I'm relying on my Visa to refund the scammed $200. I'll contact the local TV & radio consumer reporters and see if they are interested in airing a piece so other folks will be warned that the the eBay & PayPal "buyer protection" is a joke. Good luck with that!

Good luck with that!WOW this is going to dissuade a lot of large purchases where they could make the most money. especially from PayPal it takes away one of two main reasons people use them, it make you wonder how hard if at all they are working to keep the account and Credit Card numbers secure from Identity theft also!
You gotta be kidding me.
So basically, even though it's obvious that you didn't receive a compressor, PayPal is saying it's OK that they promote and condone theft and deception for profit.Awesome.

I did not go through PayPal, I dealt exclusively with eBay, and they did rule in my favor and refunded my $200.00. Just curious why you went through PayPal and not eBay? I know they are essentially the same company, and it was still a frustratingly long, drawn out process, but eBay did finally make it right.

QuoteI contacted eBay first and they directed me to PayPal.Well, I would re-contact eBay and explain that due to their directing you to PP, you were denied whereas others who went through eBay first despite paying with PayPal were ultimately refunded. Maybe mention the word Attorney and Class Action Lawsuit and see if that jars loose any stuck gears?
