Contacted Crosman about parts and if they had any "How Tos" on installation and they gave me a link for this site. Was given a Crosman .22 Cal nitro venom dusk CD8M22NP that was missing the power piston. Before ordering anything I figured I'd spend some time learning about it to make sure I don't buy something only to find out there were other choices that were available. Piston broke so replacing it and the piston seal is a given but am wondering if at the same time I'm doing that I should also do the breach seal ?

Welcome Mark. You'll find more info than you can imagine here. Ask in the propper gate or search the library. What part of WI are you from?

Hi, Mark. Welcome to the GTA!!
To do the job you will need to build or buy a spring compressor. A new piston seal and a good quality moly lube should complete the job. At some point you'll probably decide to do something about the trigger, too.

My trigger recommendation is that you order part ELS-100 FOR $15 AND replace the whole trigger pack. You won't be sorry.

I have a dusk, that I acquired from a member. lights out accurate with the crosman CPH in the tin. invest in a charliedatuna trigger, while you're at it. you can make the factory trigger "barely acceptable " by polishing every mating surface, and removing the trigger return spring, but, it's still a far cry from a good trigger. don't forget to polish the sear engagement slot in the back of the piston, as well.
