I'm clueless on the differences. Thinking about getting a Benji pcp but am confused by these different names. I would like to get a .25. Is there any mechanical differences in them?

Get a 25 caliber.
Either gen is fine. Neither one has a good depinger, so you may want to add an after market one.

Airgun values: high-accuracy, very-quiet, light-weight, good balance, lots of consistent shots per fill (usually from regulator), magazine repeater, side lever, two-stage adjustable trigger
Optics values: must hold zero, clear image, bright image, fine reticle with mildots, light-weight, side focus
Airgun motivation: pest elimination, target shooting, super tuning, accurate long-distance shots

Synrod= Synthetic stock version of Marauder. Gen 2 is the newer and improved version that is currently being sold.

In Gen 2 you can get a lightweight syn stock or more sturdy wood stock. Both have adjustable cheek/comb risers. Gen 1 is only available from the used market and have wood stock with no adj riser. Gen 2 has a better baffle system, reversible bolt, better ergonomics, and some minor mechanical differences. The Gen 2 25 cal can get a flatter 40fpe tune.

The Gen II trigger is quite decent with very little effort
