Condor Ext .257

 Hey Guys

Just thought I would put a picture of my Condor Ext .257 up.
Just finished it couple of weeks ago. Had it with me at the fun shoot.
Wasn't ready to use it yet but shot it after. So far I love how it shoots. I am
using Josh Porters .257 74gr bullets @ 960sh fps, and the accuracy is wonderful.
The barrel is a 32" RL Airguns barrel, the valve was made by Doug. I have an
o-ring behind the top-hat to reduce the power. Without the o-ring fps is 1025.
filling the tank to 3300 gives me a few shots, still experimenting on best fps.
Hoping to use the Condor Ext .257 and my MAC30BR in benchrest extreme.




If you haven't tried them yet Josh's pellets are very nice and he does his best to
fit them to your gun. He can also build the Condor Ext.

This looks really good.  I have been thinking about doing the same thing.  Waiting to see the Slayer in .308 at the shot show before I make a decision.

What size air tank is that and where did you get it?

What's the longest distance you have shot so far?

I got the tank and valve from Doug. I'm shooting out to 100yds.
Zeroed at 50 it's 1 1/2 mil down to 100. A guy doing videos TOFAZFOU
has the same setup and has shot coke cans out over 250yds.

I thought you might have gotten the tank from Doug.  It looks like one of his.  Cedric, "TOFAZFOU", has been very helpful to me on trying to figure out which way to go, .257 or .308. He does have some good videos on his channel.

What size tank is that?

Err Say what? Does NOE make custom molds? I've been watching that forum every day and I'm sure didn't miss any .257 mold...Do You mean that Ideal Spitzer drawing which TPL did? Just trying to boost people to get interested that mold to get 10 buyers

It's the 100 grain Spitzer FP That Al makes. I milled the face of the mold blocks to intersect the final lube grove. As it has concave lube groves, it gave me a small, rebated boat tail. This brought it down to 81 grains.

I like it even more than the Ideal bullet the group buy is for. As it has Less Bearing surface, has 4 cavities rather than one, and the small flat point will transfer more energy. Should make for a great HP'd varmint bullet. With it's small flat point area, it should look a lot like a Speer varmint bullet when HP'd.

I have really been leaning towards this rifle for the last several months.  Can you tell me approximately how much you have invested in the rifle to shoot .257.  This is not including any of your sighting devices.  Just the cost of the rifle, barrel, valve, air tank, hammer, spring and any other parts you needed to make the conversion.
I'm retiring Oct 1st, and plan on having a new rifle shortly afterwards and really like everything about the caliber.  I have spoken with some of the rifle builders out there, but none of them are really interested in making the .257.  They all want to sell the .308.  I may eventually get the .308, but seemed drawn more to the .257.
