I would never hunt with a springer because of that. when zeroing your gun try different hold. try tight loose hold cheek on off the stock etc. see if it changes POIWell, I was hoping that by posting those target pictures, we could save this thread from the typical, "Let's all jump of the "Blame the shooter" band wagon", but I guess not. While that may be warranted in some cases, those targets should be enough to convince anyone that I know how to hold and shoot my gun to get a consistent pattern. I have been shooting springers almost "Exclusively" for 26 years. I know about hold sensitivity. Otherwise, I could not put 10 pellets through a dime size hole at 30 yards with a 13 mph crosswind. Hopefully this will resolve the question of shooter error and we can move past this.

POI changes with the hold and your pics of groups at 30 yds in the wind with tiny groups is your version. no one else would know if it was at ten yds with no wind. when guys get nasty and are braggers I tend not to believe what they say unless I witness it
Let's give Victor some benefit of the doubt and give him some support here. I think he knows what he is doing and he is just asking for a recommendation to a good sub $100 scope. Hey Victor did you check your rifle crown...

I see now. You are one of those modern thinkers that believes everyone is a liar unless they prove to you they are not. Thanks for the warning. I am of the old school that believes that we should give everyone respect until the prove themselves unworthy of it; which is obviously the opposite of what you believe. If you are going to call me a liar, please feel free not to respond to any my threads ever again. Thank you.
Be nice people!Something seems strange. How can the scope it self be faulty when you can shoot groups like that?Shouldn't the groups be more erratic?
Quote from: mista meener on November 11, 2015, 03:21:20 PMYeah I say I don't believe you shot at 30 yds in the wind like that and after nicely giving you a way to possibly find a cure you attacked me for not realizing I was in the presence of a superior being. why would you ask mere mortals to solve a problem for you?
Obvious you are a big mouth braggart. I am really scared now. I aint your friend. I tried to provide a solution nicely and you attacked me that is what happened. so now I will wait for high winds so I can shoot tiny groups with tiny pellets with the BC of a rock. thanks for the info
Stefan makes a good point here. I have had scopes slide in the rings--either forward/backward or CW/CCW. Forward or backward usually gives elevation errors. Canting usually elevation and windage errors. I made pencil marks in front and behind each ring (just trace along the edge of the ring all the way around the tube), and then small marks perpendicular to those to check for canting(these need to be marked on the tube and ring). Not sure if this is your issue, but it stands to reason since you are shooting good groups but the groups are moving around. Might be worth a shot.Scotty
Hey Vector, I see your in Texas, I grew up in Tx. and miss it very much. I just came in from the wind 25-45mph winds today, just shot some nice 1' groups with my D34. I enjoy shooting in the wind, lots of fun. I hope you find a good sub $100 scope. when you do be sure to let us know. I know I would like a scope in that size and price for my HW30. good luck and happy shooting.
What kind of rifle are you using?
