How to get my 2400 KT 22 to 600 fps

I have 2 2400KT in 22 cal with 18 inch barrels no mods at this point but want to get it legal for squirrels. in texas must have 600 fps. i have some springer air rifles but i love my little 2400 KT. i think i should have went with 24 inch barrels but not sure. how about a disco hammer spring? im not real mechanical so not sure about valve work. any suggestions cause i love these air rifles, or should i just use these for targets and cans and get a disco

The easiest way is to try some super light ammo.  Crossman SSP will give you over 600fps (read 655fps) and RWS Hobby get over 600fps.  All these are in longer barrels though.

Thank you i read it all, ive read the first 4 parts before but i see he has added more. some good information. i went out and shot my 2400kt and they are accurate. guess i need to invest in a chrony

I feel that, since you have a 2400 with the longer tube, it would be worthwhile to get a valve extension. Basically, you use a 2240 endcap that doesn't have that rod that pushes on the powerlet, and you add an extension between the two parts of the valve. The piercing pin will have to be extended. Since you have two of these guns, that's actually good. Some machine shops have a minimum order. Google "custom machined parts" or something like that and look around. Bob sterne has a post about doing this mod when making a .25 conversion on a 2240. I plan on putting a 2250 tube and extended valve on my 1740 in the future. Should be worth around 70fps in .22, but that's just my guess.

Easiest way is to install a hipac. The morning i got mine i screwed it in, filled to 1800psi - as per makers suggestion for a no mod gun. Right off the bat i knocked two crows off of my bird feeder. Chrony later said i was shooting 660's without any mods. Played with the valve a bit and chrony said 748. A few days later i got my first rat kill. I even wrote a poem about it. I hate messing with my gun so plug-n-play worked out great. You can use it on it's own or hang a regulated tank on it for lots more shots if wanted, or take it out and go right back to 12g.

Also: I'm still waiting for my first 2400kt. Its been 3+ weeks now and nothing.
Feels like a lifetime ago that I opted out of those ridiculously priced irons. They still got me on the camo stock though...

I have a modded valve and a power adjuster and I'm getting 600fps. That's on both a 18" and 24" barrel.  If you can't do the modding you can buy one already done.
