolution, then have another not only damaged, very poorly packaged, possibly used, but incorrect product sent as a replacement is indeed unforgiveable.
They're shipping me a Sniper yes. However, with what this has cost me, I could have bought one in the first place, which is not what I wanted. (I should have just refunded to be honest)
So yes, I am done with Hatsan.
Anyone else wants to purchase a Hatsan rifle that is entirely their choice. At least with this forum, others will have a full range of customer experiences to draw from and make an informed decision with. I certainly hope no one else shares my particular experience, although I do believe at least two other members in fact already have.
-
I was just stating that judging by the feedback Hatsan has gotten on the web, I will not purchase one now. That may change if they put a little more QC in.
I cannot speak for other consumers.

Well, like I said, it looks like things may be improving and time will tell . . .

Any manufacturer will change its QC if they have a recognized poor product and they want to stay in business. What it takes is both feedback and returns of goods affected. Just in my opinion and experience, it pays NOT to get back to agents/ importers/ distributors too much as they do not fully pass on your sentiments to the manufacturer, and, it's not uncommon to find piles of returned products which have not been sent back to manufacturers in the corners of their warehouses or tin sheds. All they want is their cut of the profits - your money, and as long as we get a replacement, we're happy aren't we..?? I mean, it DID come from the manufacturer, didn't it..?? Not likely...
When I get peeved off too much I like to contact the manufactuer myself and either tell them what's wrong or give them a piece of mind... Once or twice I have got on the wrong foot with an agent or two by contacting the manufacturer over their heads, and they've let me know they didn't like that,, but when it's my time and money, I don't like any Joe Hunt not doing his best for me - "don't want to upset the supplier do we?",, that's usually their motto. Too many of those creeps in business for my liking. They known as middlemen and don't do much for me...
That's why we have email..!!
I certainly hope the worst has peaked for Hatsan because I still want a model or two from then but am a mind to wait and see...
-
Man, that stinx. So much potential there, too. Seems like they were doing great when they first started importing to the U.S, then went downhill. Maybe QC has slipped in order to keep pace with demand? I sure hope they get it together.
-
What's bad is how easy it would be to correct the issues causing most of the problems.
Don't leave slivers of metal from cuts on the piston to break loose and get in the action.
Blow the metal shavings out of the piston and compression chamber.
Hopefully they will put forth the effort to do that at least.
Some real customer service and making parts available would be the icing on the cake.
-
Craymar,
I agree with you 100%. Brent

Well said,
Spoken like a general, that was good information ,and spot on, makes sense, a lot of members would not think of that, and do the same thing, just get it exchanged thru the dealer, who cares if the item is a toaster or coffee pot lol
but when it comes down to our air rifles, I sure will be in touch with the manufacturer.

This is why I keep looking over the Hatsan springers! I want a .25 caliber but will try a Webley Patriot since what I have uncovered with them is mainly a undersized piston seal which can be easily rectified with a JM seal slightly oversized!
Plus the Webley Pat will put 24 grain lead out from the muzzle roughly at 725+fps! Now that has my vote as a competent .25 cal springer!
I would most definitely buy a Hatsan PCP! Nothing but good read about them other than being loud! They really should shroud those barrels for use backyard shooters! How much more can that cost!!!!!! Come on Hatsan, shroud those PCP's! ;D

Yeah, Hatsan's higher end stuff, Snipers, PCPs', definitely show a better trend towards good QC. Gene's testing has been very positive with the PCP's. Going with lesser cost base models though is a very iffy proposition.

HATSAN is the company that MAKES the WEBLEY PATRIOT ( notice the Quattro trigger in the ads ? ) . . .
If you want a "REAL" Webley Patriot, made in the UK before they outsourced it to Turkey, prepare to spend BIG BUCKS !

True, but the Patriot seems to be one springer they have or still try to do right according to all the reviews from competent reviewers that I have uncovered through the internet search. Only bad reviews for the most part on the Turkish Patriot is weight of the rifle; undersized piston seal which can be rectified easily; and fact it is no longer UK made for the purist. Oh I know it will not compare to a UK made Patriot but like you said.......BIG BUCKS!
There are other slight issues or hangups but you will and I have even found those from searching on the Weihrauch as well! All manufacturers will have some negative and all will have a few lemons. As long as the lemon can be made into lemonade I am willing to try it out.
Hence why I posted here on the Turkish site, I knew you would reply Dave! ;D

Yes, my 125 sniper camo 22 cal is a dog but, I really like the design and power of it.I didn't bother to return it. I figured I just get another bummer so I sent it out to be tuned.I definitely want a black 125 in 25 cal too.Guys have good reviews of them and if I have to have it tuned so be it.All guns should come from the factory ready to go with no tunes or repairs but, this is the nature of the beast.

When it come to recent QC at Hatsan, please bear in mind that Turkey is in the midst of major upheaval right now. The fact that Hatsan's factory is still open is a major surprise. When there was the coup attempt a few years ago, I thought arm's manufacturing would be the first industry to be shut down.
That said, we live in a litigious society. On Hatsan's website they even ask you to state that you are over 18 years of age, just to view it! :-[
A poorly installed trigger could very easily be the basis for major lawsuits. Standard excuse, "instructions were unclear". If you do not like it, SHOOT A LAWYER! ;D just kidding...
Recently, I ordered some replacement stock screws and seals from Hatsan USA. When following the tracking, after 3 days the track just ended, "item arrived at USPS hub" then NOTHING! After 2 weeks, I notified Hatsan and USPS. You think Hatsan is bad, try having USPS look for a lost package!
2 days later Hatsan said they would resend my items, 2 days later they arrived.
The system worked for me, sorry it did not work for you. :-[

Well, too many comments about their poor quality control. I bought my H95qe brand new last year, with nicked breech seal , bend barrel, loose rear sight, metal shavings in the barrel and shaving embeded on the piston, honking sound, vortex ram leakage issue .
Quality Control ???
I don't think there is a quality control section in the HatSan manufacturing plant at all. Usually, if there is , factory usually paste a sticker "QC PASSED" on their products. Gamo rifles do.. I see them beneath the stock. This thread was started since 2012...now is 2018, and yet there are still so many of our members experience the same tragedy. Sign"

Sad story for sure. Dealing with Hatsan seems to be hit & miss. I've been one of the lucky ones as I own several of their products, mostly good. The few issues I've had were promptly resolved, other folks not so much unfortunately. I was hoping the QC and parts ordering had improved based on recent posts where a member was sold a trigger assy for a PCP. I recently bought a Dominator 200S steel springer on closeout and it was shooting well below rated spec. I returned it on their dime and they promptly replaced with a brand new 200S Vortex model that sells for $100 more. Like I said, hit & miss, I hope they are getting better as their rifles are a good value when you get a good one.
-
I recently got my 177/25 Cal Hatsan 85 Vortex Sniper back up and running, thanks to Longhunter sending me the trigger spring that I needed. I have an older spring piston gun as a back-up for parts to this gun so I'm in pretty good shape with this one and my Vortex Edge/Striker guns. It is too bad that a person has to have a back-up gun just for Hatsan Parts to the guns that they are using. Best Wishes - Tom

Hate hearing all the negatives here on Hatsan USA. It really must be a hit-or-miss thing because I had such a great experience with them.
Feb. 2017 I bought a 125, synthetic stock, coil spring .22 cal. on E-Bay. Listed as new.
It honked bad when cocking, ran about 400 fps slower than spec'd, and I almost had to hammer the pellets into the breech.
I E-Mailed Hatsan USA, and they wanted accurate chrony results. I tested 4 different weights over my Pro Chrono, 10 shots each, and sent it to them.
Next day, I received a shipping slip in my E-Mail and they gave me instructions on how to pack it up, so I did.
Less than 2 weeks later, I had the gun back, rebuilt. They sent a paper showing what the did. Didn't cost me a dime, either direction.
Clean, de-bur, lube, new piston seal, chamfered the breech, new breech seal, test it.
Their chrony results were on the paper also.
That gun shoots great now, hard to cock, it's a magnum, but smooth cocking all through the stroke.
The pellets go in the breech good and seat properly. And it will push a 9.? gr. alloy pellet out the barrel averaging 1200 fps. ( 1195-1205)
The 14-1/2 gr. to 18-1/2 gr. pellets are giving me between 24 to 28 FPE.
The more I shoot it, the better it shoots. Hopefully, one day, I will learn how it wants to be held and I can get those 50 and 75 yards shots down a little better.
With a 4-16x50mm UTG accushot, 40 to 60 yard sparrows are fairly easy shots to make. But 1-1/2 to 2 inch group will do that. I know this gun can do better.
Did I say I love this gun? And the service I got from Hatsan USA was first rate.
That's why I hate hearing these negatives from other members. Hopefully, things are improving and will continue to improve.
Right now I'm reworking a Ruger spring-break pistol. I'm getting the same great service ( for parts and info) from Umarex. Hope this gun comes around.

Thats the thing with Hatsan, either you get a good/great one, or a realy bad one that should´nt have passed the QC, if they have any, i have been lucky with all my Hatsans but one, a Striker s, i am so tempted to buy a 125 sniper vortex in .22 as my next gun, but affraid i am next in line to get a lemon...
-
i am so tempted to buy a 125 sniper vortex in .22 as my next gun, but affraid i am next in line to get a lemon...
If you buy the 125 from one of the better vendors (PA, Field Supply, Midway etc) you would be covered if you did get a lemon. I would call first and see what their return and refund policy is. I got a lemon Hatsan Torpedo 100X from Field Supply a few years ago and it had several issues. I called and they sent a prepaid return label and issued a full refund when the rifle was returned.
-
Well, Jorgen. Don't be afraid of getting a lemon from Hatsan,
if you are capable of tuning and willing to spend some time to tinker with it. Any other brands do have defective products that passed their Quality Control section too. Bought a brand new Gamo last week, it had the under size bore and barrel , return it and was replaced with a off-center stock. On the third time, then I received a satisfying rifle to possess. And the funny part is they all have the "yellow sticker QC passed" on them ;D.Luckily, this supplier have many in stock and responsible for the sales.
Like John recommended, buy from reputable dealers who will take care of your defective rifle professionally.
Or buy the refurbish one that is cheaper, and if you can not return it, buy another one so that you can have parts to build a satisfactory rifle for yourself. IMO.
As for my defective H95QE, no parts are available in my country, no refurbished rifle for sale, but I managed to convert and tuned it . For about 4 months, with regular shootings and testing to improve it . Took me many attempts to try all sorts of spring sizes, shims, washers and guides etc . I finally end up with a very smooth cocking, no twang, exceptable recoil and very, very accurate rifle. Thanks to our GTA members here for their valuable information and recommendations.
Thumbs up...to all successful Hatsan tinkers.
-
Thanx John and Dee, i am so tempted, but i have a hard time deciding between some magnum guns, if i only wanted the power, the hatsan is the one, but i have wanted a Diana a long time also, so a 350 magnum is on the list, and where i live there is not so much difference in price, and the Hw80 is also about the same in price, much better quality but less power, don't need hole in hole accuracy this time, but like to hit about were i aim anyway
-
Going to tear apart my 125 sniper soon, think I bought it In 2012 and haven't really shot it since 2012 because it blows scopes apart so fast and the gun won't always fire. Have to take the stock off and smack the trigger with a screw driver handle to fire it. Plus the forarm screw is bent badly right before the threads.
Aweful gun I regret buying. Probably gas ram it or find a weaker spring for it and hope for the best.
-
Sir, I remember that I seen the front stock screw for sale on ebay...I think is from the Russian supplier. You can check it out.
Try a shorter spring for your rifle , Polish both ends , add some steel washers and find a spring guide that fit snugly to your main spring. Probably, you can end up with a good shooter like mine. Honestly, I love mine now.
-
Most of the screws are easily replaced with a trip to your favorite hardware store.
I mostly replace all the screws with stainless steel now.
A good tune and polish and a good seal? The 125 Sniper Wire Spring is the only AG I regret selling!

Hi Jorgen. I've owned a Hatty M125 TH in the past (stock broke so I returned it for a refund). I currently have several Hatsan rifles, and most are shooting well and at or above advertised spec. However, I have a few Dianas, including a 350 Mag in .177. If you can buy a Diana 350 or HW80 for about the same price as a Hatsan 125, I'd go for the HW or Diana. Not quite as much raw power, but a much better made rifle IMHO.

Anyone remember what screws were used to mod the trigger? Lost one of them awhile back
3mm screws @ 10mm length should do ya (Quattro and Gamo-style triggers like the Striker). Two for the Quattro, one screw for the Striker. For the Striker you'll likely want to cut 3-5mm off before you put it in, otherwise the trigger will hit the head when pulled, and may not "discharge." Adjust, measure, cut, round/polish the end and reinstall.

Are you aware of the recall by Hatsan? They are recalling certain Strikers for a trigger issue. The guns are being replaced with new ones. There was only one report of an incident. and theye are recalling all Strikers that are in a certain serial number range. These guns were made in 2012.
Point is; Maybe the Striker isn't the only one with a trigger issue. Have you called Hatsan USA. They do good work and have a fast turn-around.
Plus, if I saw a refurb (And it was refurb'd by Hatsan USA, that is better than new. That is rebuilt in the USA

I agree. I have a few Hatsan refurbs and they all shoot flawlessly. I was in the photo/optical business prior to retirement and when one of our products went in for refurb work it got a lot more attention to detail and factory spec than what was usually offered by the factory QC. Also, though not generally known, when a mfg is overstocked with slow moving items they sometimes stamp them "refurb" and offer them at a much lower price to the dealers just to move them out. Many times I got calls from dealers asking "can you make me some more refurbs?" ;)
