Thanks, Bob; and the new eyewear can go much good. In July, I had a slight change in my lenses. I made things sharper at distance. Just what I needed for driving and squirrel hunting. It didn't help much when I am bicycle riding because I go soooooooo slooooowwww!

I think I am going to make a necklace with the handful of Polymags you gave me and give it to Judy for a Christmas Present. It should be worth over $600. Hey, yeah, that would be cool - polish the lead and then "Clear Coat" the whole thing. It would sparkle and the little red tips would look like rubies.
Before I do that though, I am going to clean out the pump shed and maybe put in a little cot and a heater.

Monday - December 14, 2015

Okay enough joking around - time to get back to some serious stuff!
This morning I needed to go check the phone line at my mother's home. The alarm company said it was not working properly. While there, I went in the back pasture and hunted for a few hours. ** The squirrels were moving about shyly. I sat for a long while and finally got a shot at one. He received a JSB in the head and it was an instant lights out. I almost pulled the trigger on another which moved at the last moment. <--- It didn't stop while I could still see it. The squirrels seemed very nervous - the birds were very noisy and the trees were dripping from the rains last night. I will remember not to go too early on a morning after rains.

** The farmer is cutting the sugar cane in my usual hunting spot. I will not hunt there until he is finished.

The area around my mother's home was 100% Gray Squirrels until this year. But the Fox Squirrels are quickly taking over. Aww shucks!

Yeah, I have been pretty busy. Last time I went squirrel hunting I missed several.

I have been wanting to get back out to squirrel hunt but deer hunting is my priority right now. I have been given permission (actually more like required lol

) to kill all the deer out of my neighbor's orchard.

I usually get alot of squirrel hunting in in January to Feb.

Friday afternoon - December 18, 2015

Mama said there would be days like this!
I loaded my Discovery as I was walking across the harvested sugar cane field. As I walked back to my bicycle, I shot that same pellet into the dirt to clear my rifle.

After the blustery winds calmed down at about 4:00 o'clock, I did see four or five squirrels. The trouble is that they had seen me first. The only one I ALMOST got to shot ducked into a hole/nest just as I was about to dial it in.
On the plus side, it was cool and the breeze kept the mosquitos away. All in all, it was a nice day to be in the woods.

The picture you don't see is of the squirrels I didn't kill. lol

I went out yesterday and did not get a thing either. That is why it is called hunting though...it would not be fun if you got one every single time.
