Tim, I ordered both of them in wood, one had a good finish and the other one was a little messed up. That gave me an excuse to strip and refinish the stock. The bare wood looked pretty good, no filler.
I ordered these to get some experience tuning under levers,I've tuned two break barrels,my Gamo big cat 1400 and a friends TF 89, made them a lot smoother.
On one of my new rifles the anti bear trap isn't engaging my safety,tried adjusting it a bit but no luck. Any ideas? Compared the way it looked with the rifle that works,can't see any obvious difference.

I pulled the trigger assembly out of my new B3-1 and gave it a good stoning. Made it a bit smoother on the break.

The trigger safety is not automatic. You have to manually push it back to safe the trigger.

The anti bear trap engages when the cocking lever is back. The back end of it slides under the inside part of the trigger. If it's bent it might slide up against the side of the trigger instead of under it. If it's bent the other way it might be to high to stop the trigger from moving or is not even over the trigger. If you can cock with  it out of the stock you can see how it works.

Thanks Tim, I'll take off the stock today and take a closer look. All you guys are great, I'm able to learn a lot faster with all the experience on this forum.An old dog can learn new tricks,remembering is a whole new issue.

Before that cock the gun and hold the cocking lever firmly and try to pull the trigger if nothing happens the Anti-bear trap is working. Then push the safety lever back toward the trigger, load a pellet, close the breach and return the lever back to the front sight. Point in in a safe direction and try to pull the trigger. If it don't shoot the trigger safety is working. Push it forward and shoot.

If you take the stock off lay the gun across you lap, trigger pointing up. You'll have to hold down the cocking linkage down where the two pieces join. Once it's cocked you can look down into the trigger assembly and work the lever back and forth and see how it sides over the bottom front end of the trigger assembly in front of the trigger blade.

Here is an update to how well these guns perform. I had a chance after work in the fading light to take a few shots from 17 yards sitting on the back step. I rested it across a plastic lawn chair with peep sight and a medium recoil pad, I managed a respectable 3 shot group off about an inch top to bottom. I was using the H&N FTT 14.66G pellets and again very low light condition.
