Hatsan torpedo 100x Anybody??
«

October 25, 2015, 04:22:03 PM »
Just ordered a Hatsan 100x (.177) from Field Supply. Closeout sale $119, $3.99 shipping. Have wanted one for a couple of years and @ $119 I can afford this.
I have a Centerpoint 4-16x40 ($35 Walmart special) Is this good to go for this rifle? Questions for anyone that has a 100x, anything special I should know and what ammo does yours shoot best? Please advise, thanks Bill.

Have had one for over a year, 177 also. Have not shot it a lot, less than a tin of pellets. Use heavy pellets 9 grain and up or it will break the sound barrier. Cocking is heavy and loading that little .177 pellet can be challenging. Accuracy is ok. In retrospect I wish I would have bought a .22.

Forgot to add that the rifle is heavy and long, quite a handful. I like my model 95 in .177 better.

I would shoot it for awhile to get the oil blown out before you put a scope on it or it will break it. Shoot it across a chrony, check trigger pull, mess with trigger adjustment, test different pellets, zero the open sights. Then put a scope on it. Make sure the bolt handle is all the way closed. There's a notch. If not it can blow open and it's like a dry fire. Had to take the rear open sight off to mount the scope. Had to have an off set scope mount, weaver type. The brass barrel release on the front sight Assembly, one side can back off the threads and fall off. And the brass part of the bolt handle also. I blue-lock-tight both. When you cock it the brass release button on the bottom of the gun should jiggle. If it's tight and don't move the gun is not all the way cocked. You need another click or when you go to release it it can fly out of you hand. Two hand cocking. I've got a Hammers 3-9X32AO on mine. It's held up.

The scope mount I got on my 100X, 155, 135 and 200s carbine is a Leapers Accushot 1 piece with 1"rings and off set. PA has'em. Part # PY-A-1826. $14.95. They work for me. Leather tab on the end of a chinese AK sling fit the sling mounting rings perfect.

I use 10.5 grains only through My 100X and I use weaver type scope mounts to reduce the shock this thing puts on scopes. here are my chrony numbers for reference.
Crossman 10.5g=970 fps=21.94 fpe
Crossman HP 7.9g=1117 fps =21.89 fpe
RWS 8.4g=1095 fps =22.37 fpe
Gamo red tip 7.8g=1154 fps =23.07 fpe

Kevin, thanks for that great info. How do they do for accuracy? Also will the 10.5 gr affect the spring? Thanks again Bill.

Tim, question on the bolt and lever release button, do they just unscrew and are they tough to take off? Thanks again, Bill.

The lever release button stays in the stock when the action is removed. The accuracy of mine is great out to 50 yards with less than 1" groups.I am going to make mine into a HFT gun for next year with some detuning to smooth out the firing cycle and get below the 20FPE max limit.

Me and Tim will be shooting our Hatsans next month together at a fun shoot in Cross SC. I actually converted my 105X to the 100X by purchasing the wood stock from Hatsan USA.

Kevin, is that Als' lowcountry fun-shoot? Long thread interesting read. Ole Tom Cat is a great help sharing his knowledge. I have a BSA Polaris that if I ever need work on I would send to him. Do you and Tim tune your Hatsan's? Does Ole Tom Cat tune Hatsan's?

Yes, I will be and old Tom cat will tune your Hatsan if needed. The last springer I shot he tuned was like melted butter.

If the brass part of the bolt or barrel release on the side of the front sight is tough to take off leave it alone. The ones on my gun loosened up and I lock tight them. The ones on my 155 and the .22 155 I sold never got loose.
I couldn't say about ammo . I haven't shot the 100X in awhile. If I had bought the 155 first I wouldn't have got the 100X. they're the same gun, ones just bigger.
I'm not a tuner. I just learn to shoot the guns I got. If I wanted to tune one, "which one". Can't afford to get them all tuned. I have "re-built" several B3's, B2's, B3-1 AK's and a QB57, a Winchester 1000. They were cheap off the internet or from pawn shops.
Ole Tom Cat is going to put a new trigger in my Silent Cat at the fun shoot. He knows his Gamo's. I sold him a CFR. I really want to try it when he gets done with it. He tuned a Benjamin Titan GP and installed a new trigger for another friend of ours and it turned out sweet.

Tim, thanks for all the info. I will leave the bolt and lever release alone. I still waiting for Field Supply to send me a shipping e-mail. When I get it I'm just going to clean it and shoot it. After after a hundred shots I'll scope it.
Ole Tom Cat gave me some good advise when I got my BSA Polaris (same as CFX Royal) and because of that If I ever need to repair either He's the guy I would send them to for repair and tune.
