Weihrauch HW57

There is not much talk about the HW57 rifle around here, and I wondered why.  It seems to be similar to the 50S in regard to power and weight.  Being an under-lever and with the unique loading port I wondered what the consensus was about this rifle.  Does it have any design issues that need attention ?  How about accuracy ?  And how much cocking effort is required ?  Does it compare with the 50S ?  There must be some of you out there who either own this model or have owned it in the past.  I'm interested in hearing from you about the qualities and characteristics of this rifle for a possible future purchase.

I've never owned one,I have read where there are sealing issues with the pop up breech.

Iirc they where sold here about 11 years ago. Almost bought one but at that time they had port alignment issues, and I bought a R6 instead.

Its a nice, accurate gun. It actually is a little easier cocking than the 50. AOA just began selling them again a couple weeks ago after a long hiatus from US import. They fixed the port alignment issue a while back, and I've not experienced any problems with it after shooting a tins worth.
 I like its power level and size so much, I bought a HW50. Apparently I'm not much an under lever fan, I've discovered.

I sorta kinda regret selling mine. I say sorta, because NOW I see them available in .22. It would be a bit less awkward to load into the port with the bigger pellet. I say that it was MUCH easier to cock than the 50S. Only a bit more effort then the R7. So yes, 50S power, easier to cock, and perhaps a bit bit more involved than a break barrel.

There does not seem to be much of a following for this rifle.  I guess I'll hold off from buying one at least for now.  Perhaps more information will be available at a latter date.

imho over priced, $495 same as a HW35E, or $529 for a HW80

I recently noticed this gun on the AOA site myself. After watching a youtube video on a guy shooting one , I became very interested in the way they are loaded. Now I am itching to order one in the .22.
