Scope cam maiden voyage

The other day Trim Tab posted a DIY for a simple mount for an iPhone to use as a scope cam.
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=98913.0
I've been wanting to try something like this so I hit Amazon and ordered a spare iPhone case and picked up the ABS pipe and fittings from a local home center. Then last night I put it together in hopes I'd be able to give it a try today before the torrential rains began. Some spoiled epoxy stymied my efforts but I managed to get it sorted out at the expense of rest last night but hey, I can sleep while it's raining.
Here are some pictures of the result:
So far so good. I decided to give it a try on the .177 QB79 HPA.
It was a little fidgety to get aligned but after tinkering with the thumbscrews, I had a decent sight picture and proceeded to take some test shots at the bench. Things looked good so I headed down the street to the permission to see if I could bag a squirrel.
When I arrived, I pulled the rangefinder from my pocket and scanned the trees. Right away I spotted a squirrel about 50 yards away. I stalked up a bit to brace myself on a fence post and ranged him at 42 yards which is a 1 mildot holdover. I trimmed the video and what you don't see is me lining up 3 times and then pulling away to resituate. But eventually I sent the 8.4gr Air Arms on its way...
The POA (and POI) was further back than I wanted so he didn't fold up hard but it got the job done. And while it's evident I'm not going to get stellar video with a cell phone mounted behind a budget scope, it still exceeded my expectations so I'm looking forward to experimenting some more.
Thanks for reading, guys!

Good shoting, it takes awhile to get use to shooting thru scoope. Very frustrating for me but I still try here and there. Hard part for me is finding the hold spots on your gun to shoot straight without it tipping/nudging left right up down when you pull the trigger.

Very cool Jason, I'm glad to see your getting into scope cam video. You always seem to have some great shots, pics and hunting spots and I look forward to more vids.

Very nice. Keep shooting like that. The more you do it, the easier it becomes for you. I run the scope cam set up along with an above the scope cam. The through the scope cam does a great job at showing the impact of the pellet.
Looking forward to more of your videos.

you can straighten out your reticle pic by twisting the mount of your scope, does the same thing when I use my nite site viper may "look" crooked when looking at the set up but the reticle will be correct

Guys, thanks for the words of encouragement. I tweaked the mount yesterday and it fits better now. I'll practice with it some more and see if I can get some better footage next time. Napoleon, you're spot on when you say the hold is awkward. Now I know why the Hawk Eye mount is advantageous.
