My wife got pulled over

My wife was going to the post office to pick up my BB gun, when she saw another car pulled over. She pulled into the post office and next thing you know the officer turns on his lights. She said she was scared and did not know what she had done wrong. The officer got out of his car and walked up to my wife's window and asked "Where did you get those black rims"? "I just bought a black Camaro and those really look good." Then he asked what the car would do and my wife told him that she could not afford a ticket and even worse listening to her husband about how she got a ticket. He told her to wait until 2 or 3 in the morning and punch it. (I think he was setting her up).

Use  of his lights to simply talk to her about a personal issue (to him) was probably a breach of operational standards.  You might consider talking to his supervisor about both that and his suggestion that she "try out" your car some morning.

We live in a small town of about 600, just the way of life in in the south where everyone knows everyone else. We even know when our children get in trouble before they get on the school bus.

Just my suspicious side. That is the way the town makes money. Most of the town's income is from speeding tickets on the highway. I even went to high school with the Chief of Police. I must confess neither of us were choir boys. LOL

Since that is a small town, I'll tell ya what to do if you wanna see how fast you car can go and not get into trouble.

Call the local Doughnut shop and ask them to flip on the the "Hot-N-Now" glazed doughnut sign.  While the local fuzz is assaulting the Doughnut shop, you'll be home free.

I really do not want my wife to see how fast she goes, that should be my job. I do have a radar detector. LOL

I do feel honored that the cop was asking about my rims though. I did get lucky on the rims, they were free.

I can relate living in IL. We have red light ticket cameras on many intersections here. If you speed through it or run a light they mail you a ticket with pictures of you going through the intersection and links to a video of you driving through.
In Chicago, they even changed the timing of the lights from yellow to red from 3 seconds to 2.5 or so just to get extra ticket money.
The number of red light tickets went through the roof and people protested it.

I was a cop for 33 years and a chief of police for 5 . The cop was hitting on your wife and should have his tail chewed out for the improper use of the over heads. He was in a parking lot for Gods sake he could have parked and walked over to talk. He should be jerked up by his short hairs for his own good.

No harm, he was just interested in the car. His Camaro (with dealer tags) was parked across the street. He was also floored that I paid $5000 less than he did (I got rebates). Besides the young dude was not interested in an old lady. LOL I still think it is funny, as does the wife.
