2240 Hammer Debouncing?

Ok I have never needed a hammer debouncer before, despite a couple of ACP experimets.

Now I find that the extra noise of the shot from the slight hammer bounce to be a unwanted thing with the 2240, not to mention that I am wasting CO2.

I note that Airguns of Arizona carry the hammer debouncer for $20, that seems reasonable.

At the moment I am down to $5 to my name (after the Daisy 953 purchase).    And thus I ask if there is a way to debounce the hammer with out that debouncer.   It can be something that will only last a few weeks (a few thousand shots), however long it takes me to have some spending money again, so long as it does not cause any extra wear on the 2240.   Only requirement is that it does not cost me anything and does not cause any extra wear on the 2240.

You can try the o-ring mod. It does help a little. Just stack some o-rings that fit the inside diameter of tbe tube. Cheap and easy to try.

Thank you for that, I have just the O-Ring to use for that.

It was mainly designed for the pcp crowd but I've tried it on a couple of co2 guns and it does seem to help. The pistol in my avatar has 3 and I've gained about 10 usable shots but that's punching paper at 5 meters.

David... One of my 2240 carbines and one of my 2240 > 2260 HPA builds were bouncing crazy. I added 3 #113 buna and 1 disco valve o-ring (about half the thickness of the #113). I sandwiched the thinner o-ring between 2 thicker ones. The 2240 uses the stock 2240 hammer spring and 2240 valve, and the HPA uses a stock disco spring and the stock disco valve..... no more bounce on either. Albeit, the HPA has a Challenger power adjuster installed.

That sound quite good.   I think I will start with some Daisy Piston O-Rings, I have a few that still look good, though leak that would be perfect for this.

Did it with 3 old used Daisy 880/901 piston O-Rings, seems to work well.
