Hey guys, I just gave my Benjie 392 a custom paint job. Maybe some of ya'll have done up your shooters with some of your own paint, i'd love for anyone who's got custom paint to show it off with pride!

Nothing spectacular here but it sure changed the overall look of the rifle.

Looking good Austin.
Brett how does the paint hold up? I just might try that on one of my QB's. My complaint is the wood is very soft and will dent just laying it on a pellet.

if you're concerned about denting the wood, try bedliner first, then, paint over it with some krylon paint for plastics. that should work.

Thanks Don! I agree with Scott on the whole krylon thing. Or you might try a harder paint, I was gonna go with a caliper paint but opted for less reflection with flat colors. the bed liner might give you more weight, but it sure would be durable.

If anyone has a Shadow dressed airgun, you have a work of art. I had the distinct honor to purchase one of his last works of art from Gene when he was liquidating his collection. I urge anyone with a Shadow airgun to post pictures of theirs. I'll try to get a moment to shoot a photo of mine and add it here.

Shadow dressed? Most intriguing, Dave. I would definitely like to see that. I maybe a redneck, but I have a deep respect for art of any kind.

I do Custom Pyrography. (Woodburning on wood stock)

Finally had just a minute before I'm off to another event. I took a few snaps of my XS-B20. A few years ago we had a great member here named Ed Ehrisman aka Shadow. He operated a tuning and custom camo painting service. Due to health reasons, Ed had to stop doing what he loved. I wish him well and really would love to see him be able to return to what he really enjoyed!!!
But, here is an example of his work that I am honored and proud to have purchased from Gene. Gene trained Ed as a tuner when he decided to retire. So this airgun has a legacy.
Ed did several great works of art and I wish more of our members would bring theirs forward and let us all see them.

A Crosman Titan (sold under the Crosman banner for a short time before it was marketed as a Benjamin). Wood was added to the underside of the fore end, the nose of the fore end, and the grip. Wood was removed from the trigger well and comb areas.

This is actually plan "B." I stained it and applied Tru Oil, and the Asian beech rewarded me with horrible green and gray blotches. (I should have used a varnish stain that would lay on top and hide the wood, just like the factory finish.) I figured, I already have a smooth, sealed surface. What could hide the ugliness better than black paint? It was clearcoated with polyurethane, rubbed out, and waxed. The grip panels are bed liner.

Wow , Adin, that pyrography is amazing; I don't think i've ever seen anything like that before! Motorhead, that is a nice two tone, beyond my skill/patience to do. Dave, all I can say is that you were 100% right! That rifle looks absolutely beautiful! Laz awesome Condor, i thought about doing a desert ERDL but decided i'm not that good. Great posts so far, everyone! Keep'em comin!
