I saw this earlier and was on the fence for a variety of reasons. I saw they had the make offer option, so I offered $200 thinking it would be rejected. Well, it was accepted, so the price mustn't be in error this time. I just hope I actually get a compressor and not a Chinese coin or other piece of garbage!

The one at .99 cents bid is now at 199 on the 15th bid.
The other one for the 228 is a real good deal at 200 for an offer. I just paid 236 on a incorrect price listing so am happy but 200 would have been even better. I guess the prices are coming down on these compressors.

Heck maybe that what they are shipping is a nice portable picture of the compressor to fit in a pocket. In all seriousness I hope it is a legit deal so that I will have something to be jealous about for me losing out on a 36 dollar savings.

I sent an offer of $200, we'll see what happens. If these are actually delivered in the $200-230 range that will set a new base price for the item with other vendors in China. One listing on Alibaba showed a photo of a warehouse full of them....maybe a thousand?

Yea hope it is a trend that is going to stay till the inventory comes inline with the demand and maybe even longer. Yea I am not sweating the 36 bucks as I am very happy with my deal right now but see when it arrives if that stays the course.
That charger for phones and PCPs is a combo deal that cost twice the shipping as just a charger for the phone so going to get your money any way possible. ;D ;D
Seriously I hope all that made the 200 dollar offer gets the compressors and not a sack full of coins.

Yea, it's that pack of O-Rings they ship with it! On Amazon they have the same compressor for $399 and there is an option to purchase a warranty. When I added it to my cart, the warranty was actually from Square Trade. It was only $19.91. If the one I ordered actually arrives, I'm considering buying the Square Trade warranty with the money I saved. I'm sure there is a deductible, but if it fails they either repair or replace it. It may be a worthwhile investment with these compressors.

Is this compressor stand alone or is it fed from a normal 90psi compressor? I read the specs but didn't see it mentioned. The two barb fittings I see could be for water.

it's a product from china. forget warranties. don't buy a square trade warranty! even if this thing doesn't last a year. it's still only $200 down the drain. A year from now, there be another Yong Heng pump for $200-$300. That sure beats buying a $1300 Air Venturi.
I much rather spend the money on a Scope or a CF tank.
For this purchase, I used used a credit card that has double extended warranties for free and 90 damage benefit. SO I'm covered against DOA's and long term damage.
no one in the right mind will send this thing back to china. it would costs more to ship it back than it's worth!
BTW $200 for this compressor sure does beats Buying a $280 Hill MK4 pump. I've held off buying a PCP until bc 50-250 stroke to fill my resouvior has always sounded like a terrible idea.

Have to see how this one turns out. It's a no brainer at $200
Then p/u a SCBA tank and have it hydrode and use it for storage and fills in the field (I've see some 30 min tanks with a year or so of life left for $50-$75)

I predict we who ordered will get an email stating....."There will be a $150 shipping charge". Looking at the guy's feedback, he sold a motor that stated free shipping and then hit the buyer up for a $700 shipping fee. The buyer declined and left a "neutral" feedback.

Now granted, if we pay for shipping that's definitely cheaper for him, but I got to hope he means he will pay for the most economical shipping. I guess only time will tell!

I hope you are right, but as you say "only time will tell". I have my fingers crossed on this one, tired of pumping up the 3 PCP's that I have, especially the Mrod....... :o

Next time you use it, if you have a test meter, can you see how many amps this thing pulls, both on startup and running. Trying to see hiw big a generator or inverter would be needed to run this thing in the field.

I wouldn't risk it. I thought I read 46 hydraulic oil. Jack oil may now handle the pressure. If it were me I would use the best oil I could find and change it often.

VG-46. I guess even that has the potential to "diesel" in the hp head. From what I understand from reading various threads is that we want to minimize this dieseling and/or carbon deposits in the head and supposedly the more expensive oils help to minimize this. I started with vg-46 and ended up going with the more expensive stuff to keep things on the safer side of the spectrum. I now use Chemlube 751.

Well my compressor arrived about 30 minutes ago so now its time to gather the need oil and bucket to put the system together and do some test runs.
Hope everyone else gets theirs soon and in good condition.

Yea its as close to a wood crate as you can get but still light enough to not add a lot to the shipping weight.

Yep wired with a 110 V cord and going to see if my local supply house has some chemlube 751 or equivalent oil. If I have to order the chemlube then will just get some VG 46 oil that they recommend to use in it.

Nope... The listing said up to 5 days to ship, it's only been 2 for me. I did send a message asking when I should expect tracking info, and how long I should expect it to arrive. I've not received a reply yet, but they are on the other side of the world.

It may be that they are waiting to get enough together to ship all at once on a pallet to be rerouted once in the states by the carrier. They may get a bit of a discount if shipped that way. Bulked shipped so to say.

Yea I had thought about that with mine coming from California but it came across on I-40 into Memphis direct non stop per the tracking info so got lucky with that for sure.

They have the Chem 751 Lube on Ebay expensive though..$17.00 plus another $17.00 for shipping
I threw an offer in at $200.00 We'll see what counter offer comes back. Don't forget Ebay and Pay-Pal back ups your purchase. For $200-$230 its worth taking a chance. The one PA offers is $1300 and it is made in China as well.

I just purchased one for $225. I made a "Best Offer" of $200 which was turned down, then I offered $225 on one that was listed for $260 and he accepted it. If this is not what it is represented then I will return it! Pay-pal and Ebay are good about backing products. But for $225 I will take a chance. I will let you know how it turns out. This is water cooled where you'll have to submerge the water pump (included) in a bucket of water. So you will have to supply your own bucket and the compressor oil. I hope it works out I have three scuba tanks and they are only $6.00 a tank per fill. so I will have to fill the tanks 37 times to break even. But as you know I really only need to fill from about 2800 to 3100 PSI. I could have never justified spending much more.

Congrats! Funny thing is, his compressor up for auction is already at $228 with a little over an hour before it ends. Those folks could have made and offer and saved a couple bucks!
The closest dive shop to me charges $10 a fill for my small 90ci tank, so I only have to fill it 20 times and I'll break even. And since it will only fill my Marauder 7 times, I should see a return on my investment pretty quickly! That is if it actually shows up...

It's 90 miles round trip to my local shop + $6 fill....
So using IRS mileage rates:
.535 x 90 = $48.15 +$6 =$54.15 per fill. $228/$54.15 ~4.2 fills. ;)
Money isn't even the driving force... it's the hassle factor and wanting to up the power on several rifles along with adding a quarter bore at some point, and as Avator said, freedom is worth something.

I think the names on the left written in blue are the buyers names. The names under the reviews are the sellers. It says "sold by:" just to the left of topsee.666 . I recognize the other seller "lampseller". He sells the same compressors.
Not to say I'm still not a little skeptical, myself!

The biggest load off was not having to plan....
Since I first began driving way back when (Flintstone mobiles) I was always up for a road trip. Not much has changed. Other than it's better on a Harley. So it's not actually the trip that was bothersome. Mr. George charged me $5 a fill, $12 for a vis (fill included) and $24 for a hydro (fill included) so obviously, the cost wasn't the issue. The issue was the planning. Insuring there was air in the tanks for the weekend festivities. Is there enough air to finish this tune? And of course.... That's a 36" whip.. I wonder how many fills I am wasting over the course of a tank? All that is GONE !!!

No ship notice yet, though my CC has been charged by PayPal. Usually, the CC isn't charged until the item is shipped, not sure what to think. We had a scam on Mitutoyo calipers here a while back, luckily the money was refunded but it was a bit of a hassle to get the refund. Hoping this deal is legit..... ???

Sorry guys I was sick yesterday so could not get out to try to find the oil locally. I had no luck today after searching everywhere local. I just ordered a half gallon of the Chemlube 751 so will be waiting for it to arrive to fire it up and test it out. having it sent priority mail so hopefully will have it early next week.

The original listing has ended and he has them resisted for $325. It says 40 sold and today is day 5 from when I placed my order. If I don't have a shipping notification by tomorrow, I'll be contacting the seller to ask why...

it was 369.00 and there was only three left after I bought one,i just went to that item and there aren't any left...I got mine for well under 200.00 with those points I used.i couldn't get a link posted sorry.so if the e-bay compressor comes I will have two for under 379.00...I kinda trust the amazon transaction a little more than the e-bay transaction...chenglong9842 is the e-bay seller that accepted the 201.81 offer...

OK...So I still haven't heard from the Ebay vendor in regard to the $225.00 purchase I made on the compressor. I had placed a bid on one, on another listing from the same vendor, but he had accepted my "best Offer" for $225.00 before the other auction had ended. Now, I get a message today "2nd chance offer" to purchase one for $210.00 from the same vendor. I am just glad I used Pay-pal so if this all falls through. But it is apparent that they are willing to part with these for as low as $210.00, on paper anyway This vender is "chenglong9842" If anyone besides Mike receives one of these let us know.

I was just at Home Depot and they have 100% Synthetic, Non-Detergent, compressor oil by Husky for around $8.00. They have the Synthetic blend, which is not as good for around $6.00. I've got a tracking number also, but the carrier is listed as epacket! Not a good sign... I use an app called 17TRACK on my iPhone to track international shipments.
I also use TrackItOnLine and it lets ou link to the eBay purchase and enter the number of days until a dispute is files.

I sent the seller a message stating I was confused because it says carrier is ePacket and his own listing stated items over 2KG would ship FedEx/UPS/DHL, and the compressor weighed approximately 22KG, not 2KG! I asked if this was a mistake. It will be interesting to hear how he dances around that one!
I'm also thinking of contacting eBay on Tuesday just to give them a heads up they may be getting hit with approximately 44 disputes for the 44 compressors eBay says he's sold! They may want to freeze the funds now so they have it on hand to process all these refunds!

I sent the seller a message stating I was confused because it says carrier is ePacket and his own listing stated items over 2KG would ship FedEx/UPS/DHL, and the compressor weighed approximately 22KG, not 2KG! I asked if this was a mistake. It will be interesting to hear how he dances around that one!
I'm also thinking of contacting eBay on Tuesday just to give them a heads up they may be getting hit with approximately 44 disputes for the 44 compressors eBay says he's sold! They may want to freeze the funds now so they have it on hand to process all these refunds!

I received a tracking number as well and it shows "epacket" with the tracking number not coming back to any carrier. May not be a bad idea to contact eBay. They could maybe put a hold on the funds and if the compressor show up then release it. Hopefully this whole thing is just a communication error and it will all work out. I'm not holding my breath on that one..usually if it's too good to be true it is...

I'm going to give him till Tuesday to respond to my question about the carrier used. If I have not heard back, or feel he's eluding the question, I'll contact eBay and let them know what's going on. I have been researching their policies and procedures so I can make a good case that this seller is not in compliance. They seem to have a very low tolerance for non-compliant sellers, so hopefully, that will get their attention.

I just received a response from the seller on my question about a 50 lbs compressor being sent via epacket. He says they have "cooperation with epacket recently, so he send to me by epacket". Sounds like a load from the pasture to me!
I have reached out to our local post office and have a guy who is going to look into it for me. Unfortunately, until the item is actually in the possession of the carrier, there's not much he can do or find out about the package that's being sent. He sounded like he was genuinely interested in helping, so maybe he'll be able to determine dimensions and weight once it's in the possession of epacket. I'll keep you guys posted.

I filed a complaint last night, same reasons. This morning the compressor is no longer showing under my purchase history on eBay, but I have not seen a refund. I'll be calling eBay today to see what's going on with this guy.
I saw your negative feedback. Since my purchase is gone, I'm not sure if I will be able to leave feedback or not. I was going to wait until after I spoke with eBay.
Mine also said small packets, which I pointed not that his eBay listing said items over 2KG would ship FedEx and told him I would be filing a complaint with eBay. Maybe I should have used the F word (fraud)! Ebay really needs to do a better job of screening these scammers!

I haven't done anything yet. I'm a little nervous if I file a INR claim with ebay than he shows proof something was delivered even if it's obviously not a compressor that I won't be able to file a INAD claim. Obviously I'm not getting a compressor, if I knew he'd refund my money immediately than I suppose I would file, but I know my luck too well. ;D
Edit: chenglong9842 no longer has any items for sale.... this is the scam, they flush the account as soon as negative reviews start rolling in. I'm willing to bet lampseller is his new account....
I don't see a way to file a claim on ebay though? It has a tracking number so I can't say item not received, and I can't file an item not as described since I haven't received anything yet and doing this simply brings up the "start a return" window....?

It's the seller's responsibility to refund full purchase price and prove the item was as described. This has a direct impact on the seller and his ability to remain a seller on eBay.
I have written this off as far as actually receiving a compressor. I have filed a complaint for an "Item not as Described" due to the shipping information not being in-line with the item that should have been shipped. I.e. Small packets through ePacket as opposed to a large box through FedEx?UPS/DHL, etc. I have also left negative feedback identifying the seller as a fraud. As far as I'm concerned, it's on the seller to prove me wrong at this point. If he does, I will revise my feedback and close the despite, but I have a strong suspicion I'm not wrong!

Yes, in the comments state: The Seller's listing stated items over 2KG would ship FedEx/UPS/DHL and the shipping confirmation shows "small packets" sent via ePacket. It's pretty clear the seller did not send us compressors as described in his listing.

I wonder if the guy's account got hacked, or maybe he has a drug or gambling problem that turned him to fraud. His prior feedback was good. I had one of my eBay for sale listings hacked a few years ago, had to talk to the buyer by phone and send him a pix of the item (Chevy 383 stroker motor) with the current local newspaper sitting on it. The hacker wasn't able to do the same and the sale finally went through OK. eBay was little help in tracking down the hacker.

For those that find the claim process in eBay confusing as I believe it is on purpose to keep buyers from opening disputes easily I have written their phone number down to call them and speak to a live person since its much easier to explain the situation over a phone than by messages.

Thank you Mike! I just got off the phone with eBay, and it appears they are now well aware of who this seller is. He also said they are going to give the seller 3 days to respond and if they don't hear from him, they will be locking down his account and will expedite the refunds. He did reassure me several times that I was protected by eBay and to not worry about receiving my money back. I was actually more concerned about them tracking this guy and making sure he doesn't scam anyone else! >:(

Well, I went the automated route this morning because I wanted to stop any further fraudulent transaction, but still wanted to follow up with a live person. So, after I got home i called. They said I had successfully opened a dispute and thanked me for doing so. They also said I'll be able to request eBay step in to assist after three days. So, I guess I'll see how that goes. I'm pretty soured on these Chinese compressors though. I may just wait and see what happens over the next few months... Thanks again for the phone number!

The 3 days are normal to allow the seller to respond and try to make the customer happy so if they do not respond to your satisfaction in 3 days call eBay back if they have not contacted you first. Ebay is watching your mailbox as well as the sellers so they are aware if he has responded or not to your message.
It will be corrected before the end of the fourth day most likely. Especially if they are already aware of the issue with the seller.

Ok..I started with Ebay and got a bit of a run around. I finally called VISA, which I used through PayPal, and they are going to open a disputed and refund my money within 2 days. VISA had incredible customer service. Ebay did acknowledge the fact that the seller listed the item as a small package but wanted me to wait until the estimated shipment arrival date.
Did you notice there are other vendors advertising the same compressor and also stating "e-Packet" for the shipment. Although, this guy looks legit "mechsonic (2744)" 99% positive feedback with 2744 transactions. Looks like the same compressor for around $300. Not sure if I want to take the chance b4 I know if it is actually going to work.

I did the ebay thing they kicked me to paypal. I opened a dispute at 3. Looked this morning case closed money refunded by 11:30. Just told them there was no way a 47lbs compressor would fit in small package.

there really was no hassle to it,e-bay is a great way to buy and sell.i knew when buying this item it would a &^^& shoot.if I didn't get it for 201.81 I would get my money back and I did this morning with no problem...a lot of people frown on e-bay and that is too bad.i have made over 3,000.00 in one month selling and almost all I own came from e-bay.i must say this is the first time since 2003 I had to get a refund because of seller fraud and it was not a big deal.would it have been nice to get this for 201.81?yes it would have.but as life would have it when I seen that seller was scamming I went amazon and bought one at 369.00,when I went to check out I had 181.00 cash back rewards and paid 188.00 for the same item(the yong heng compressor).so it worked out well.oh and that compressor shipped from china on 8/30/2017 and I have it today via DHL...so in the end it worked out just fine.i glad it went this way...

i am a firm believer in good things come to good people some call it karma,i don't I call it the rule of life.i will always use e-bay and pay the fees they charge to show my items to the world...sure they pay out some scammers but thats why they charge to use e-bay and paypal...there is no free lunch in life as I am sure many here know...this thread was about a bargin then shifted gears to a scammer thread.there has been resolution and it ended well for those who got scammed...now those who did get scammed and want to fill guns with have to find another mean to their end which is not pumping air rifles up by hand.

Thanks, I may call again today and see if I can expedite the refund given the facts. I have not seen a refund yet, but do want to give eBay the benefit of the doubt and the chance to process the refund before I contact my CC company.

I had a bad feeling from day 1 that this was not legit. I hope everyone gets their $ back. Ebay should make good on every claim/dispute.
I personally feel that eBay should allow Chinese sellers or companies to sell to a US address only if they have a legit US based company registered and operating in the US, as well as a US phone number that buyers can call for customer service and other questions or disputes. The items can still ship from China, but this way eBay can go after the individuals in the US, and file criminal fraud charges when they collect money and don't deliver. Easier said than done, but that's my thoughts on buying stuff from China.
I prefer to buy from an American based company so I could be a little biased.

I doubt the manufacture of the YH compressors even know that there product is being used to scam people or if they do they do not seem to care or once they have been paid by the sellers its not their concerns.
I agree that the govt or some oversight into these types of scams is in order to curtain the proliferation of illicit scams we are seeing for this product.

Me too. Just requested they step in this morning. I am positive we'll get our money back, it's just a matter of when now. I've pretty much decided I'm just going to order one from a legit seller now. I've already spent $228.... throwing another ~$100 at it to get one from a seller that ships from the US is worth it at this point for me. I'm sick of hunting for the "deal" and if I don't buy it now, I'll spend the next 6 months "hunting".... LOL.

I agree. I also seem to be at a dead end trying to figure out what connector I need to allow my local Fire Station to fill my 90ci tank. The Fire Chief had no clue, but what I have won't work. The closest and most convenient dive shop is not convenient and they want $10 a fill! With only 7 fills to my Marauder, I can pretty much empty that tank in 2-3 days worth of shooting, so after 30 fills, I may have just bought a compressor!
It's just sad you can't find a decent deal from a reputable seller. On Alibaba you can buy these in lots of 16 - 20 for around $160 each (larger lots are even cheaper), so getting one for around $250-$275 should not be that hard, the seller is still making a small profit even after shipping!

You have to put it in context, you can spend 250 on a hand pump. Once you use one, for 325 my body says it's a great price.

I know it's hard but we gotta understand that these scams go both ways. Lots of buyers scamming legit sellers to. EBay's policies are geared towards both scenarios.

Yup, EBay also asked me to wait until 10 days to see what shows up. I tried explaining about the scam, they didn't seem to concerned. They do an estimated $181 million a day, this is barely a blip on the radar.

I'm tracking it on 4 different websites, to include USPS and China EMS site and they all show it's still sitting in China at the carrier. Yet, eBay insists I wait till something is delivered! I may call again tomorrow and see if I can escalate it to a supervisor who can make a decision it's pretty clear to me I'm not getting a compressor!

Glad I didn't go for this compressor, right now I think the best choice I could make would be the newest Carrette compressor that has the ringless high side cylinder in it, I know that with that compressor I could fill the big tanks for sure, plus the fact that it would probably have a much longer life than the small ones.
That is definitely a nice unit... I just recommended it to a guy I work with (who has a much higher blow money budget!)
That $1400 barrier to entry though.... would it outlast 4 of the little compressors if you did your part? Better hurry, that carette is on sale right now $450 off, that sale ends this month, once it goes to regular price it would have to outlast almost 6 of the little compressors... :o

I have it on bad authority that those are knock offs, aka "not the real deal", ATFS is the ONLY authorized dealer in the U.S. and the Chinese are always loyal to their dealer network.... (in all seriousness, you're preaching to choir, if I had $1025 I would have ordered one).
On the other hand, we're comparing a $1000 compressor to a $327 compressor. Much like comparing an off the shelf $327 rifle to an off the shelf $1000 rifle, these are not in the same league in my opinion. Also, I'm still not positive the Carette would outlast 3 properly used little compressors. If we're running a 24 stress test, then by all means, but topping off 500-800 PSI on my tanks doesn't take 24 hours.
From everything I've read, I would gladly put these little compressors up against any sub-$500 compressor anyone can find. 8)

I called eBay again today and they refused to do anything until Sep 20th. I guess they really think a compressor is going to magically appear on my door step. I wish I shared their delusion, but I don't think I'll see any further movement between now and the 20th. Just very frustrating because it's not like I'm the only eBy buyer dealing with a scam from this seller. I know eBay could care less, but I'll be very reluctant to buy through eBay from now on after this experience!

Well, I got a notice today that my "compressor" arrived in an envelope to Chicago. I have filed complaints with eBay, PayPal and my CitiBank credit card. Not much help from eBay or PayPal, Citi has posted a conditional credit for $200 to my account. In the future, I will only purchase from eBay with my CC, and bypass PayPal completely.....they seem more sympathetic to the fraudster than to the victim of fraud.

I think I'm going to contact my credit card company tomorrow and see if they can help. This schiester is long gone, he's not going to send a return label any more than he ever actually shipped anything! I went to the China EMS website and ran my tracking number. It said not found or overdue. That tells me they submitted shipping information on-line, but never actually shipped anything, so nothing is going to ever be delivered! I'm about done with EBay! Sad because there are decent sellers on there, but if this is what you have to go through when you get a bad one, it's not worth my time or effort!

We have heavy items shipped from China on a regular basis, and Fedex IE (which is a 5 day or less service to the U.S.) starts at ~$10/pound before discounts. If you click on the shipping tab the $605 shipping is about right before it gets the Aliexpress discount down to $140.
The nice thing is, it is usually a time guaranteed 5 day delivery once Fedex receives it from the forwarder.

I filed a dispute through my credit card this morning. The way I look at it, the fraud was committed when a shipping label for an ePacket was generated for an item that probably weighs 20KG more than the maximum ePacket ship weight. There is no reason to weight on something that's obviously not what you ordered makes it's way to the US. Besides, tracking has not changed on my shipment since it was entered on the 5th! That tells me nothing was ever actually shipped. Making us wait is terrible customer service, and I doubt I'll be purchasing anything through eBay again for a really long time. I just hope my CC Company sees it this way and yanks the money from eBay to refund me.

I received a "Conditional Credit for Dispute" of $200 from Citibank Visa today. USPS tracking shows that my "50 lb compressor" has been stuffed into an envelope and has left Chicago.
I am quite disappointed with eBay/PayPal and their lack of support for what anyone can see is a fraudulent scam. I will avoid paypal for any future purchases via eBay.

I'm hoping it's more obvious to them that this is a total scam, because apparently eBay doesn't think it is! That seller has been long gone since the 5th, he's not going to respond, refund, or send a return label!

I will never purchase anything on EBay unless it is on a CC. As I stated earlier the CC company was the only party that took immediate action. No luck with EBay or PayPal. Thank you for the link on the legit seller. I have seen a few more of these compressors being sold on EBay that were located in the US. I think the key is look for the has transaction rate and the good feedback. Not sure if the compressor is worth the low $300.00's. I get my tanks filled for $6.00 each so I would have to fill over 50 tanks to break even. With this compressor last that long? Please anyone that purchased these keep us posted on how they work. Thanks!!

Count em, yes that's 30 5 pesos, from 1947, which, if it was not counterfeit (I don't know if it's real) actually doesn't fetch a bad price on the internet. I think in my case, I'm going to frame it with a caption "Chinese Air Compressorgate 2017" and hang it on the wall. 8)
On another note, I called paypal, and if I want to open a case with them, I would have to wait for 7 days for the seller to have a chance to respond, then I could file a claim and wait 10-20 days for the seller to respond, then if the case was closed in my favor, I would have a refund within 2 days.
I seriously don't understand how some have their money back in hours, and the rest of us get the exact same "you must wait so many days for the seller respond" run around? I am not worried about the 10 day waiting period I'm currently in with Ebay, what I don't get is why the exceptions for some and not for all? Needless to say, I think I only have 3 or 4 days left on my ebay wait and then I will hopefully have that closed in my favor and this can all just be a fond memory.
It's a race to see if the new compressor (I hope it's a compressor) that is actually 48 pounds, actually in Fedex will get here before my refund from the first. LOL
Edit: Just got off the phone with Ebay... The seller has until Wednesday to respond, then I am to call back Thursday if he doesn't and they will "make a decision at that time" about my case. I'm still not soured on this compressor. LOL

Easy to check, put it on a scale. If it is a fake it won't be 30 grams. Also test it with a magnet the fakes are often magnetic, silver is not.

After deciding to go through paypal instead of waiting on EBay, I hit a snag. To open a PayPal case, I would have to close the EBay case that is open. I'm going to wait until the 19th like EBay said, then proceed to PayPal if they delay my refund again. EBay owns PayPal in case anyone didn't know that already...

I filed a transaction dispute through my credit card a couple days ago. I have not heard back, but when I do, I'll send them the pictures of the "compressor" I received and see if they agree I was ripped off. It would be different if there was only one of us going through this BS, but there are several, and eBay knows the seller was a fraud and is no longer using the Seller ID he sold these under, so there's no logical reason for them to hold up issuing refunds. IMO anyway...

Okay, I have to say that is one tough coin!
I started out with my Marauder and the coin taped to an empty pellet tin hanging in front of my target. As you can see below, it blew the coin and tin right through the target.
Next, I attached it to a board. This a good job holding the coin, but the soft lead Pellets weren't really inflicting the amount of damage I felt ole Cheng deserved.
So, I went and got my Varmint and a tun of Gamo Rockets! It still wasn't leaving any significant marks.
I then upped the ante with some H&N Hornets! Now we're talking! They left some very visible dents in that chunk of steel pretending to be a vintage silver coin! I really hope Cheng sends me that Return label!! Here are some pics:

Bottom line...you'll have to pay $57 to send a worthless item to a ghost address in China before PayPal will issue a refund. Best bet is to dispute it with your bank or CC company. Seems like eBay and PayPal are part of the scam, doesn't it?

You can... and you will also have to wait an additional 7 days for the seller to respond to paypal (yes, the clock resets), then you can escalate it in the next 10-20 days if they don't respond, and once they have deemed that the seller is not going to send you a return label, they will make a decision on your case. I just had this phone call Friday after I talked to Ebay.

Yeah, the guy on Friday I talked to specifically stated that it was on the seller to issue a return label for an "item not as described" claim. Obviously that was verbal and apparently wrong??? :o
I specifically asked about it because in the old days this was one way scammers would just "get away with it" was because trackable shipping to China is ridiculously expensive.
So the only hope is that the seller doesn't respond and Ebay/Paypal refunds your money and you get to keep your "compressor"?

In this case the buyer will have to spend $57 (maybe more to China?) to send the worthless item back and MAYBE get a partial refund 30 days or later? Ebay's policy is that the seller pays for the return shipping on item not as described case.. that must have been where I got my wires crossed (I talked to Ebay first, a beer or 2 later, I talked to paypal, it muddied my memory! LOL)

3 - after that 5 day wait I contacted E Bay again and was told I would need to wait another 2 days and to call E Bay back then.
4 - OK I was getting a bit upset but I was at the mercy of EBay so I decided to call PayPal to explain the situation and ask them for a refund. I was told that since I opened the complaint with E Bay I had to go through them 1st till they finished their process.
5 - I waited a couple of days and on Thurs. Sept 14th I called EBay once again and once again I got a reply that I had to wait 2 more days
6 - So on the Sat the16th I called E Bay again and was told the claim could be settled and closed the next day
7 - Sept. 18th I called E Bay again as I forgot to call on the 17th and this time I was told the claim would be closed and I would have a refund within 24 hours to the Credit Card that was used in my PayPal account
8 - I checked my Credit Card info on Sept 18th at 7 PM and my $200 Credit had been applied at 5:09 PM
I totally understand that E Bay has to protect the seller as well as the buyer so they do need to be fair to both. Yay, just got off the phone with Ebay... full refund will be in my Paypal account within 48 hours. They didn't give me any nonsense this time, saw that the seller did not issue a return for the steel coin by the 19th and promptly issued the refund. Took a total of about 2 minutes after the 6 minute initial wait. I'm glad I was patient and didn't do anything stupid besides buy the compressor to begin with. I hope anyone else still waiting on a refund has the same experience, it was basically all total BS but I got my money back and that's what matters most. I will be more careful in the future... ;)

Ebay revenue I'm sure is down since there are now finally so many competitors like Craigslist, Offers, Letgo, Mercari, etc.

I agree that the seller as well as the buyer must be protected from fraudulent claims. However, in this case all the eBay or PP rep has to do is plug in the seller's name and see probably a dozen complaints for the same fraudulent item. In such a obvious scam, why make honest buyers jump thru all these hoops and spend time and money to send a fake coin back to ghost address in China at the expense of $50+ to the guy who got fleeced?

I received an e-mail this morning saying I will receive a full refund within 48 hours. I have to wonder if this is because my CC Company contacted them due to the dispute I filed through them. Either way, I will feel much better once I actually see the refund post to my account. It was a hassle for a scam that was so blatantly obvious after this scum bag had our money! Oh yea, almost forgot, I get to keep the coin! What a bunch of great guys!

I just got off the phone with Ebay (after they asked me to fill out an IC3 report because I had stated "I never received an item even though the tracking shown it as delivered", which was FALSE). >:(
The agent apolized profusely for the "missteps of the previous agents" and would be issuing a refund immediately and closing the case. This agent was wonderful, understanding, interpreted the case and issued a refund. Pretty much exactly how my only other problem with Ebay went (10ish years ago).
In hindsight, I think the main stumbling block for my case was opening it before I actually received the item. I think if I had waited until I actually had it, uploaded pics with the original case it would have been easier. I was actually hoping that Ebay would get enough heads up about this one particular listing that they'd be able to get something from that seller before they disappeared. I learned my lesson. 8)

Count yourself among the lucky. I had my eBay seller account hacked a few years ago and eBay security basically said "tuff S&&t". I filed a case on this "compressor" on Sept 9 and the last I heard from PP was that I had to send it back with proof of delivery (at my expense and at a cost of $50+) before they would consider a refund. I guess it's luck of the draw when you contact them on what they will do. You hit the jackpot, I rolled snake-eyes.

Yep, I recently sent my uncle's WWII dog tag to his son in Norway via the USPS. I inquired about a tracking number and was told that it would require "Priority Service" for $57 if I wanted tracking. I sent it via regular air mail for $1.50. PP requires you to sent the item back with a tracking number (see my earlier post for their email).

I'm sure the scammers in China are well aware of the eBay & PP policies and use them to their advantage. That's why they send the worthless coin in an epacket so they can issue a tracking number (you notice they hold the shipment for about a week before it actually ships, plus the shipping time of 7 to 10 days). This and the refund process gives them at least 2 or 3 weeks to get the money and run before the duped buyer can even file a claim. That plus the waiting period that eBay and PP enforce assures that the scammer is long gone with our cash.

No, I don't believe eBay & PP are knowingly colluding with the scammer but from my own experience the refund and fraud process needs to be overhauled so it does not lend itself to the advantage of the scammer. You had a good experience with paypal and I got the shaft. Here is the email i got from PP:

I am pursuing a refund through my bank & Visa. Neither eBay nor PP has been any help. I filed a fraud claim with PP on Sept 9 and was told I must return the "compressor", with verified tracking, at my expense, before they would consider a refund. Like I said, you hit the jackpot, I got the shaft. If our positions were reversed your faith in PP & eBay might be altered.

I was notified by eBay that I would be receiving a full refund. I haven't seen it post to my account yet, so I'm leaving the dispute I filed with my CC Company open until I see it credited to my account. I agree the refund policy needs an overhaul, especially when several people get scammed by the same seller, and it's pretty obvious it's a scam when the seller completely disappears about the same time a bunch of ePacket tracking numbers are dispatched to the buyers. Seriously, does eBay really expect us to believe a compressor is being delivered in a 4" x 6" envelope? Are they seriously that naive? I know I'm not, and the way I was treated really makes me question purchasing through eBay, specifically with anyone shipping anything from China! Sad a few scum sucking dirt bags have to ruin it for the good, honest sellers!

I called eBay first and they told me to file a claim with PayPal, which I did on 9/8.
I just got off the phone with PP and the rep gave me the BS about "file a complaint with ic3.gov, and then take a screen shot of the complaint and email it to us and we will forward it to review. I told her that was completely unacceptable and got a manager on the line. He said he would reopen the case and review the claim denial. Sounds like some more runaround to me, I have more faith in my CC company resolving this than either EB or PP. I told the mgr that if he looks up the EB seller, he will find the guy closed his account and pulled the same scam on many other buyers.
Any future purchases from EB will not be through PP.

Yep, that's how I see it too. The scammer is long gone with my $200 and PP is doing anything they can to avoid a refund. Hopefully I'll get this resolved by Citibank Visa. I'm going to contact the our local TV Consumer Reporters, maybe they will do a piece about how the EB & PP "Buyer Protection" policy is a sham so other buyers won't get scammed.

I have been on line since before there was an internet, visiting Bulletin Boards and personal servers by dialing the numbers in the back of Computer Shopper and a book I had that was like a Phone Book that I cannot remember the name of right now. But I don't do Facebook hardly at all, never had My-space or any of the others so I never heard of colors signifying anything. I did download a virus before there was an internet too, but I figured it out after installing it but before I ran it, by looking at my .ini and .sys files. It was supposed to be a cute mouse driver add-on for Windows 3.11 for Workgroups. Called BANG LOL It supposedly would SHOOT holes in the Windows main screen when you clicked the mouse with a cursor that looked like a handgun.

EBay and PayPal wanted me to file that BS report with the feds. I called Citi Bank back and they already credited me the $225 and the seller has until Nov. 24 to dispute the refund. You know he'll never contact Citibank, and if they do, I have a Mexican Peso with the matching tracking number. I will only purchase on eBay with my CC in the future. I would not settle for anything less than a full refund!

Goes to show these scammers have figured out how to get their money out of PayPal before everyone starts putting in their dispute claims, otherwise PayPal wouldn't be causing such a fuss and being so ridiculous. Looks like they need to start holding the money a couple weeks longer than they are. Will make sellers mad but pretty stupid these guys are starting to multiply on eBay.

I think Ebay should adopt Aliexpress's escrow system for foreign sellers. Until the buyer receives the item and confirms all is well, the seller receives nothing. Granted, this creates a much higher barrier to entry for foreign sellers (especially on $300 items), but it nearly stops these types of problems dead in their tracks and Ebay isn't coughing up the funds after a seller has skipped town.

I have bought 499 items on ebay with one deal gone bad. it was a laptop hard drive and the seller shipped it just wrapped in card stock taped up. The seller had private feedback and no return policy, so I lost my $30, lesson learned. After that I have only bought from reputable sellers with over six months Great feedback and ships from the US is a strong preference for me. There has been a couple more items that did not meet my expectations but didn't significantly vary from the description enough to say it was the sellers fault. Buying untested airguns I am ahead of the odds, but have gotten two that didn't work. One wasn't fixable it leaks through the transfer port and the barrel is welded to to C02 tube and the valve soldered in so for me that is a wall hanger. I wish all to have a great outcome and refund like some have already, ebay or PayPal should stand up to fraud, if they want to keep a good reputation.

As requested by PP, I filed a fraud claim with the Oklahoma Atty Gen office of consumer fraud and they sent me a letter confirming the claim. I attached it to a reply to my last denial from PP. Today I got an email from PP:

I tried the links they provided to upload docs and those links are dead......seems like they are trying to place any roadblock to consumers who want a refund for an obviously fraudulent purchase. I had to call PP rep and she admitted that the links were not correct, and uploaded the docs for me.
I've lost all faith in eBay and PP, they want to argue about how to send superfluous documents while ignoring the fact that they charged me $200 a month ago and I received nothing in return but a hard time from them.

Agreed, I've been an eBay member since 1999 and have sold collector cars up to $75,000 on eBay Motors. They have made plenty of money off of me over the years and this is the first time I've filed a claim with them. Seems like they are more on the side of the obvious scammer than a long time customer. I'm relying on my Visa to refund the scammed $200. I'll contact the local TV & radio consumer reporters and see if they are interested in airing a piece so other folks will be warned that the the eBay & PayPal "buyer protection" is a joke.

WOW this is going to dissuade a lot of large purchases where they could make the most money. especially from PayPal it takes away one of two main reasons people use them, it make you wonder how hard if at all they are working to keep the account and Credit Card numbers secure from Identity theft also!

I've jumped through all the hoops that PP required including opening a case with the Oklahoma Attorney General Consumer Protection Dept. This makes me wonder what, if any purchases are covered by the so-called "PayPal Purchase Protection" policy. It seems that if they don't want to pay, they just close the case. I've emailed back asking for an explanation of why this purchase is not covered but so far no reply.

I guess it pays to read the fine print in the User Agreement:

In other words if PayPal wants to weasel out of paying they just determine "in their sole discretion" that the purchase doesn't qualify.

This just reinforces my already dim view of Ebay, Paypal, as I stated before when back in 2014(?), Ebay allowed their site to be hacked, I quit using Ebay altogether.
Each person has to make their own decision about such matters but I would rather not deal with merchants that have no security measures in place to keep consumers from getting ripped-off.

9/30 called and requested a representative instead of a computer.... major step-1 !!
talked with a lady with turkish accent and she was very understandable.
told her the whole story and original claim# of my first claim and waiting til 9/30 for help.
she authorized a return claim to be delinquent 10/5 if no response, as she has seen the
activity of this seller.
refund will be generated 10/6 to my paypal account.
this stuff just takes time...just like the time it took to figure out you've been ripped-off !!
2nd rip-off for me, but i did find a reputable seller to sell me a compressor between the two cons i dealt with ::)

I made an offer and accepted a counter offer on Ebay last week for a metal/metal Daisy 880. I paid using PayPal and received the gun today. Had I seen this last response from them I can't say I would have made the purchase. I have never been ripped off or mistreated by either but, it gets deep within that one (or more) of my GTA Brothers have been. This guy took payment for 40+ compressors (as I understand it). Wonder how many he got away with and now can move on to his next scam.

I know they are essentially the same company, and it was still a frustratingly long, drawn out process, but eBay did finally make it right.

In reading this thread it is apparent that there is a great disparity in the responses given to members when they contacted EB or PP. It seems to depend on who answered the phone on the other end as to what resolution was achieved.

I've filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Attorney General Consumer Fraud Dept. as well as Citibank Visa. I expect both will be contacting PP. I am still waiting for an answer from PP as to why my purchase does not qualify for the PP buyer protection policy.....so far?.....crickets.......

I was also one that went through EBay and I had no issue just a 13 day period of going through the normal waiting period of which a couple of those days were my fault for not calling EBay when I was told to call back.
The 1st 5 days was my asking the seller for a refund and when I got no reply EBay jumped in and tried to contact the seller and after their 5 days wait period I called them and was told the seller had not contacted them and I had to wait one more day. Well I forgot to call them till the 12th day and was told refund was processed and funds would be in my account within two days. Well it was there the following day.
I tried to contact PP as I was feeling the process was taking too long but was told since I started with EBay I had to continue with them. Thank God I did start with E Bay!!
The reasoning for my going to EBay 1st was that the purchase was made on EBay so why get PP involved even if the payment was made through them.
Ohhh I got my refund before my collector coin arrived!!

Exactly! They all had descriptions that looked to be cut and pasted! All the under $200 offerings claim to have auto shut-off and alarm at the pressure set by the user and also claim to include the centrifugal oil/water separator, even though the picture shows neither option installed. The person I spoke to in the Escalation Dept states the description trumps the picture, so if a compressor actually arrives and doesn’t match the description, I feel pretty comfortable that Walmart will back me up! Time will tell... and yes, this is the 7th, the first 6 were each cancelled by the vendor.
I did take a screen shot of the last compressor I ordered, it clearly listed all the options that come on the Auto Shut-off, Set-pressure model currently selling for around $350 on eBay! I saw the one that had skin cream as the description, that really cracked me up! Shame on whoever orders that one without reading the description, they may not have the same recourse!

Yep, that's me, an Army of one! I will say that Walmart is much easier to reach and has thus far been much more receptive and responsive than eBay or PayPal with regards to Vendors who may be running scams on their site! I was told it might take a while for them to fully investigate since there were several vendors offering identical compressors at prices that appear to be too good to be true. I'm not sure if or when I may hear back from them, but the rep I spoke to indicated they would be reaching out to me with a resolution. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out...

Cool! Sure would be nice if someone could actually punish these guys somehow other than just getting the money back. They need to get caught and thrown in a Chinese jail or something, lol, although I'm not sure I'd wish that on anyone. ☺️

Well, I'm glad it's you and not me. I have my BP at a comfortable level with my current prescription. No sense inviting trauma. I don't even log onto Facebook. Betty Lou keeps my family abreast of my current condition such as getting my shoe tied in a knot or the occasional tooth ache. Other than that I try to remain drama free.

Good work Paul. My saga with PP & EB is going nowhere. On Sept 30 I got an email from PP asking that I call them so they could discuss their denial of my claim. I responded that I have filed a case with the State Atty General and I would prefer a written explanation of why my claim was rejected, so far?.....crickets. Yesterday I emailed again stating I expect at least the courtesy of a reply to my request and again....crickets.
I did get a letter (not an email) from the Atty generals office confirming they received my complaint and that they have contacted PP and will apprise me of any response from PP. Nothing yet so I can only assume that PP has failed to respond. I'll give it a few more days and then begin presenting the issue to the local TV, newspaper & radio consumer reporters. Hopefully one or more might do a piece on the worthless "PayPal Purchase Protection Policy" and save some other folks from getting scammed.

Make sure you highlight the root cause of this whole mess, the scum-bag Chinese Scammers that seem to enjoy unlimited opportunities to rip people off with no consequences for their actions under the protection of Purchase protection Plans that aren't worth the paper they're printer on! Companies like eBay and PayPal add these layers which allow it to happen with fewer roadblocks for the scammers! This almost sounds like Organized Crime! Is eBay and PayPal owned by some guy named Guido?

It would be interesting to see how many members ordered one of these compressors and had to file a claim with E Bay or PayPal and if they received a refund or not.
I ordered one and received a refund from E Bay within 13 days after I submitted a claim. I am happy with my results as 13 day for E Bay to look into it and process my refund was in my opinion fine.
I went through E Bay for a refund as the purchase was through them and not PayPal. If I had gone through PayPal who knows what may have happened.
I hope others that were scamed will give their results and if the went through E Bay, PayPal or their credit card.

Ebay Shmeebay I say, if I'm going to buy a compressor I'll order it through a second party dealer. I've made a few direct orders from China but everyone of them was inexpensive and the seller had good ratings, I received everything I've order but it was always on a slow boat from China and took a very long time.

Well, the Walmart Compressor order that shipped yesterday was refunded this morning. Reason for the refund was listed as "Customer changed mind." I didn't request the order be cancelled, so the reason is not accurate! I never received any notification from the seller this time, and the tracking number just shows the label was created so too early to see where this one is going! I may call Walmart Escalation agin today and let them know it happened again and see if there's any update on their investigation.

I started my case on 09-05-17, I asked ebay to step on in 09-09-17, I had a refund (after several phone calls and emails) on 09-20-17. So 15 days from my original INAD claim.
BTW, ordered my compressor from Aliexpress on 09-10-17 (Sunday Morning), they first attempted delivery on Monday, 09-18-17 but it required signature so I didn't actually get it until 09-19-17.
Free shipping from china usually = Slow.
Paying $150 for Fedex international economy = Faster than Fedex home from Cali to Michigan.
Also, on Aliexpress until you check the "items received, in good condition and as described", the seller gets no money. I'm a little soured for the time being on buying anything direct from China, but I'm glad I have my compressor now.

Norm, I purchased my compressor coin on Aug 27th, and the refund was in my Paypal account on Sept. 19th. I used Ebay only for the dispute, no Paypal. It would have gone faster if I would have waited for the coin to arrive before starting a complaint, as that threw in an additional step and waiting time. Ebay didn't care how a 45lb compressor shipped in an epacket, they still said wait for it. Oh well, it's their money not mine... I hope everyone gets their refund otherwise it's pretty messed up.

I don't have one of these single piston compressors that are being discussed here. I have the twin piston AirMax Extreme MKII much like the Air Venturi one that Pyramyd Air sells. I have a 100cf and an 80cf SCUBA tanks that I fill regularly from 2600 psi to 3400 psi. If that helps you any. If I had one of these compressors I think I would only fill guns with it. If these things begin selling in the States for around $200 without all the drama, I will probably get one and make it a sealed cooler like John's and use it for road trips.

Thanks, Guys. I'm going to be picking up a 66 CF SCBA Tank to fill my SynRod with and was wondering if anyone was filling/topping off similar sized tanks with a Yong Heng. Will have to have the tank Hydro'd, install a Joe B SCBA, and will initially be filling at a local Dive Shop on a 10 Fill Card for $64. I would think if I bought a Yong Hong down the road for topping off, even with a 5 gal bucket of ice water, it might be prudent to take it easy on these little compressors and not let them run for extended periods.

I use a 5 gallon bucket, add some ice and have ran 20 minutes, temps never got above 55c with the ice. It makes right near 50 psi/minute on my 80cf scuba. Hardly breaks a sweat.

I'm using a 5 gal. bucket filled with water and the entire contents of the ice container from my fridge. I have not modified the stock cooling and my temps stay around 45C.

Fill a milk jug with water and freeze it. Then just drop it in your 5gal bucket when you use the compressor. When done pop the jug back in the freezer. That way you're not always adjusting water level. I use a 5gal bucket with a cover so the water don't evaporate and Rambo the Rescue Dog don't drink it..... lol
P.S. I also think (if I can remember to buy some) I'm going to add some red food coloring to the water so I can monitor movement thru the clear hoses.

My compressor is now a key component in keeping the ice in my icemaker tub the freshest it can be... no stale ice or huge clumps for us! I usually just grab 3 large cups full for a 20 minute run.

got notification this morning during hurricane support @ NASP, ebay girl said she wanted a copy of the IC3 report......fair enough, filled out claim form and uploaded to there site.
15min later, got a call back instructing me to be aware the full refund will be in my account
within 24-48 hrs.
this is the 2nd time in 3.5 months i got COINED for a compressor and ebay produced 100%
satisfaction guaranty as advertised. you just got to be patient and provide information.
i will continue to purchase things on ebay as i have since 1995.

I'm happy for those who did get a refund, I'm still getting the runaround from PP. I got a call from a rep last week and she said that even tho my Visa was charged by PP, I didn't specifically open my PP account and complete the purchase thru them, so I am not covered by their Purchase Protection Plan. She seemed miffed that I filed a complaint with the State Atty General (they required that I file a claim with a govt agency, which is exactly what I did). I suspect they were contacted by the Atty General and are being investigated for not issuing a refund. She said she would email a followup/recap of our conversation. This did not happen and is the third time I have requested a written explanation of their denial of a refund......so far?....... crickets. They are reluctant to put anything in writing.
I've been buying and selling on eBay and using PP for about 20 years and always believed I was covered against fraud. This is the first time I've been scammed and I am rethinking doing any more business with them based on this experience. Seems simple to me....I bought an item on eBay, PayPal charged my Visa, I never received the item and now they are trying to weasel out of making good on their obligation to refund my $200.

i don't know if its too late...i've been playing this out since we knew it was a scam.
about 8/30. i had to wait 27 days for him to ship, 6 days for him to reply. then 2 days for ebay to think about it. 4 hours after that, i have my refund...... 8)

John, Is it too late to file a complaint through eBay for an item not as described? That seems to have worked for the rest of us. It did take a while but ultimately we were made whole!
I may try that Paul. Last Fri I sent a followup letter to the State Atty General along with copies of emails to & from PP. I'll wait to hear from them before deciding on the next course of action. Right now I'm a bit pizz'd at PP and want to see them make it good rather than my Visa or EB. If I can get any of the local consumer reporters to do a piece on the phony PP "Purchase Protection" scam I think they will lose more than the $200 I got scammed for. The local metro media market is close to half a million ppl.

Just received an email from Ebay, has anyone else gotten this? I'm wondering if it's related to the Yong Gate fiasco. I poked around and found nothing out of the ordinary...

if they did not call you by your real personal name thats on your account, its a scam
fraud email.
forward it now and dont open any attachments in that email.

Sign in to your eBay acct, (don't use any links in the email). Check your messages and make sure the email you received is in fact from eBay. Could be a phishing scam.

It is legit, I went to the EBay site and it had signed me out and I couldn't get on without resetting my password. It was in my messages there as well. I do buy quite a bit on the Bay, so it could have come from many places.

Glad it was a legit message, can't be too careful! I hope their security and customer service improves. I'm still stinging from losing $200 to the Chinese scammer.

I am still getting the run around on this. My Citi Bank Visa claims they heard from the merchant and the merchant is disputing the charges and are refusing a refund. I told Citi back today that I had the e-packet, the coin and tracking number which matches the small package. It can not be disputed that I did not receive the compressor. Citi Bank said they will send me a letter and then I can respond to the merchant's refund refusal. The bottom line, EBay has been worthless and there is not much protection for fraudulent transactions!!

Join the club John. PayPal refused a refund "because you did not log into PayPal before completing the purchase". Never mind that my Visa card was charged $200 by PayPal and I never received the item I paid for. Seems like the PayPal and eBay "Buyer Protection" is a joke.

My college finally got his refund from eBay. He had to call them, escalate it to a supervisor and then get stern with the Supervisor, but did ultimately prevail and received his refund. Way more of a hassle than it should be!

In addition to dealing with Citi Bank, I am still battling with EBay, who removed my negative Feedback from the seller "Chenglong9842" and said they would not give me a refund. I appealed it and they said, "Unfortunately we can not change the outcome of the case" Can not or will not? They are capable of taking care of their customer if they really want to. My next move is to talk to a supervisor over the phone. Thanks Paul for the heads up!!! How hard is it to determine fraud in a case in which you order a $225 compressor and a Mexico Peso shows up with the tracking number that is documented on the original EBay transaction?

His was denied by eBay also, and while talking about it and the conversation he had with the supervisor, it almost seemed the original decision was made by a computer. Since Chenglong9842 is no longer anywhere to be found on eBay and probably the majority, if not every compressor sold was probably a scam, I don't see how they can justify refusing a refund! Well, that was the argument he used and it worked for him, I hope you have the same outcome!

WOW, I can't believe some of you are still fighting to get your money back! This Yong Gate has really opened my eyes to be very careful buying stuff on Ebay, and I will try to avoid it in the future when price allows. I'm thinking they are hurting bad from Amazon and Walmart, and it's time to tighten their belt. But not refunding fraudulent items wouldn't be my first choice on saving money. Sorry guys, don't give up you will get your money... I can give you my case# if you want to throw it in their face that others got a refund.

did all you folks that have not been refunded your money, actually get a notice from ebay stating they WILL NOT refund your money after the investigation takes place.... before you started looking elsewhere like paypal or your credit card company ?

I first called eBay, they referred me to PayPal who has weaseled out of a refund.
Beware of buying anything from eBay or using PayPal. I suspect that they have had many complaints and requests for a refund from this seller, and after too many refunds they are now refusing any refunds for this compressor scam.
Read the fine print, you are not really covered with the fake "Buyer Protection" guarantee from eBay and PayPal.

There are rumors that scamming is also happening on Amazon....I suppose from foreign shipping partners (not amazon itself).
Like I said, rumors but you know whenever there is smoke.........

Just an Update...My Citi Visa just confirmed my refund after a couple of months. I had to provide them with some supportive documentation. Here is the best part..That peso the clown from China sent me...It is 99 % silver it is a genuine 1872 Republica Mexicna Peso in great shape..they are worth $100-$150. So some what of a happy ending!

Well I shot mine after checking it with a magnet and there was no doubt it was a steel coin!
Silver will not attach to a magnet!

That was me! And yes, it was a cheap hunk of steel. Stuck to a magnet, and since it's still screwed to a board with some other targets, it's rusted considerably sitting out in the weather!
