Using the JBM Ballistics Calculator, and using a BC of 0.15 and 1000 fps, scope at bore height, and sighted in at 700 yards shows the bullet 20.4" above the line of sight at 10 yards, which is 195 MOA (just 3.25* elevation for the boreline), which is the maximum angle.... The bullet rises 443.5" above the line of sight at 370-380 yards downrange, which works out to 37 ft....Bob

I truly hope so

700 yds!?!?! That is crazy far! I don't think I could even see the cans at 24X on my scope. That is just awesome. And thanks for leaving the ranging shots in the video and not editing them out.I dub thee "Soda Sniper"!So now 2 liter bottles at 1,400 yards right?

Go for it, bro.Thank You, MicErs..............Very nice of you to ammend the post and i will do likewise..........CarlTruth is what made me do that is that I was thinking about what kinds of shooting was done at a 1000 yards in the Black Powder days. It then flashed through my feeble mind that you are shooting at the same velocities, give or take a smidge, with better boolits, so...It would be interesting to know your maximum ordinate on that flight path.=)

Excellent shooting Carl. Just wondering how do you get to the cans or targets to reset them at 700 yds?
I am doing this strictly for fun and holds interest for me..........Once i get to the limit of being able to hit something i will be off to another project and will have lost interest.....Carl
ChairGun has a Widget that calculates maximum range.... Using that same BC of 0.15 and an MV of 1000 fps, it says the maximum range is 2264 yards when fired at 34* Elevation, and it would reach an altitude of about 1900' at the apex.... The flight time would be about 21.5 sec, and it would have a terminal velocity of about 310 fps.... If fired straight up, it would reach an altitude of about 4700'.... about 35 seconds flight time, and the only a fractionally higher terminal velocity.... Bob
BC means very little if your bullet doesn't match the model used for the BC.... If you are using the G1 Model, and the bullet is a lot different in shape (which it is), then the calculations won't be perfect.... ChairGun has several models built in, I used the G1, and a BC of 0.15 for the examples I gave.... I don't know what the Hornady uses for their model, but the JBM uses the G1 as the default, but also has several built in.... I'm not sure what you mean about the BC degrades as the bullet slows down.... The drag actually will be near minimum at about 600 fps for most bullets....Bob
Very nice !
