I don't post many hunting stories because I skin out squirrels on my stand while hunting so I don't take photos, and I know the picture rule. However, since this was my first tree rat of the year I figured I'd post.
I hadn't done any scouting, but just figured that I'd try an old spot. I wore a camo sweat shirt and put on a mask to blend in. Nothing with fur was moving early, but around 10 am I saw movement to my right. I first thought that it was one of the song sparrows that I had been seeing. I kept looking and it turned out to be a nice gray. It bounded in my direction and it stopped to dig, and as it stood up I raised my Stoeger x20 and took him with a Crosman HP . The .22 hp entered it's head and traveled into it's throat killing him instantly. I skinned him out and took the meat, I also took the the tail for lure dressing. (I've been catching some hickory shad with hooks dressed with white bucktail and squirrel tail hair.

Congrats on the first of the year. Enjoy the nutter meat
BTW.... is there supposed to be a picture? If so it's not showing up. If not then never mind
Again, congrats on a successful harvest.

If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting it would be shopping.

Thanx...
I'll wait to get a couple more before I eat this one.
Sorry , I know it looks like a picture should be there, but I don't have one. The space is because I screwed up with the computer screen.

Got my second of the year today. Stoeger x20 with ,22 hp. I took a brain shot and when I skinned it I found that the pellet exited his brain and into the neck. Instant kill, at 10 yards.
He had a nice tail for lure dressing.
I need one more for a dinner.

I know what a Nutter downed by an X20 looks like, so I can picture it
Congrats on the harvest, good luck on the search for one to keep him company in the pot!

Thanks.. I should bring a camera, but I never remember.
I got a flip phone that takes pics, but don't have a wire to connect to the computer. I guess I should get one, one of these days.
